"Here is a full video from a short improvisation I had on a first iteration of a four voice polyphonic patch built around the Vostok Instruments modules, with some help from the 810 Mk2 from System80 and a Fusion Modulator from Erica Synth.
Mostly playing with the arpeggiator speed and pitchbend here tho."

NiftyCase - Firmware Update

"Step-by-step procedure in updating the Cre8Audio NiftyCase to the new USB firmware. Cre8Audio have developed a new boot loader that uses a different USB protocol (HID instead of libUSB). This new boot loader is used on our later products (Mr Phil Ter, and NiftyKEYZ) without any reported problems, and without the need for drivers on any OS. It will also be used for future NiftyCASE, Chipz and Cellz batches.

I found this update also fixed my CV Pitch 1v/Oct issue."

"Let's go four voice poly with the Vostok Instruments modules today in this quick little demo.
I've been sent those module alongside another one that I can't talk about yet and I really wanted to try this setup with the NiftyKEYZ. I'm glad I did as I found it to sound very good and I had a blast doing the demo track of this video (will probably turn it into a full track at some point).

MiniMod Keyz & 6U Full System - Keyboard Split & Arpeggiator Sequencer mode melodic performance

"Testing the keyboard split and sequencer mode on the Niftykeyz controller as part of the MiniMood complete Eurorack synth system, also controlling a 6U Full System.

Both these systems are based around the 3-VCO MiniMod voice, which is a re-creation of the original R.A Moog version of the Minimoog, so they can sound huge. Both have the Ring SM, allowing a further 2 sub-octaves to be added to the sound, with substantially more mixing capacity, so being able to control both from the same controller provides great scope for performances.

The 6U system is available on a Doepfer vintage-look case (not pictured here - this was a custom build), and all feature the very powerful Gemini 2412 dual, state-variable, voltage-controlled filter based on the VCF from the excellent, vintage Oberheim SEM (Synthesizer Expander Module).

AJH MiniMod Keyz Complete System - Minimoog-inspired Eurorack Synth & Keyboard Controller

"Complete AJH Synth systems now available.

First up the MiniMod Keyz - equivalent of a Minimoog, plus extra modules, pre-installed inside a Cre8audio NiftyKeyz Eurorack case and keyboard controller.

This makes a complete Eurorack modular synth that's ready to go straight out of the box.

Our package includes the standard MiniMod voice - directly based on the original R.A. Moog version of the Minimoog, along with a RING SM, Tap Tempo VC-LFO, and the new Low Fat HP filter.

It is fitted with custom Dark American Walnut end cheeks, for a more vintage look, and comes with a selection of patch cables, so that you're ready to start making the floor rumble right out of the box.

The Ring SM is a 5-channel Moog CP3 mixer, EMS Synthi/VCS3 based Ring Modulator, and a very rich-sounding, simultaneous 2 octave sub-bass generator. User Guide:

The Tap Tempo VC-LFO is a very complex modulation source, with 16 common and unusual wave shapes, including stepped and sloped random voltages. Every element can be voltage-controlled, and can be clocked by external modules/sequencers, or act as a master clock, clock divider/multiplier. User Guide:

The Low Fat is a voltage-controlled 2hp high pass filter, and a great compliment to the classic, huge-sounding Transistor Ladder Filter. The Fattest filter in town needs to slim down sometimes! User Guide:

'More than just a full-sized 49 key keyboard (with aftertouch), NiftyKEYZ has a whole load of space for a pile of whatever eurorack format modules you want to toss into it. All told, NiftyKEYZ has 112hp of available module space and its newly designed power supply provides 1500mA +12v, 1000mA -12v, and 1000mA +5v power. Stuff NiftyKEYZ with modules and you’ll have a franken-synth that’s only limit is the bounds of your imagination (or lack thereof).

So having 4 voices that you can assign willy nilly in your own Frankensynth is super cool, but we thought you wouldn’t want us to stop there! NiftyKEYZ also has a multi-mode arpeggiator that syncs to an external clock as well as NiftyKEYZ’s internal clock.

Speaking of clock, NiftyKEYZ can easily divide incoming clock to your heart’s content, as well as generate its own kicking pulse. Perfect as the center of your system or just being a part of it.

Pretty Mod right? Speaking of Mod, NiftyKEYZ’s modwheel can send constant voltage, allowing you to modulate like a mad person. Additionally, you can toggle the modwheel into LFO mode where now the modwheel will control the depth of clock-synced LFO with 5 fantastic user-selectable shapes.

We’ve only begun to scratch the surface. We haven’t even started to go on about the autochord, sequencing, expression I/O, velocity, and oh yea, there’s aftertouch too!!!!!'

Tuesday, April 19th, 2022, Cre8audio introduced NiftyKEYZ a eurorack friendly, utility packed case with an integrated full-sized 49key synth-action MIDI controller keyboard.

NiftyKEYZ melds a utility packed eurorack format modular synthesizer case into a modern MIDI controller keyboard, enabling users to configure their own “dream synth” out of eurorack format components/modules.

Designed to bring the fun and flexibility of the eurorack modular synthesizer format to keyboard instruments, NiftyKEYZ provides an ample canvass for users that want to get creative with synthesizer their own configurations & modular synthesis manifested in keyboard form.

Much more than a eurorack case with a MIDI controller attached to it, NiftyKEYZ sets out to redefine the idea of what a synthesizer keyboard can be.

NiftyKEYZ first and foremost offers keyboard & MIDI control over 4 CV + Gate outs. NiftyKEYZ’s MIDI implementation enables the use of each of its 4 CV + Gate outs as either a part of a fully patchable polyphonic instrument or on their own monophonically. Additionally, each voice can be split across multiple MIDI zones on the keyboard. For example, it is possible to create a 4 voice polyphonic instrument or a 3 voice instrument in part of the keyboard range, while splitting another voice into a monophonic instrument elsewhere. The possibilities just begin there.

NiftyKEYZ also has a plethora of powerful performance functions that add expressivity and flexibility. These include a multi-mode arpeggiator, multi-mode clock synced LFO, aftertouch, velocity, sustain/latch mode, internal clock, expression out, and much more. All of these performance features are tied to CV outs, providing an unprecedented amount of modulation and control possibilities. Adding dimensions of depth to instruments is easy.

NiftyKEYZ’s CV & audio capabilities don't end with its performance capabilities. Users will appreciate the integrated 2x buffered mults as well as the 2x outputs and headphone out with dedicated controls.

Beyond NiftyKEYZ’s modular synthesis capabilities, it is also a very capable USB and 5 pin Din MIDI controller and device. It can not only take midi in from computers and external MIDI devices but also send MIDI back out to control them.
