"Jewel Bandolero captures the vintage analog sounds of the distinctive Gem Rodeo 49. This Italian synthesizer was introduced to the market by the Galanti Group in the early 1970s. It featured a 49-key keyboard and drum/rhythm machine, as well as a variety of knobs and faders to control layer volume, instrument type, accompaniment, and tempo. Our library includes synth sustains, staccatos, and “Magic Chords” dialed in from the organ, and 41 tempo-syncable drum machine loops. We recorded the instrument articulations in wide stereo and direct line in. After that, we crafted twenty evolving ambient pads from the source content to enhance versatility. Jewel Bandolero offers an exploration of a classic combo organ, complete with warm tonal colors ready to complement any genre of music.

We’ve packed the GUI with lots of great sound-shaping controls that give you the flexibility to warp the sound in many ways. You have control over Volume, Attack, Release, Transient Offset, Vibrato and Octave layering. The "Glide" control slider allows you to play legato and portamento leads. You’ll also find an adaptable LFO system, with selectable LFO shape, modulation target parameter, speed, intensity, tempo-syncing and fade-in time. You can also apply your choice of 13 lowpass, high-pass and FX filter, with assignable modulation control options, including velocity, modwheel, expression, after-touch, key position and step-sequencer table control. You can also use our customizable arpeggiator, with a built-in velocity sequencer table and control over arp direction, note timing, swing, randomization and duration."

Jewel Runner 49 encapsulates the retro analog vibes of the eccentric Gem Sprinter 49. This Italian synthesizer was introduced to the market by the Galanti Group in 1970. It featured a 49-key keyboard, built-in speaker and drum/rhythm machine, as well as a variety of buttons and faders to control layer volume, instrument type, automagic accompaniment, and tempo. Our library includes synth sustains, staccatos, and 16 tempo-syncable drum machine loops dialed in from the organ. We recorded the instrument articulations in wide stereo and direct line in. After that, we crafted 20 evolving ambient pads from the source content to boost usability, and 20 custom FX presets to kickstart your next composition. Jewel Runner 49 presents a tasty sampler platter of a classic combo organ, complete with warm tonal flavors ready to complement any genre of music.

Hybrid Modular Ep 1 • Hardware + Software | Eurorack + Computer Synthesizer

Published on Mar 26, 2020 Lightbath

"Up until the global travel situation abruptly changed I was preparing for a European tour. My focus was building an entirely new hybrid hardware + software modular system to travel light and enter some new sonic zones. I had begun to document the process with the aim to create a short series of videos following my progress and covering the design and implementation of this new instrument. This series is still happening, it’ll just be spread out in time a bit more—which is a relief, actually.

And I'm hopeful that the EU tour can be rescheduled for later in the year (or next year). But for now, please join me on the internets, starting with Episode 1, which was shot just before the global situation changed, but somehow seems quite relevant in honor of The Fool on this first day of April.

Please subscribe and ring the bell to be notified of future episodes and, please—stay safe out there (in there)!

Your pal,
Lightbath

✶ THANKS ✶

Thanks to MDR.modular, Expert Sleepers, Qu-Bit Electronix and 2hp for sending gear to help me build this new instrument. Also, thanks to Native Instruments, Soundiron, Hosa, Xaoc Devices, Noise Engineering, ADDAC, and DivKid for your continued support. I appreciate you all being a part of this journey!"

Dive deep with three new organic instrument devices, a premium acoustic piano, a creative modulation device, and 3 GB of cutting-edge drum loops and samples. Open up a new world of exciting creative possibilities with Reason’s biggest content upgrade ever.

“Reason 10 builds on our award-winning software with the best sounding instruments we’ve ever created,” said Mattias Häggström Gerdt, Propellerhead Product Manager. “Europa and Grain continue our tradition of stunning yet intuitive synthesizers with more than a few tricks up their sleeves. Soundiron - Granada 49 - New Soft Synth Based on the Vintage FESMA Granada 49

Published on Aug 28, 2017 Soundiron

"Craig Peters walks you through our newest library Granada 49 which is the newest library of our Vintage Keys Series."

Note this is the first post to feature FESMA. They were primarily an organ maker. You'll find a video of the original FESMA Granada 49 from YouTube below. First, some samples and details via Soundiron.

via Soundiron

"GRANADA 49 faithfully captures a rare 1970's-era portable analog synthesizer by the now defunct Italian synth-maker Fesma. The instrument's classic wood-accented body echoes the popular aesthetics of the 1970s and its fat, warm analog sound cuts through the mix. We've sampled its 9 stock waveform presets and included tons of custom FX patches and sound-designed ambient synth pads created from the source to make this compact library extraordinarily playable and versatile. Whether you're looking to recreate an old 8-bit videogame sound, fat synth bass tones or razer-sharp lead lines, the Granada 49 library can do it!

The power of Granada is really unlocked by our easy-to-use yet powerful 3D-modeled user interface. Basic sound shaping options are included: volume swell, note attack time, release time and sample start offset let users mold the sound anyway they want. Other main controls include vibrato and a special "Octave" knob, which really beefs up your tone by smoothly rolling in lower and higher octave layers.

The "Glide" option adds an adjustable-speed portamento pitch bend between notes. The advanced tempo-syncable LFO system features configurable LFO shape, modulation target, speed, intensity, and fade-in time. A versatile filter system allows you to select between 13 filter types, modulation options, and control the frequency and resonance. As always, we included our customizable arpeggiator, which lets users control pattern direction, rhythm, swing, randomization and duration. The advanced GUI is rounded out by our modular FX rack, which lets users put any of 18 different effects (reverb, distortion, etc.) in up to 10 slots, in any chain order they desire. This also includes 119 of Soundiron's high quality impulse responses which can be loaded into the "Reverb" effect.

The library is programmed for the full version of Kontakt 5.5.2 and later (OSX 10.9 or later / Windows 7 or later required). It comes equipped with a custom user interface and dynamic sound shaping and mixing controls: volume, attack, release, offset, vibrato, octave, bank preset loading (with optional key-switching), adaptive arpeggiation, advanced LFO and filter systems and our full FX rack with convolution reverb with your choice of well over 100 different rooms, halls, spaces and special FX impulses."

Note the following is a user video I found on YouTube of the original. It is not a video from Soundiron.

After Hours - Three synth Jams

Published on Mar 3, 2016 GForce Software

"Good hardware and good software should always play well together.

Here are three examples of what we get up to after-hours as the sun sets and we start to wind down. The first two tracks are totally live improvisations using both software and hardware instruments, while the third track was initially recorded as a live 808, Oberheim 8 Voice & Modular synth jam, before several extra overdubs were added.; again, some software and some hardware.

Because it all has to come from the music, we don't only use GForce plug-ins either and here you'll find other good food from plug-ins such as Soundiron's Emotional Piano, Spectrasonics' Omnisphere & Stylus, iZotope's Iris, plus the AAS Lounge Lizard (through iZotope's wonderful DDLY), all sitting alongside impOSCar2, Minimonsta and Oddity2.

For the hardware fetishists, instruments include the Roland Jupiter 8, Oberheim 8 Voice, Prophet 5, Yamaha CS-80, Roland TR-808, Minimoog, Moog Sub37, EMS AKS, Simmons SDS-V, Roland SH-101 and a modular synth so special we daren't speak its name.

All music by GForce's Dave Spiers."
