How To Use a Huge Steel Tank As a Plugin

video upload by HAINBACH

"This is one of the most unreal reverbs I have ever heard, and it can be used like a real life plugin: The Tank in Rangely, Colorado. Discovered in the 1970s and previously only available to people in the know, it was converted into a venue and recording studio in 2015. I was invited by The Tank Center for Sonic Arts to try out its fantastic resonances. But instead of traveling there, I could sit in my studio and access it comfortable via an AUX from Ableton, and record a full album. In this video I show you the process and what you have to keep in mind if you want to play with the Tank.

Arturia Microfreak lofi jam | part 2

video upload by No Lake

"I can't say whether I love it or hate it. I have a hard time understanding the point of this synth. And yet, in a way, I find it fascinating. I have often met women who had the same effect on me lol."

The Cinematic Art of Game Sound: with Venus Theory, Jason Graves and Summit

video upload by Novation

"‪@VenusTheory‬ and ‪@JasonGravesMusic‬ craft cinematic-style game music, demonstrating how to build narrative and atmosphere in the multifaceted art of modern cinematic game scoring. Together they explore pace, texture, and layering to drive and develop gameplay, with each sound carefully designed to deliver specific sonic narratives. Watch to see how they create game music that adapts to the numerous decisions a player can take.

Cameron, also known as Venus Theory, is a composer, sound designer, and content creator, while Jason Graves is a composer for games, film, and TV with two decades of experience.

Digitone 2 + Launch Control XL 3: One System for EVERY Jam

video upload by Sineway

"Learn how to connect the Digitone 2 with the Novation Launch Control XL 3 for a consistent synth workflow that works across all your live performances.

🎛 What you’ll see:
My 8 column layout for drums, bass, leads, and more
How I map faders to mod wheel macros and encoders to breath control
Why one fader for all drums (mapped across multiple tracks) is often enough
Extra spice: direct MIDI CC mappings for reverb decay + delay feedback
How to configure the Launch Control XL 3 in Novation Components
How to assign MIDI channels on Digitone 2 for a stress-free synth workflow
Why this system also works with Digitakt 2, Syntakt, Digitone and even other synths like Peak or MiniFreak

💡 I still have unused encoders — what would you map them to? Let me know in the comments.

The software used to configure the Launch Control XL 3 is called Components and can be downloaded from here: https://novationmusic.com/components"

Going for ACID, but ended up with THIS... (Sound Design on the Oberheim TEO 5)

video upload by Oakland Ghosts

"For my first Sound Design session on the Oberheim TEO 5, I wanted to try to make an Acid style Bass Synth Patch... I ended up with this instead. lol.

I gotta say, designing patches on the TEO is super straightforward and user friendly. Even if you don't know what you're doing yet (see: ME) you can very quickly go from INIT patch to something really cool and inspiring!

Chapters to jump around/explain what I'm doing:

00:00 Start with an INIT patch
01:10 Find a rough Sequence
02:00 Dial in the Envelopes
02:43 Find a better Sequence
03:29 Dial in Second Oscillator
03:44 Add some Noise
04:02 Modulate Noise with Envelope 1
04:50 Still Tuning Envelopes
05:30 Reverb? Sure!
05:50 Play with the Filter!
06:45 Find an even BETTER Sequence
07:29 Add Some XMOD
09:38 Mod Wheel to ENV 1 Amount
10:37 Mod Wheel to Resonance
11:36 Mod Wheel to ENV 2 Decay
13:32 Mod Wheel to OSC 2 Level
16:00 LFO 1 to XMOD
17:40 Mod Wheel to ENV 1 Decay
18:20 Accidentally press Preset Button and LOSE ALL YOUR WORK!!!"

Going Dark and Moody with the Hologram Chroma Console Matte Black Edition

video upload by Starsky Carr

"The Hologram Chroma Console has had a gothic makeover with the brand-new Black Edition. It’s the same inspiring multi-effects pedal, but dressed in black — and I had to see if the darker look matches the moody, atmospheric sounds it creates.

In this demo I build tones step by step: starting from a simple sawtooth and layering drive, pitch modulation, drift, reverb, and interference. Before long, the Chroma Console takes us into gorgeous, complex, and sometimes unsettling soundscapes."

0:00 Watch out for Vampires.. This is what it does...
