BlueARP DM in the studio p.1: driving SR-909 drum machine

video upload by graywolf2004ru

"In the studio with my partner STEDA Electronics, who makes SR-909 drum machine kits, TR-909 replicas: https://diystudiotoys.com/products/st...

BlueARP DM sequences drums, using SR-909 as a sound module and using 'trigger probability' settings, so there is a slight touch of randomness in this rhythm, which is impossible to do with 909's own sequencer.

Enjoy. BlueARP DM is still available from the same store https://diystudiotoys.com/products/om...

or via pre-order from my website: https://omg-instruments.com/wp/?page_...

New MIDI Sound & Interface Card for the TRS-80

video upload by Michael Wessel

via Michael Wessel:

"I am building a MIDI sound & interface card for the TRS-80. The idea is to turn the TRS-80 into a capable MIDI pattern tracker and sequencer, and at the same time, add MIDI sound capabilities to it as well. TRS-80 software is still under development, but the hardware is final.

For now, I have a simple drum pattern sequencer - the TRS-80 is sending MIDI data to the on-board S2 Dreamblaster module for sound generation; in addition, MIDI data is also sent to the on-board MIDI DIN OUT socket. MIDI recording and playback of complex MIDI is also possible:"

MIDI/80 on the Model III - Realtime Recording of Very Complex MIDI Data
video upload by Michael Wessel

Some more videos in the MIDI/80 playlist:

"MIDI/80 uses the BluePill STM32 microcontroller and an Adafruit MIDI breakout board for MIDI DIN sockets. MIDI OUT is either to an (optional, plug-in) Waveblaster-compatible sound module (e.g., the S2 or X2GS from Serdashop), or to an external MIDI expander such as the Roland MT-32 or Roland SoundCanvas SC-55 (or to both!)

MIDI/80 will be OpeSource soon, and a Github repo with the PCB Gerbers, BluePill firmware, schematics, BOM, docuemntation, as well as TRS-80 software are in preparation and should be available soon."

"Grab it here: https://oceanswift.net/product/faxi-homecoming-wavetable-stash/

After bundling the old, here comes the new! So excited to be back on the exploration/experimentation/innovation ride with wavetables :borg:  :Phones: - this is brand new and not included in the other big stash (that one bundles our wavetable packs from 2016-2020)!

Faxi Homecoming Wavetable Stash includes 200 high quality delicate morphing wavetables. Created in a unique fashion, using an in-house experimental application developed with ChatGPT. The wavetables and the final product were created LIVE on air during a Youtube session, exploring the application and the resulting wavetables with lots of variety and tonal exploration.

Every wavetable consists of 100 cycles seamlessly morphing from cycle to cycle, and each wavetable file is available with various frame sizes (64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048), ensuring compatibility with every wavetable synth that can load wave files. This includes Porphyra Hybrid, Serum, Kontakt, Codex, Surge, Ableton Live, Dune 2 & 3, Defiant WT, Reaktor, MUX Modular, KV331 Audio SynthMaster, VCV Seven Seas, Vital, Eurorack modules, hardware synths and many others. Just load these up in your favorite synth and explore!

Ocean Swift are known for our wavetables. Some of our wavetables have been featured as factory content in leading synths such as Native Instruments Kontakt, UVI Falcon, Native Instrument Conflux, Ocean Swift Enterprise, Polyphenom, Defiant WT, and Porphyra Hybrid, making our wavetable collections must-haves for any serious sound designer or music producer."

Creating a Wavetable Pack Product LIVE On Air with the Ocean Swift Wavetable Creator! #synthesizer

video upload by Ocean Swift / Faxi Nadu

"Finally the application is at a ready state, and we're going to make a Wavetable pack product, live in this session!

Each wavetable file is available with various frame sizes, ensuring compatiblity with every wavetable synth that can load wave files.

The Ocean Swift Wavetable Creator lets users generate complex wavetables using multiple waveforms and crossfade capabilities, all wrapped up in an intuitive GUI made using Python's PyQt5. We didn't write a single line of code manually—ChatGPT generated it all, from the user interface to waveform generation, crossfading, and more."

Befaco - BANDIT

video upload by Befacosynth

"A spectral processing playground.
Bandit is a fun combination of band-pass filters, VCAs, and routing options.
It serves multiple functions including equalizer, crossover, multiband VCA, 4 band spectral mixer, and spectral external FX insert point.

It allows you to:
Cut or emphasize different frequency bands of a signal, acting as a voltage-controlled equalizer/isolator. Split a sound into four different frequency bands for external processing, and if needed, insert them back Mix four different signals with predefined tone placement in the mix.
Create four different sounds from one sound source by modulating the volume with four different envelopes. Create evolving timbres by modulating one or more frequency bands using LFOs or audio-rate modulation.

Patch notes:
The main melody comes from the Keystep
Even and Pony VCO go to Pony VCF
Percall trigs by Eloquencer in the percussive patch"

Arturia PolyBrute 12 - it's all in the subtle mods!

video upload by Scott McAuley Sounds

"Patches will be available at https://www.orano.co.uk/shop or http://www.synthsounds.co.uk

The ability to create ever changing textures and modulations with the PB12 is amazing, the morph function can be used to drastically change the sound, or (like in this case) bring in some additional textures and artifacts and modulations to further develop an ever evolving pad keeping the sound interesting without going too crazy.

I am one for subtle texture changes, ones that feel very musical, and this patch is one I could play for hours.

hope you enjoy!"
