Follow-up to this post.

"Testing the Seiko DS-250 + DS-310 digital additiv synthesizer with a sequencer.
The Elektron Digitone is only for sequencing and effects.
I didn’t change the spectrum or envelope parameters live, because it makes digital noises.
By the way, the Midi of the Seiko DS-250 is super strange. Midi input is the connector labeled „Midi Thru“. Why did they do that?

ESK - Akai MPC 5000 + Ibanez RM-60 Mixer

"Again a jamsession with the Ibanez RM-60 mixer. This time all sounds are from the Akai MPC 5000 sampler.
Lot of fun to do this video but also i had to learn again, that the Akai MPC 5000 is buggy like hell.
Used the internal delay effects as well as a Lexicon PCM 90 effect for reverb.
With mastering.

ESK - Drums + Mixer Jamsession

"Jamsession with an Elektron Digitakt and a Roland CR-8000 mixed together in an analog Ibanez RM-60 Mixer.
There is also reverb from a Lexicon PCM 90 (yellow FX knob on the mixer).
Furthermore I use the monitoring send as feedback line (blue FX knob on the mixer).
With mastering.

The Ibanez RM-60 is similar in design to the Boss KM-60. The Boss has more drive in the preamp and the HiPass filter in the master section can be used better in a performance.
The Ibanez Mixer on the other side has less ground noise and a monitor send.
I like both of them. Good usable for a jamsession.

ESK - Akai MPC 5000 Delay Looping 2

"Looping session with an old Viscount R64S PCM drumcomputer, ASM Hydrasynth and an Akai MPC 5000 Sampler.
Was again a lot of fun to do this video.
What I did is to use the 4 effect buses of the MPC 5000 with delays with high feedback. So it’s like a 4 channel looper. Interesting is to change the delay time, that results in some digital stutter effect, which are nice.
My Viscount R64S (same as R64) doesn’t work with sync (needs s-trigger clock), so i started and set the tempo manually. Furthermore I used a Filter after the Viscount R64S, because the 50Hz hum was quite loud.
But I like a lot the sounds and the preset beats of this sample drummachine.
No external effects, only soft mastering.

"For a soon coming live event i made a liveset test. Used a Elektron Digitakt together with a Nord Lead A1R and a Elektron Syntakt together with a Nord Modular G2. Added for ambient sounds an iPad with Borderlands Granular App and mixed all in the A&H CQ-18T.

I’m switching the transpose presets by touching of the knobs on the MXR.

ESK - Erica Synths Bullfrog + Polyfusion 755 MK2

"Simple demo of the Polyfusion 755 MK2 Frequency Shifting Feedback Controller together with an Erica Synths Bullfrog Synthesizer. Not playing anything meaningful, it’s more about the sound.
The Polyfusion is inserted in the delay feedback of the Bullfrog.
The 755 was not intended as effect unit. It was for PA-Systems to prevent mic feedback. So the maximal frequency shift range ist 1.5 to 6 Hz. You can shift up or down. This unit used in an effect insert it’s not interesting, you will not hear any effect, the change is too suptile. But in a feedback loop, it’s quite cool.

ESK - Haken Continuum + Waldorf Kyra 2

"Another Haken and Kyra Demo. Not playing something meaningful, it's more about the sound.
In this Patch i use a lot of Parameter modulations with the Y direction on the Haken.

The Haken Continuum Fingerboard as a Midi controller for an Waldorf Kyra synthesizers.
The Waldorf Kyra is perfect in combination with the Haken because it updates all voices/multitimbral channels simultaneously while changing parameters. It has no MPE, but it is 8 channel multitimbral and so you can use it with every MPE controller. Only drawback, there are no global controllers (like modulationwheel), but with the Haken i don’t need them.
No external effects are used.

The Waldorf Kyra is perfect in combination with the Haken because it updates all voices/multitimbral channels simultaneously while changing parameters. It has no MPE, but it is 8 channel multitimbral and so you can use it with every MPE controller. Only drawback, there are no global controllers (like modulationwheel), but with the Haken i don’t need them.
The pitchbend on the Kyra has only a range of 1 octave, which is not much, but for my use, it's enough. No external effects are used.
