Erica Synths PERKONS HD-OI Leaked Pic

Looks like Erica Synths's "something unexpected" coming to SUPERBOOTH21 will be the PERKONS HD-OI.

It appears to be a drum machine based on the control section on the bottom left, and 4x step sequencer grid. Four drum voice sections on top followed by another section - effects, master? Note the joystick section on the bottom right. Each of the four sequencer rows appear to have a selector knob on the right. Tempo divisions?

Legible labels include:

How to update Perkons for chromatic play

"Firmware update 1.1 for Erica Synths' Perkons has brought many improvements. The two most notable are the ability to play each voice chromatically and the ability to have the optional hits on the last bar rather than the first. Here I go through the update procedure and the config page options to enable the new features. At the end I get distracted and start faffing about with a dronescape.

"Gary Numan's 1979 single 'Down in the Park' has always been a favorite of mine. This cover version (instrumental) has been made using only the Behringer Solina Strings and the Erica Synths Perkons drum machine. The Solina plays all the synth parts while the Perkons does drums and the sub-bass deep hits best revealed on headphones. The images are AI generated using Stable Diffusion.
It wasn't my aim to make a 1:1 copy but in the end I stayed pretty close to the original. Any time I started changing things it felt like I was insulting an old friend.

He showed us a little of what makes the Perkons a popular machine for performers, and also we got a look at the Syntrx II the EMS AKS inspired synthesizer with digitally controlled patch bay. It has more focus on input processing than Syntrx I.

This piece came about from the Hardware Jams Facebook Group's weekly challenge - which was to create the lushest-sounding pads or chords, juxtaposed against the most spiky and hellish beats you can conjure up. These beats are less than hellish, for sure 🤔 - but I tried to get the Erica Synths PERKONS rumbling hard.... The evolving pad sound is from a Mutable Instruments Braids Clone made by Blue lantern Modules. I wanted to add more pad sounds and make the pad part more sophisticated, but I ran out of inputs on the 1010 Bluebox mixer (Eurorack Version) I was using to record everything - because I already added too much before adding the pad sound - DOH! 12 Tracks runs out FAST!

(Eurorack is always teaching me patching and routing lessons for "next time", lol...)
