Rodec Sherman Restyler

video upload by Robin Rimbaud-Scanner

"A little studio playtime with the rather rare Rodec Sherman Restyler, a Roland TR-6S drum machine, and Roland TB-303 software. The Rodec Sherman Restyler is a stereo analogue filter effects unit developed as a collaboration between two Belgian companies: Rodec, known for high-end DJ mixers, and Sherman, creators of the legendary Filterbank. It combines the hands-on immediacy of a DJ tool with the raw, aggressive sound-shaping power of classic analog filters. It can get very nasty, but I kept it under control here.

I'm surprised that there are so few videos on this extraordinary playable filter too, so hope you will enjoy it 😃"

Buchla gmxe 700FM - Poly Firmware Experiments

video upload by verstaerker

"the 700FM voice Module got a new Firmware with a polyphonic mode. It overall sound a quite a bit different to the classic Mono Mode (wich is also available) .
I sequenced it with the Oxi One and controlled some parameters with the OXI E16.
The sounds gets a bit more cranked up by utilizing the 285e frequency shifter. The 251e sequencer controls some modulation of index and morphing between A&B sounds."

10 Pro Tips for HUGE Bass Sounds (for any synth)

video upload by Starsky Carr

00:00 Intro to the Form 50 Bass Patch Bank
00:46 Simple is often the most punchy
01:52 Using resonance for "Acid" tones
02:25 Adding a second oscillator for "Reese" style bass
03:36 Changing oscillators by an octave for extra punch
04:37 Using intervals (Fifths and Thirds) for more harmonics
07:28 Adding LFO modulation to the filter or frequency
10:25 Using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) 1
11:55 Dirtyfying the sound with Audio Rate Modulation
15:31 Using the Feedback circuit and adding Noise
20:32 Creating sub-bass with a self-oscillating filter
22:32 Some Examples

"Want to create powerful, professional bass sounds on any synth? In this video, I break down 10 essential bass sound design techniques you can use right away — whether you're using hardware or software.

Starting from simple waveforms to complex modulation, FM, PWM, feedback, and self-oscillating filters, these techniques will help you design everything from deep sub bass to acid lines, reese basses, and gritty modern tones.

These are the exact methods I used to create 50 bass patches — and once you understand the principles, you can create hundreds more.

Poly Voice test _700 FM VOICE_with buchla 218

video upload by Gm Xe

"In the demo, the 218 is used as a MIDI keyboard, while still allowing simultaneous use of all its CV outputs and pulse outputs.

4-voice polyphonic architecture
Oscillator algorithm differs from the mono version; poly mode uses a waveform morphing approach similar to the 258 oscillator
Output now includes an internal VCA with built-in ADSR envelope, triggered via MIDI keyboard (velocity-sensitive by default)
UI updated with a dedicated ADSR page
UI updated with a Voice Mode page, allowing selection between:
Poly mode (with output compensation)
Mono bypass
Mono with ADSR
Added MIDI CC parameter control

Note: This is a test firmware version (not an official release). Feedback and bug reports are welcome.

Linn LM-1 Hardware Upgrades in 2026

video upload by DeftAudio

"Let's talk about the original LM-1 hardware, spare parts and hardware upgrades.
And install Memory Retrofit together:
https://deftaudio.com/store/tproduct/..."

Featuring Linn LM-1 SN 339

Non-Volatile Memory retrofit for Linn LM-1

"LM-1 Memory Retrofit is a complete assembled solution to replace the original RAM and battery backup. It goes straight into Z80 CPU socket. Compatible with all LM-1 revisions, but depending on the board, Z80 may be installed in the IC socket or soldered down. The package includes a spare machine pin (round pin) socket which only needs to be soldered down if LM-1 doesn't have it or has a poor quality socket.

Factory RAM chips may stay on the board. They won't be used. It's typically safer to remove them as they came installed in sockets. This reduces overall power consumption.

Features:
Replaces original RAM with Non-Volatile FRAM
Backup batteries are no longer needed!
Implements Econo Reset circuitry, no Linn mods required for memory protect on Rev1
Has onboard crystal 3.579Mhz to generate the system clock
Has a reset button to reboot LM-1
Comes with Z80 CPU installed"
