This unit is very dusty/dirty and has plenty of signs of use. The battery compartment is defective and a 12V DC center positive power supply is required in which case the unit does function as intended. The power supply was from a different unit so this one unfortunately does not come with one but it should be fairly easy to source one.

"This Korg Trident is owned by Tycho

There are a handful of general scuffs and scratches here and there. A strip of the veneer on the front wood panel is torn off and dangling. The top metal enclosure is missing a few screws so it lifts up if turned sideways. The "High" output jack is a bit scratchy and loses connection in which case you kind of have to find its sweet spot to get it to pass signal. There are a handful of buttons that seem to have difficulty engaging unless firmly pressed. This is likely due to some dusty pads. Everything seems to function, however this synth would definitely benefit from a tune up to address some of the minor things stated above.

'I got this from a friend, and he thought it was broken, so I got it basically for nothing. I went to RadioShack and got a cell phone battery… and I soldered it in there, and it started working. One thing that drew me to it was I heard that Boards of Canada used it a lot, and it’s got this joystick that can get a wobbly vibrato going.'

"I would visit Herb and his wonderful wife Nancy every time I was in New York City, which allowed Herb and me to take long walks around their neighborhood. During those walks he would talk about Dad, the early days of pioneering the Moog synthesizer, about the darker period when Dad had to sell the business, the couple of times that Herb and Dad had significant disagreements, and the years Herb served as marketing director, and then sales director for Moog Music in Buffalo, in the period after Dad had left the company."

This single was created in our signature Cosmic Tape Music style, utilizing electroacoustic techniques, Reel to Reel tape machine, and varispeed “tape tricks” for vocals and bass guitar to change timbre and original pitch. The use of electro-mechanical effects treatments like spring reverb and tape delay were implemented to add a touch of vintage spice.
