Fairlight NNXT

Published on Jul 27, 2014 bitleyTM

"A little cute demo for the brand new Fairlight NNXT refill (2014) which is a fantastic 120 Mb sound bank for Reason 7.

http://bitley.laconicsounds.net

There has been a request for a more simple, scaled down and refined version, and this has now been produced. Fairlight NNXT builds upon the original Fairlight CMI documentation for revision 1.3 from Fairlight Instruments (included) which describes the 32 factory disks. All disks are included here and the refill contains 350 Fairlight CMI NNXT sounds for Reason 7. The refill also contains all of the Subtractor, Thor and Malström sounds from the bigger versions, as well as a couple of bonus "disks" with Bitley sounds, Art Of Noise sounds and Vince Clarke sounds. The sounds are sorted and named exactly as on the 32 original Fairlight CMI disks. The file size is just below 120 Mb."

A Roland JX8P "PWM" attempt (full settings included)

Published on Jun 29, 2014 bitleyTM·19 videos

"Tweaking away on the iPad with the iPG800 app [iTunes], I ended up on a sound very similar to PWM modulation even though the JX8P does not have a dedicated PW / PWM like its siblings Juno 60, Juno 2, Jupiter 6, Jupiter 8 etc.

Feel free to copy the parameter settings. Important here are DCO 1 LFO depth, DCO 2 cross modulation settings, LFO rate. Once you have set that you can play with filter, tune, envelope and chorus settings. What you see programmed here is exactly what is played, straight out from the JX8P.

The JX-8P is a 6-voice analog synthesizer from 1985."

Hey Mom!

"1.01 of Casio CZ-101. Why fuzz. Get a real synth for dinner.

The CZ-101 was my first synth and now I got one again. Filled with nostalgia, I made a little multitracked SONGAMAGOOP just to try it out again."

This would have been a great one for mother's day.

"August 8, 2013

For immediate release: Bitley presents Omnia

Omnia is the latest incarnation of Bitley's Fairlight-based sound banks, as developed from 2010 to present date. The first release in the Omnia series is Omnia Samples. This contains all of the wave files (samples), comprising 2,3 Gigabyte of data and nearly 6,000 individual samples. Omnia Samples is released in two versions: One raw wave version, which fits all samplers and sample players that can import AIFF and / or WAV files. This covers nearly all sampler instruments since many years back. The other version is made for Reason 7. Subsequent Omnia series releases for Reason will include things from Bitley's previous Fairlight II+, XXL and Platinum refills alongside with completely new patches as well as fixes and updates, new naming conventions and more focused categories. Fairlight Platinum will remain as the largest Bitley refill with its 3,600 instrument patches. There is also a Fairlight-based Kontakt library available which recently was updated (July 2013).

Bitley is a swedish maker of sound banks, programming hardware synthesizers as well as making software releases. The company started out in 2010 by releasing the sound banks Orlando JX10 and Fairlight CMI Legacy. Bitley's usage of the Fairlight samples is an agreement with Fairlight and Peter Vogel in Australia. Newer refills include The Prophet, O8, Flux, Poly Ensemble and more.

Bitley™ Poly Ensemble ReFill Featuring the Korg Lambda

via Patrick Fridh on The MATRIXSYNTH Lounge:

"Presenting my latest work; the Poly Ensemble refill for Reason 7.

Poly Ensemble gives you expertly multisampled and looped sounds from the venerable Korg Lambda, utilizing all sorts of tricks and possibilities with Reason 7 without the need for extra rack extensions.

The Combinator graphics took us quite a while to design, making it possible for the user to experience even more than the original (1979) Lambda provides, by laying out all the 8 base sounds / sound types across the four knobs. It's then very easy to tweak it 'on the fly' while producing music. The button assignments have also been carefully done and the arpeggios are playing in different speeds and types to create really lush arpeggiated sounds.

The refill is now available as a preorder, and while it is cheaper than the final version, it will of course include the final update. The current revision is number three, and it comes with just about everything the final version will have, only that the final version will contain more patches. The current patch count is 132. The refill also contains a few drumkits to really make it like a complete "Poly Ensemble workstation".

Here's the brand new demo track, "Emotional".

JX8P LED Disco

YouTube Published on Jul 19, 2012 by bitleyTM

"By pressing down a little key, it plays a little me... no! :) But by holding down PIANO 2 and PIANO 3 while starting up, you enter the JX8P test mode. It will indicate which (of the 6) voices are in use. And how many. Here's a little melody to demonstrate the 8P LED disco! (It's also a demo showing how aggressively it should be played, hehe)."
