Pacific Northwest Synth 2009 - Red Martian Performance

SYNTAR MMM and MIAMI LIVE SYNTHESIZER PERFORMANCE PNW SYNTH DIY 2009

YouTube via redmartian http://redmartian.com/.

Watch the skulls in the background.
"Here is a live performance of the MMM demo number four featuring the stack of MMMs behind, the Syntar (the father of the MMM) and the new AcidLab MIAMI in MIDI mode. The bass line, arpeggio and drums were sequenced in Logic. The Skulls were triggered via Logic (the percussion tracks) using Division-6's MIDIFY."

COWBOY (RIP) AND THE ROLAND VOCODER LIVE AT PNW SYNTH DIY 2009 FEATURING THE SYNTAR, MIAMI AND MMM

"This is dedicated to that old dog COWBOY who used to listen to his master's vocoder. The bass and some melody are handled by the MMMs behind. The Syntar is the carrier wave for the Roland SVC-350 vocoder. The Syntar also plays a sort of melody. The MIAMI is sequenced in MIDI mode from Logic. At the Pacific Northwest Synth DIY 2009"

Be sure to see this prior post for reference and lyrics. The third video is the studio recording of this track.

acidlab M1AM1 First Jam Uncut

"TR-808, acidlab, Miami, M1AM1, M1AMI, MIAM1, TR-606, TR-909, Bassline, Shagghie, demo, Klaus

Took the new acidlab M1AM1 for a spin the other night. This is raw, uncut jamming on it. Made the pattern in about 12 min., and just jammed on it the whole time. It's not mixed, this is just the main mono out. The shuffle settings are awesome, and this one I think does a great job to highlight at least ONE of the settings. This is practically a track already by the sound of it. The kick and toms play so well off each other that for a lot of applications a bassline and/or sub synth is not needed for a house vibe like this."

Acidlab de Bassline vs Roland TB 303 Bassline

Published on Oct 6, 2012 by AudioCentralMagazine

"A plain vanilla listening test of Acidlab.de Bassline clone (on right audio channel) against a vintage Roland TB-303 Bassline (on left audio channel). Analog drums courtesy of MIAMI drum machine. The two Acidlab units are under MIDI Clock from Doepfer Dark Time (here, only as clock source); the TB-303 is under Sync Out from MIAMI. Some fiddling with parameters on both bassline(s)."

Acidlab Robokop Eurorack Module

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"Acidlab Robokop is a Eurorack module of the trigger sequencer part of the company's analog drum machine Miami. It supports step input (STEP WRITE) and real-time input (TAP WRITE), allowing you to create rhythm patterns intuitively and quickly. Using MIDI IN and SYNC terminals, it is possible to perform in sync with a MIDI clock sync that uses other MIDI devices as a master, or a vintage rhythm machine equipped with DIN SYNC (SYNC24). The number of patterns is 8 patterns x 12 pattern groups (1 pattern up to 16 steps) = 96 patterns, and up to 12 tracks (songs) that combine patterns can be created and saved.
You can build a modular version of Miami by combining it with Acidlab's drum modules, or you can build your dream analog drum system by combining it with other companies' drum modules.

KOMA Pedals and Acidlab MIAMI - Effects on Beats

Published on Oct 1, 2014 KOMA Elektronik

"In this video we run the signal of the Master Out of the Acidlab MIAMI into the KOMA Elektronik BD101 and FT201 pedals. The KOMA Elektronik RH301 functions as the masterclock, sending the start/stop date and tempo to the MIAMI via DIN-Sync.

The tempo-synced Envelope CV Out of the RH301 controls the feedback of the BD101 via the Cycle CV In. The Inverted Envelope Out controls the cutoff frequency of the FT201 via the Cutoff CV In. The LFO CV Out of the RH301 controls the Delay Time CV In of the BD101, while one of the Analog Clock Outs of the RH301 syncs up the internal sequencer of the FT201.

KOMA Pedals and Acidlab MIAMI - Techno Beats

Published on Sep 30, 2014 KOMA Elektronik

"Techno time! In this video the single High Tom output of the Acidlab Miami is being processed by the KOMA Elektronik BD101 Gate/Delay and FT201 Filter/Sequencer effect pedals creating a groovy techno bass line. Other drum sounds went clean into a mixing desk.

Both pedals are being modulated by the tempo synced Envelope and LFO CV Outs of the KOMA Elektronik RH301, which is also the master clock of the whole setup, syncing up the MIAMI over DIN-Sync and the internal sequencer of the FT201 by analog clock.

acidlab miami bassline tr-909

YouTube via pac209. "more shuffle here"

midi-din sync jam session

"tr727 is master, midi goes to miami, from there din to 909 from there midi to bassline from there din to 606, it all works with no glitch or delay in timing. I chose this "exotic" wiring on purpose to demo the whole "hook up some din sync" thing. Some live programming is hard to do with one hand sorry! at the end you can see the 909 and the miami both in shuffle mode, really great."

Sherman Destroys Miami

Both filters are in lopass mode, with high resonance and envelope and FM and AM and LFO and the whole enchilada on a free run fiddling session over the front panel. No music, just real time varying Sherman controls against MIAMI drum machine."

32 VINTAGE DRUM KITS ON YOUR SOLTON PROGRAMMER 24

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
video upload by

"We were asked to beta test a new modification for the Solton Programmer 24 - expanding the drum section from a single kit to 32 vintage drum machines.
It adds the classics like the three Linn Drum machines, the Roland TR-808, TR-909, Roland CR78, Korg Mini Pops 7 as well as lesser known machines like the Elka Drummer One, Elka Drum Star 80, EKO Ritmo 20, Siel MDP40, Wersimatic 24, CRB Computer drums and many more 🤩
The additional 31 drum kits will perform just like the original Solton Programmer 24 drum section.

This is a total game changer for more than the obvious reasons - the Solton Programmer 24 has a sequencer, 8 separate drum volume sliders and 8 audio outputs as well as trigger capabilities for the individual drum sounds. It also sends clock and has Midi in/out/thru so it can be easily incorporated to whatever you got cooking with other machines.

It’s a non-invasive modification and fully reversible - no soldering - no drilling holes anywhere - it's installed by simply removing the four original drums eproms inside and hooking up a small additional board in place of two of them.

The modificationis divided in 4 memory banks of 4 drum kits each - you program the banks to your preference - this way you can quickly switch between the drum kits you use the most - or you can of course toggle through all the 32 drum kits sequentially.
Programming the memory banks is easy and sll the instructions you need are provided on Reverb :

https://reverb.com/item/79089448-spec...

The Solton Programmers drum section can accomodate 13 drum sounds per kit.
Some of the drum machines included featured have considerably less sounds and in those cases Andrea, the inventor and seller of the drum chip, has added more drum sounds in the same realm as the drum machine in question.
Due to the architecture of the Solton Programmer 24 the sample rate is 8 bit PCM 22500 Hz which sounds low but is definitely sufficient to maintain character and punchiness - I think it sounds damn good.
This video was made a few months ago and features a trial version that's now been upgraded - clips and smaller issues sometimes heard in the video have been ironed out and fixed on the version that's available for purchase.

Here's the complete list of featured drum machines
