Blade Runner - Inspired Ambient Modular Piece | Eurorack Modular & Korg ARP ODYSSEY |

video upload by Piotr Garbaczonek

"Thanks for watching!

I don't have my modular gear from New York, so I decided to see what I can create with my remaining modules at home and put it into a Pittsburgh Structure EP-420 Modular System. After recording what I can, I decided to also include some improvisation on the Korg/ARP ODYSSEY, as I don't get to use it that often when I am away. Hope y'all enjoy it! Happy Holidays!
Also, this is my 200th video on this channel!!!

Haken Continuum / EaganMatrix - Using Continuum as a Digital Sound Procesor

EaganMatrix Programming

"Short video to demonstrate how to connect up external audio to be routed into the Continuum to be processed using the EaganMatrix - here functioning as a reverb/delay processor on an unprocessed Synthesis Technology E370 Quad Morphing VCO (but could apply to any Analog source you convert to AES and send into the Continuum). Of course you can do many things with that AES input besides just applying the Recirculator to it in addition to combining it with EaganMatrix sounds (a follow on video will cover more advanced ways to process the external audio)."

Eurorack MPE Poly Synth

Published on Aug 7, 2019 Wein Glas

"I built my own hybrid 4 voice polyphonic MPE synthesizer with eurorack modules. And you can do it, too!

It consists of:
4 digital VCOs (Synthesis Technology E370 Quad Morphing VCO),
4 analog VCFs/VCAs (Sputnik Modular Quad VCF/VCA),
a polyphonic MPE USB/Midi to CV/Gate Interface (Expert Sleepers FH-2 plus Expander)

and the Linnstrument as the MPE controller."

Robert Rich & Paul Schreiber (Synthesis Technology) - Live from Control 09.21.2018

Published on Dec 18, 2018 CTRL MOD

"Friday, September 21, 2018 - Control presents Creative Synth Patching with ambient electronic artist Robert Rich & Paul Schreiber, founder and chief engineer of MOTM and Synthesis Technology.

Rich and Schreiber's long friendship and collaboration most recently found Rich as head beta-tester for Schreiber's epic E370 Quad Morphing VCO. This intimate evening brings the two friends together again for an exploratory discussion and a demo of Robert Rich's own style of patching techniques, to help the synthesist move beyond the basics of signal path. Rich also discusses his influences and recording techniques.

Thank you Robert Rich and Paul Schreiber.

Control specializes in Eurorack Modular, vintage traditional and unusual eccentric electronic devices both analog and digital. Please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Silent Night with the Synthtech E370

Published on Dec 23, 2017
Performed using the Synthesis Technology E370 Quad Morphing VCO, played as a 4-voice synthesizer using MPE controlled by a Roli Rise 49. This was recorded live, no filtering of the E370, with a phaser, convolution reverb and delay in post processing. The only sound generator is the E370.

The 4 voices of the 370 are identical, in 4-voice cloud + morph mode. The MIDI signals from the Rise are converted into control voltages using an Encore Expressionist (8 CVs + 4 gates) and the CV Toolkit software (6 CVs) for a total of 14 CVs and 4 gates.

Each of the 4 voices has 3 independent CVs controlling pitch, volume from MIDI velocity, and cloud spread from the Roli Rise glide (finger position from the front and back). One additional CV controlling overall volume is controlled by an expression pedal, and the last CV from a slider on the Rise controls the morph waveform, which is the same for all 4 voices. In addition the waveform is morphed around the value set by the slider by a slow LFO triangle wave. The note dynamics are controlled by 4 ADSR envelopes triggered by the 4 gates."

Synthtech E370, 4 voices controlled by a Roli Rise using MPE

Synthtech E370 Quad Morphing VCO on Kickstarter

Synthesis Technology is seeking funding for their E370 Quad Morphing VCO on Kickstarter.

"Feb. 17, 2017

Synthesis Technology launches their first Kickstarter program today, the E370 Quad Morphing VCO. A 54HP wide Euro module, the E370 uses improved algorithms from the E340 Cloud Generator, the E350 Morphing Terrarium and the E330 Multi-Mode VCO for 96Khz, 16-bit sound. The microSD card allows users to load in their own wavetables and store presets. Shipping in October, the E370 is a skiff-friendly, highly user-programmable oscillator bank. Visit the campaign page for videos, audio files and full specifications."

"The E370 Quad Morphing VCO is a Eurorack-compatible module containing 4 independent digital voltage-controlled oscillators.

The E370 Quad Morphing VCO is a DSP-based, quad oscillator Eurorack module from Synthesis Technology. Using improved algorithms from the E350 Morphing Terrarium, the E340 Cloud Generator and the new E330 Multi-Mode VCO, the E370 is the most technically advanced Euro oscillator available. The four VCOs can be individually controlled, used in a set of two pairs, or ganged in “Unison”. A full-color TFT display is used in a ‘shallow depth’ menu system and can show each VCO’s output in real-time (oscilloscope mode). A micro-SD card slot allows users to load in their own custom wavetables and to save & load presets into the E370.

The E370 is 54HP wide and has a depth behind the panel of 48mm (1.89in). It uses a 16-pin shrouded header (standard Euro power, the cable is included) and the target power consumption is +12V @155ma and -12V @40ma. The final power will be available once the project is funded and the module is running the code and the TFT backlight current is determined. About 35% of the current off +12V is determined by the setting of TFT brightness."

Interview with Paul T Schreiber of Synthesis Technology

"Like many other electronic musicians lately I have been obsessed with my Eurorack modular. A few modules I own really stand out. Three of my favorites are from a company called Synthesis Technology. Synth-tech as people call them is Paul T. Schreiber. If you look at his resume you will see he is an experienced audio engineer. You can hear his expertise in his modules. Enjoy a one hour Wire to the Ear interview with Paul as we discuss Chris Randall, MOTM, an $18,000 home stereo, the end of Blackberry, Tandy Radio Shack, the power of digital, patents and stealing designs, Eurorack power issues, the upcoming E370 Quad Morphing VCO/E371, E102 Digital CV Processor/Quad Temporal Shifter and what would Paul eat as his death row meal.

“So a lot of people grew up drooling in music stores. I drooled in the stereo store and I wanted to have this stereo system that cost $18,000. So I told my wife…” - Paul T Schreiber
