Roland Alpha Juno & MKS 50 Presets

video upload by Sonic Freaks

"Presets are available here: https://www.sonicfreaks.com/shop/alph...

We proudly present our unique set of presets for the Roland Alpha Juno and MKS50 synthesizer series. We've gone to great lengths to create highly usable sounds for this unique synth. The sounds are ideal for (melodic) techno and house, electro, synth pop, ambient, EDM, and other forms of (electronic) music. Check out our demo to get a feel for the sounds.

We've paid close attention to the playability and expressiveness of the presets. Most presets are velocity-sensitive or use aftertouch to control the filter. Ideal for dance music.

The presets are 100% compatible with all models of the Roland Alpha Juno series, including the Alpha Juno 1 (JU-1), Alpha Juno 2 (JU-2), the Roland Synth Plus 10 (HS-10), Roland Synth Plus 80 (HS-80), the MKS-50, and the TAL TAL-Pha Plugin. For the Roland MKS-50, we've included an additional sysex file in which the tone names are copied to the patches. We did this because the MKS-50 has a slightly different architecture than the Alpha Juno series.

Bad Gear - JUST SAY NO!!!

video upload by AudioPilz

"Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world’s most-hated audio tools. Staying away from Eurorack feels - at least in my case - like trying to stay healthy as a sommelier who likes to go on 72h benders in his spare time.

Today we are going to talk about MiniBrute 2s. This keyboardless successor to the original MiniBrute and hotchpotch of controversially discussed Arturia technology comes with JUST the right amount of non-modular synth facilities to make it interesting to “normal” people while - at the same time - opening the unholy floodgates to Eurorack hell. Just say no!!!

Access Virus TI Soundscape | Sit and Rest

video upload by MIDERA

"I wish I could say what's been going on in my life, to complain about some of the stuff that has happened. It's not good, but not something I want to share publicly (nothing health related or anything). Just... huge letdowns.

Anyway - I'm here, still trying. I want to come back to something and say: I think the Virus TI is still my favorite synth in my studio... Coming back from the Moog Muse and thinking 'Huh, I didn't know I could do this on the TI.' The only thing I really wish the TI had was Filter FM, that's kind of a bummer - but I guess since it has oscillator FM, that can be maybe a more exact approach to a similar sound? And I know the LFOs can't go fast enough to simulate Filter FM (I tried, but after a certain frequency, pitch won't affect the rate like it should, so it won't work).

But... the Virus is something. After all these years it still impresses me. It STILL gets me feeling joy. Something not a lot of synths offer.

Like, the fact that it has those 'analog' filters (which are supposed to model the Moog filters?), they sound damn good. And something you might not think about is OSC VOLUME Saturation Type which can affect how the filter resonance sounds? I mean, this stuff can really change the sound in the most interesting way.

Don't know why I have half the crap I have to be honest... I've thought about selling the Prophet VS, Jupiter 6, and a whole lot of other things. They don't really bring me joy. But the Virus... it still does, and I've had this thing since 2012."

"The MASK1EX is a desktop synthesizer providing all the incredible sounds of the MASK1 in a small, stylish, lightweight and cost-efficient package.

It comes with 377 preset sounds and 200 user memory slots for own creations.

The bitmask sound engine is fully integrated in this module. Each voice offers two bitmask oscillators, two multimode digital filters, four envelopes, a noise source and two LFOs. It also comes with high-quality onboard stereo effects. Polyphonic legato slurs and other expressive play modes do work perfectly via MIDI, it is a unique feature to MASK1/MASK1EX that allows to dynamically change articulation between notes depending on how you play, making the sound more lively than on any other synthesizer. Built-in looper makes it ideal for jamming.

Limited quantities available, this is a one-off production batch."

This Drum is a Synthesizer!!!

video upload by Dylan Ferno

"This is a tutorial on how to get a variety of different sounds out of a steel tongue drum and handpan, without and added external effects from guitar pedals or a computer.

I compare sound design techniques on a Kosmosky 12 inch double sided drum to the Sonicware Liven Ambient 0 Synthesizer to demo how to replicate electronic effects acoustically to add different sound quality to your music.

Some of the techniques used here apply to other instruments like guitar, pianos and other percussion instruments, but some are unique to the steel tongue drum due it's unique form, timbre, and long sustain.
