"Flashback to June 2013! ⏪ I just completed a full restoration of my 70s ARP Quadra synthesizer. I drove from Belgium to Switzerland just to get it. It wasn't making any sound. The restoration was extensive. Had to spend many hours on it. After the restoration was finished, I posted this video on YouTube. It was still early days on YouTube. Suddenly, thousands of people all over the world were watching this video – just me noodling around on this rare synthesizer. I wasn't even playing a song! It blew my mind. That's when it crossed my mind: 'What if I turned these vintage synth noodlings into actual songs and teamed up with a singer?' That is where the first spark of Munatix was ignited. "So it took me borrowing a 909 and being taught by John Tejada for me to finally use my Perkons by Erica Synths. This thing is dope! So I attempt to just jam with nothing but the Perokons and see how far I can get exploring its groove settings, parameter locks, using voice 2 for the kick instead of 1 and more."
In this jam I loaded on the Hapax, the "definition files" for the Nymphes and TR-6S, and I have to say that it really opens up the possibilities to easily automate or modulate parameters on the synths (used for example here to modulate the pitch of some drum sounds or to add the noise oscillator of the Nymphes on some notes only etc.)
0:00 - The track starts with the 0-Coast playing a syncopated bass line thanks to the EUCLID MIDI effect of the Hapax, and with the M playing the main RIFF.
0:36 - I then fade in the Nymphes playing the pulsating (thanks to an EUCLID MIDI effect too) detuned CHORDS thru the Julianna analog chorus pedal (adding the wide stereo effect).
0:55 - The drum parts are played by the TR-6S using only the Analog Circuit Behavior engine (i.e. no samples used) for the drum sounds, with its VINYL SIM effect on the master bus squashing the DRUMS! 🤘 Also, I didn't use the TR-6S' sequencer here but the Hapax, in order to be able to swap between different patterns on only one machine (Hapax) + to use the FILL button on the Hapax to add breaks on the DRUM track too + I used 2 LFOs on the Hapax to control parameters on the TR-6S (as the TR-6S only has 1 LFO 😅)

"Chordi by Krzysztof Sadowski is a free chorder / chord generator / chord voicing app for iPad and iPhone. This is a standalone app, not a plugin, but it can send and receive midi. It also has simple inbuilt sounds you can use, but I prefer to send the midi to apps with better sounds, so in this demo am using the Pianoteq Rhodes. Note - I mention in this video that this app does not seem sensitive to midi velocity in. I got a reply just now from the dev that it should be. I double checked and it does not seem to work, I will let you know if this issue gets fixed or clarified, cheers!"
