myVolts Pedal to Pedal TRS Stereo Candycord patch cables

video upload by myVolts

https://myvolts.com/Candycords

"Every cable we design is for a reason, so we thought we'd create a family of Low Profile Stereo Pedal Cables, fitting in with all your needs!πŸ₯°
.
Everything from a simple Pedal to Pedal patch cable, to the more complex CV in from modular, ready to simplify your life.
.
.
Great for Chase Bliss Pedals with their TRS in and out, but also a splitter cable that connects to other great Stereo dual Mono cables, like the Earthquaker Devices Avalanche Run or Empress Effects Zoia.
.
We asked our good friend Nadia Struiwigh to pop into us and test drive the cables, the music in this video is what she had created within 15 minutes of sitting down at our yellow desk.
A great result from just a Pocket Operator and few Pedals, what a talented musician she is! 😊 .
To celebrate this launch, we're giving away a free 'Step Up' USB-C power adapter (Red 9V- will power most pedals) with every spend of over $50 on our Candycords.🀸🀸‍♀️
.
Just use the code MVW38 in any of the myVolts online stores.
.
You'll find the new cables here:

Hypster CHAOS module from Synthetic Sound Labs

See this previous post for a demo.

Press release follows:

"CHAOS GENERATOR (MU FORMAT) ANNOUNCED

Want to add a little more CHAOS into your life? Here's just the thing.

Introducing the Hypster - Model 1720 —It takes orderly, mundane circuits and transforms them into a wild ride of unpredictable mayhem! Why settle for boring, consistent signals when you can have a chaos generator that truly lives on the edge?

Designed for those who find comfort in confusion and thrive on uncertainty, this gadget will have your synth screaming for mercy.

The Hypster produces signal waveforms varying from simple periodic to complicated multiperiodic to extremely dense and complex, both in the low frequency control range as well as up into audio frequencies. With an eight-signal output it can simultaneously control multiple synthesizer parameters or generate several audio waveforms for individual processing.

Designed in close collaboration with the Chief Chaos Crafter and Elite Entropy Engineer himself, Ian Fritz.

Features include:

• Unruly Squiggles: Square waves? Sinusoidal? Yah! How about “It does what it wants”? The Hypster generates signals that even it doesn't fully understand. Good luck figuring them out.

• Whacky Waveforms: Comes with its own limited 2 channel Lissajous oscilloscope that will have your eyes crossed and your head spinning. Touch screen control of trace length & thickness.

• Random Frequency Hopping: Is it 1Hz? Is it 10KHz? Who knows? The Hypster can help you slog through your synth frequencies like a snail on acid, or skip like a caffeinated rabbit on a pogo stick.

• Amplitude Anarchy: Say goodbye to predictable voltage. Every signal is a surprise—a rollercoaster ride of peaks and troughs that’ll keep you on your toes.

Distortion for Buchla Modular Synthesizer (2024) - Mahakit Mahaniranon

video upload by Mahakit Mahaniranon

"'Distortion for Buchla Modular Synthesizer (2024)'

Composed by Mahakit Mahaniranon
Programed by Mahakit Mahaniranon
Mixed by Teerapong Siehabut (Rubicon)

Recorded at Elektronmusikstudion EMS, Stockholm, Sweden

It is a composition that the composer would like to present the distortions from various things around us. At the meanwhile it looks like the guitar effect called 'Distortion'. Hence, the piece is conveyed sounds from effects as a distortion.

Although all sounds come from the Buchla Modular Synthesizer, the concept was adapted from another Wind Orchestra composition created at the same time. The composer would like some certain parts of the sound to display the improvisation and the sound that moves around without any directions

Thank you 'Isariya Bamrungphet' for your support.

John L Rice 5U “slew plugs”

video upload by John L Rice

"Sometimes I might want to add a little glide/slew/portamento to a sequence or keyboard part but don’t have a slew module handy or it’s already being used. With these I can just plug the CV source in and out of a multiple (or Y cable) along with the slew plug that best suits the tempo and effect I want.

These were inspired by a thread on the ModWiggler 5U forum. I simply soldered an electrolytic capacitor between the terminals of a modified 1/4” plug (I cut the ground/strain relief short) and then put some heat shrink on them and labeled with a Sharpie. I capacitor used values 10, 22, 47, and 100 Β΅F."

Minimal Audio Current: Dark Ambient Cinematic Presets Demo

video upload by Anton Anru

Minimal Audio Current 'Dystopian Soundscapes' is a collection of 50 atmospheric presets that evoke the feel of dark sci-fi soundtracks, dystopian films, thrillers, games, and dystopian novels. The soundset includes: 12 Pads, 8 Strings, 6 Drones, 7 Keys, 8 Synths, 9 Textures.

πŸŽ† Get the soundset: https://bit.ly/3MTxpdH

🧬 Exploring this relatively new plugin was a fascinating experience, and I was thoroughly impressed with its capabilities. The sampler and granular engines, outstanding effects quality, and extensive wavetable synthesis options played a pivotal role in shaping this sound bank.

πŸ—ƒ Each preset in this collection has a cohesive style, blending noise, distortion, and vintage tape emulation, striking a balance between experimental elements and playable, accessible sounds. The pack includes atonal sounds, drones, and textures perfect for creating tension and suspense. The core of the collection consists of atmospheric sounds, ranging from soft, expansive, and lush to bright, shimmering, distorted, orchestral, vintage, and more.

🧿 These presets are versatile and can be used in any genre where a dark atmosphere is essential, such as techno, ambient, IDM, industrial, drum and bass, and others. This collection is also an invaluable resource for soundtrack composers, game developers, audiobook producers, video creators, advertisers, and social media content creators.

🎚 Each preset is carefully programmed, with dozens of modulations, velocity settings, mod wheel mappings, and macros, providing a wide range of expressive and creative possibilities.

πŸŽ› The macros are a significant part of the soundset. They can change tone, stereo width, modulation depth and rate, noise level, distortion, detuning, space/echo/reverb, effects mix, envelope parameters, and others.
You may control them via MIDI controller, use them for automation, or map the macros to your DAW modulators like LFO, Shaper, and others.

πŸ’‘ Ensure that you are using the latest plugin version.
Installation:
Open the plugin. Push Menu -> Show User Presets. You will see a folder with the plugin banks of presets. Put the folder "Anton Anru - Dystopian Soundscapes" here.
Open the plugin again. Push Menu -> Rescan Presets Folders. You will see the new soundset in the plugin, both in the Steam Tab (Local) and in the upper presets bar.
In case you don't see the new soundset, relaunch the plugin.

One of my favorite tracks from the early 80s
Mr. Roboto by Styx from the album Kilroy Was Here (1983)
Written by Dennis DeYoung

Featured the Oberheim OB-X, the Oberheim OB-Xa, the Roland VP330 Vocoder and the Moog Source

This cover song series contains my own recreations of my favourite songs from the last 50 years. The original music from which I take inspiration belong to their respective owners. I recreate tracks only for personal passion and to pay homage to these tracks.
My intention is not to create covers that sound exactly like the original (if you want to hear identical sounds, please listen the original). It's more of an inspiration with my sounds from the old synthesizers from the past and of course the great appreciation for the original performers and producers."
