"This is the Multivox FR6M Rhythm Ace, but a rare one that has the FR60 on the side in the same wooden housing, with slits in the left side for the speaker to pump out the beats and whatever is plugged into the mic input.

There are 1/4” outputs on the back. If nothing is plugged into the output then the beats are played through the speaker. If you insert a cable into the output jack the speaker is bypassed. There’s a volume knob that also is your on and off power switch. There’s a balance knob so you can hear just percussion or percussion and hi hats. In the video posted in the photos section of this listing you can hear it start off with the balance fully clockwise and a lot of cymbals, then I fade it counterclockwise and it has an effect almost like a lowpass filter. You can hold down more than one button to select more than one beat. You can get just a four on the floor and many variations with the three white buttons that correspond to the switch knob. And of course there is a tempo knob. The mode switch is a nice feature. Each beat has a variation A or variation B mode, but you can also select auto, which will play each variation in succession.

Our tech recently installed a new three-prong power cable and tried to eliminate the faint hum the unit makes, but it’s still there. It’s not a ground hum or anything you would hear in the signal, but more like the sound when a guitar amp is on. Also, once in a while if you’re doing a lot of beat changes a button may fly off. I just put it back when I’m done. It’s fun."

Ellitone groov-e & Hologram Microcosm dreamscape

video upload by Arman Bohn

"Fooling around with the Ellitone groov-e generative groove cloth(?!).

Happy accidents only please.

The groov-e does not allow for much in the way of traditional "controls".

Just imagine yourself to be a DJ from a world where music devices are created from scraps of burlap and preloaded with a jumble of random samples accompanied by the rhythm section of a 1980s Casio keyboard that has been circuit bent beyond recognition.

Nothing to sync, save, "dial in", or even plan for. An exercise in chaos!

The Microcosm is the glue that holds it together."

BEST SOUNDING DIGITAL SYNTHESIZER - Synclavier II - Synclav com

video upload by Synclav com

"This month Synhouse starts year number 27.

Synhouse has fully restored and shipped many, many dozens of systems in the last three decades and this work continues in 2025.

Shown here is the testing of a 16-voice setup just before export shipping. These are the later revision SS7X version of the Synclavier II Stereo Option synthesizer voices, playing notes and sustained chords for several minutes while listening.

Relatively few Synclavier 9600s were made, even fewer with the synthesizer voices installed, but those that had them used this exact type of bin (SB25) and voice card (SS7X, eXtended style), plus a very few Synclaviers of the PSxx series used them as well. Synhouse stocks these and Synhouse manufactures these (SB25, SS7X, etc.) and has them in the Synclavier store on the Synclav.com website.

Oberheim Matrix 12 Demo

video upload by EthanRayMusic

"A brief demo of some patches I created on the Oberheim Matrix 12.

It's a stereo signal running into my Apollo x4 interface. No FX/Reverb, just pure, raw Matrix 12 goodness.

This is the Japanese version, which has some differences in design from its U.S. counterpart. But still has the same incredible sound.

The last sound is simply sawtooth on both oscillators with the filter wide open. Even so it's quite stunning."
