"This synth has one of the most amazing features I've never seen before, which I am surprised it didn't catch on! Cost? IT IS CONSTANTLY RECORDING!!! How awesome is that?! How many times have you been playing, without recording, and later not remembering what exactly it was, because you were so caught up in the clouds...

Not only can this thing recall your last play, but the last many!!! And when it runs out of space, it starts recording over in that order, like a loop camera!"

"I was the Product Manager for FIZMO at Ensoniq in 1998, right before they were swallowed up by Creative Labs. This is actually one of the very first FIZMO’s to come off of the production line. When I saw it I immediately panicked! There was no silk screening for the I/o on the back of the keyboard! A few of these were manufactured this way and they were given to me and some of the customer support team at the time. It also includes the OG Radio Shack Adapter which we used in-house until the production adapters arrived.

I haven’t used it in years but I just fired it up. I do have the red plastic cover for the display. It needs to be glued back on. The unit is fully functional and works with the fantastic FAUXMO Editor which I have a copy of. Here’s one of the most unique synths ever produces and a piece of Ensoniq history."

The magic auto-muting eurorack mixer: Eowave Supamix Demo

video upload by mylarmelodies

"In this demo I'll show you the unique‪@eowavemodular‬ Supamix - a generative eurorack modular mixer. What's the trick? It can automate the on-and-off muting of channels, using voltage or gates. The pattern of muting is determined by an algorithm you choose, and makes it uniquely powerful for generative patches that play out by themselves, as well as co-ordinating buildups, drops and more.

One important feature I did not show - if you hold down a mute for half a second, it stays on no matter what automation is happening on the other channels. Useful for keeping one track running (eg. Drums) while others are switching on and off merrily."

The Supamix was announced back in May 2024.

Ambient Ø, wavestick, PO-32, field recordings in Tokyo | Time Ripple 2025-01-29 by atnr

"A Piece Created Using ‪@SONICWARE‬ LIVEN Ambient Ø, ‪@homebakeinstruments8214‬ Wavestick, and ‪@teenageengineering‬ PO-32

Gentle repeating sounds and drone textures resonate against the backdrop of sounds from Tokyo's residential areas.

Ambient Ø: I perform on the built-in keyboard while playing a loop. I use chorus as the master effect and route the output through ‪@strymon‬ NIGHTSKY to apply reverb and filters. Additionally, I modulate the pitch to create a wavering effect.

Wavestick: The sound is processed through ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ LOSSY with reverb, filters, and bit reduction effects, and then deep reverb delay is applied using ‪@HologramElectronics‬ MICROCOSM.

PO-32: Used to play sound effects, which are processed with delay and reverb effects from the ‪@KORG_INC‬ NTS-1."

Vaemi's new product, the Mini Mixer, is a mono analog mixer with 4 channels and 3.5mm mini jack inputs and outputs, designed for use in stage performances or recordings with all your line and analog equipment. Each channel features a saturation function, and it has a specially designed jack input for the 4th channel.

When the 4th channel and jack input are empty, the mixer’s master output is rerouted to the inputs, creating a "feedback" circuit. This feature allows the sound gain to increase by approximately 6 times, significantly raising the saturation level of the mixer. If an instrument is connected to the 4th channel, the feedback signal is disabled when the jack is plugged in, and the instrument's sound becomes part of the summing. When the channels are muted, the feedback enters self-oscillation.

The Kraakdoos, also known as the Cracklebox, is an experimental electronic musical instrument first developed by Michel Waisvisz in the 1970s. This device makes interacting with electronic circuits fun and unconventional, and is played through its touch-sensitive surfaces. When you complete the circuit with your fingertips, it starts producing sound, with the tone, intensity, and rhythm changing according to your touch.

VAEMI's Atari Punk Console features a circuit design that operates with two oscillators and the modulation between these oscillators. Based on the "Stepped Tone Generator" circuit developed by Forrest M. Mims III in the early 1980s, this design is one of the significant milestones in electronic music history.

Thanks to the two oscillators, it offers the possibility to select harmonic degrees based on the fundamental frequency. This feature allows users to create melodic arpeggios.
