Rhodes Chroma Polaris 64-Key 6-Voice Polyphonic Analog Synthesizer

"It’s in phenomenal physical shape for its age. The membrane buttons had been previously replaced so they work like a charm. Comes with power cable and will be packaged very securely.

The only strange workaround is that the Assignable Control Fader doesn’t work. Instead, the Volume Envelope Release Fader controls both the selected Assignable Control parameter and the Volume Release at the same time. So when you move the Release fader, it affects both. Weird, but I usually set the Assignable to something that doesn’t affect the sound so it never bothers me. It’s probably a simple fix in the right hands. This synth just sounds too good to care! Everything else works well and I haven’t had any issues creating with it. One day I will regret letting this one go."

Bruxa by MakeNoise & Cortini | It's a GOOD witch.

video upload by Cinematic Laboratory

"While MakeNoise is focusing on the Resynthesizer, now is the time people are finally receiving their Bruxa. While it inevitably reminds of Strega and the Lyra 8 (FX) I think it's cleaner, more musical and easier to control. However, we can't debate personal taste and the distinct sound of the mono delay may be too lo-fi for some.

I got truly amazing results when I hooked it up with Echophon. What's not to love. I pre-ordered Bruxa when it was announced, and pre-ordered a second one after the Asheville flood. I would not recommend getting two, especially with Echophon nearby, but a dual Bruxa can make some great eerie textures that remind of the mighty Erbe-Verb."

One of my favorite tracks from the late 70s.
Baby Come Back by Player from the album Player (1977)
Written by Peter Beckett and J.C. Crowley

Featured the Yamaha Reface CP for the Rhodes and Clavinet sounds, ARP Quadra for electric bass and Solina string sounds, Roland M-VS-1 for additional sounds and Moog Minimoog for the synthesizer lead sounds

This cover song series contains my own recreations of my favourite songs from the last 50 years. The original music from which I take inspiration belong to their respective owners. I recreate tracks only for personal passion and to pay homage to these tracks."

OBERHEIM OB-Xa (x2 Collector vs Player Grade Demo)

video upload by Synth Tailor Electronics

"Here's two very different looking Oberheim OBXA's that just had full restorations at Synth Tailor Electronics. One is in very minty "Collector's Grade" cosmetic condition, and the second one had a very poor life on the road. Surprisingly, the mint OBXa landed in the shop with a lot more problems than the player grade OBXa.

0:00 Intro
0:38 Collector Grade OB-Xa
20:10 Player Grade OB-Xa

Both units had major restorations to each including: Power Supply Rebuild, Voice Cards/Tray Restorations, Left Hand Controller Rebuild, Upper/Lower Motherboard rebuild, and a Full Calibration/tuning. We installed Bourns 25 turn high quality trimmers on the voice cards (x6 per voice card: PW, Initial Frequency, Volts Per Octave.) This is critical to install high quality trimmers in these to have stable tuning!

Surprisingly, me personally liked how the less desirable cosmetic unit sounded, compared to the nicer cosmetic unit. Both were early revision/ both different revision OBXa's, but both sound great. These truly are such an iconic 1980s Analog Synthesizer designed by the great Tom Oberheim.

If you have a broken Oberheim OBXa or any other vintage synthesizer, drum machine, outboard gear, or rare obscure gear that needs repaired/restored, please reach out on our website contact form or email."

MARS Tube Synthesizer: Space solo

video upload by Eternal Engine EMI

"Hello guys! You've been asking for a long time, and I finally got around to recording the tube synthesizer MARS through a line-in. Sorry I couldn't do it earlier; there was a lot of organizational work to handle in these challenging times. This is just a small first attempt."

A few pics and details follow. You can find additional posts featuring the MARS Tube Synthesizer here.

Polyphonic synthesizer based on vacuum tubes.

MARS - the first polyphonic synthesizer based on vacuum tubes. The power and flexibility of oscillators based on the famous R-2R DAC TDA1387, combined with the original fully tube audio path based on the APPARATUS synthesizer circuit, allow you to create a wide range of sounds from punchy aggressive FM leads and acid basslines to soft classic pads and strings. The synthesizer supports full software control and easily integrates into any DAW using the original plugin. All synthesizers are assembled by hand and produced in limited quantities.

Specifications:
Compact RACK format, 5 units high

Fully tube audio path based on the APPARATUS synthesizer

Four oscillators operating in modes: BASIC (Sine, Triangle, Sawtooth, Fixed Pulse Width 1/2, 1/4, 1/8); PULSE; ENSEMBLE and Noise with Hi-Pass and Low-Pass filters

Voltage-controlled tube filter of the second order with self-oscillation with overload

Voltage-controlled amplifier, following the traditional architecture of tube opto compressors

Triode asymmetric overdrive
Indicator based on Nixie lamps

Full software control using the plugin

Four channels of 4xCV and Gate for integration with Eurorack format synthesizers
External Input for processing the audio signal of external audio devices

Two HADSR envelope generators with pre-delay and multiple retriggers

Sub-audio frequency generator LFO with restart and synchronization Clock, smooth waveform transition sawtooth-triangle-sawtooth, pulse-square-pulse, as well as Sample & Hold and Noise with reconfigurable Hi-Pass and Low-Pass filters

Auto and continuous modes of portamento / legato

Mono, duo, and 4-voice polyphony modes
Flexible 4-channel modulation matrix
Plugin for integration with DAW
PC connection with galvanic isolation
Priced at $2199
