ARP2600 clone TTSH first test with Ernesto Romeo from Klauss

Published on Jun 3, 2014 wutierson·27 videos

"First Wutierson TTSH unit, ARP2600 clone. Designed the remake of the original cabinet tolex to suit the synth because the original ARP2600 is a bit bigger.
This is the first burning test of the first finished unit. After a few calibrations the units can show their genuine sound, the spirit of the ARP2600 grey face is here! Very happy to see that this clone can do the ARP2600 job very well. ,
No external sound processing, the sound is just what comes from the synth. The reverb process is from the built-in spring reverb system.
Sorry for some hard clipping of the sound card, specially at the begining of the video, the 2600 have a lot of dynamic range and take a suprise when Ernesto Romeo did the first patch so I try during the recording with one hand stay filming and with the other adjusting the input fader of the mixer, to avoid hard clipping."

Wutierson Custom KORG Replacement Chips for 700, 700S & 800DV

via Toni Gutiérrez Ortiz on Facebook

"Good news for all owners and fans of the first Korg synthesizers : 700, 700S and 800DV!"

"Now available replacements for Korg custom chips! http://wutierson.com/en/news/115-keio-replacements Good news for all owners and fans of the first Korg synthesizers : 700, 700S and 800DV! Now available in the store Wutierson replacements for Korg Keio IC TS200011 for the VCO and Keio IC TS201012 for VCF. Inside the old synthesizers we can find a pair of sealed modules at the VCO core and at the VCF "Traveler " which were manufactured by Korg exclusively for those models. The problem came years later when for some reason a module failed and could not get the same part , unless destroying other synthesizer that uses it. Colin Fraser in 2010 did a great job making reverse engineering of each module , so at least, you could start to make a replacement with the right components, to avoid "sacrifice" of other old Korg synthesizers. Colin's work has been a big help to start making these replacement modules . We recommend to visit his website to learn more about their interesting work . http://www.colinfraser.com/ Now it will be much easier to repair one of those lovely synthesizers. Using Wutierson replacements you can avoid spend time with design/making dedicated PCB , avoid spend time looking for the parts, avoid spend time with select/match components to ensure an exact performance like the old IC's. The replacements are ready to install, just unsolder the defect old IC, put and solder the new replacement and continue playing! saving much time in the repair work."

This is the first Wutierson post.

elkorus v3 with clean guitar

Published on Apr 24, 2013 wutierson·25 videos
Update: vide re-Published on Apr 25, 2013 - new video below.

"First part of the elkorus v3 video processing guitar, traveling around the different sounds that can be obtained since lush tri-chorus to depth tru-zero flangers. The sounds are usually just guitar-elkorus-amp, but in some cases we add phaser or delay."

The elkorus is by Synthoma. via this post: "The élkorus is a chorus unit that emulates the classical "ensemble" sound of those string machines from seventies. That emulation is not achieved by any DSP technology or software. The élkorus sounds analog because is really analog."

"First part of the élkorus v3 session processing guitar. Now it's time to process a clean guitar. The sound path is guitar-elkorus-amp but we add delay or phaser in some moments.
In this demo we can travel around lush tri chorus, tru-zero flangers, vibratos, or kind of comb filter sound, all with 70's and 80's vintage feeling. The CV features allow to any guitarrist to tweak all the LFO's parameters via CV foot pedal. For more info just visit:

The String Machine project

via Toni Gutiérrez Ortiz on Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/matrixsynth/posts/613436698683476:

"The String Machine project

Now that a ensemble chorus processor like the élkorus v3 is available I can announce the beginning of the 'String Machine project' at the Wutierson site. Since some time I have the idea of collecting basic waveform audio samples of different string machines with chorus turned off, to sample it and obtain a precise emulation using an elkorus.

http://www.wutierson.com/en/news/101-string-machine-project

More sounds will be available very soon! Stay connected!"

Currently you'll find samples of the Logan String Melody, Roland VP330, and Solina String Ensemble.

The elkorus is by Synthoma. See the label below for previous posts.

Logan string melody meets the elkorus

Published on Sep 27, 2012 by wutierson

"This day, the Logan string machine visits Wutierson studio and it's imposible to don't do experiments with an elkorus.
The different types of chorus available at the Logan are very useful. It makes more versatile to process.
Tweaking the elkorus parameters + the Logan chorus I can make even more deep and lush chorus... ensemble of ensemble! a six line chorus! : )
No more effects are present, it's just Logan + elkorus v3"

Pearl Syncussion demo

YouTube Published on Jul 3, 2012 by wutierson

"You can see that not only "PEEWW" sounds can be done with this percussion synth.
This unit is modified, the OSC 1 can track the V/oct CV, you can play it in tune with any keyboard or system that can send CV.
Very rare unit with lot of sounds very analog and electronic feeling.
This unit is for auction at:" this auction

via this auction

"Very rare percussion synthesizer with lot of analog and very electric sound.

This unit was deeply restored and it is in perfect operating conditions. All of the sliders were opened and dry-cleaned from its inside. They are like new ones.
In the repairing tasks some critical electronic components were changed as a preventive action.

The "Tune" input is originally intended to use with a pedal as external tune control, so it uses a stereo jack (tip-ring-sleeve format) with the "ring" contact as hot pin. However, and since this unit is provided without that pedal, that jack was modified to be used as an external voltage control, with the "tip" contact as voltage input, so you can use a standard mono plug to feed it.

The Syncussion VCO's are not exactly intended to be used from a standard 1volt/octave control voltage. Nevertheless, and since the Tune input modification allows to connect an external CV control, at least the Channel 1 section has been calibrated to play it tonally from a 1V/octave mono keyboard control output.

The character of the Pearl Syncussion resides on its very unusual design on the VCO's and VCF's. It uses a non-standard structure, at least the typical structure found on a regular 1V/octave VCO with temperature compensation, so they has a very rough and non-lineal behavior (despite the modification on the CH 1 section).

The wooden cabinet is not exactly in collector's state. It has some scratches on its painted surface (see the pictures) but it is the only minus of this unit.
The two rotary knobs (Osc modes) are not the original ones.
Nevertheless, the front panel are in perfect conditions, there are not a single scratch on it or in the serigraphy prints.

Its serial number is 509467"

Kawai 100F test

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
YouTube Published on Jun 24, 2012 by wutierson

"Some sounds of the Kawai 100f for selling in ebay"

via this auction

"This unit has been serviced and restored recently by Synthoma (www.synthoma.net). It is not exactly in collector's condition due to minor scratches in the wooden corners, as you can see in the images.

Also, there are 2 caps (VCA gain and HPF cutoff) and the rotary knob (VCO octaver) which are not the original ones. The original plate with the serial number was removed by some former owner, revealing an'original-and-non-used' rectangular hole for a voltage selector switch. This option was not applied on this synth, so its internal transformer is suitable only to use with 220-230 volts. Remember it before plug it...

It's a really good sounding mono-synth, with a punch sound, and warm. The filter is awesome with good resonance and no bass drop. You can turn up the resonance and the bass is still here. Lot of character! The LFO is very fast you can do extreme FX's or add a wild growl to the filter. The oscillator range is wide and very stable. Very direct, just connect, process with some FX like echo or reverb and fit in the mix very well like the old classics but for less money. True analog, you can feel it when playing this synth."

élkorus output features - autopanner with élkorus

YouTube via wutierson | October 10, 2010

"Élkorus v.2

Among other improvements this second version includes three modulation outputs corresponding to each BBD (audio delay chip) modulation phase, which means:
LFO1+2 at 0º modulation phase
LFO1+2 at 120º modulation phase
LFO1+2 at 240º modulation phase

This video suggest just one use for those modulation outputs, like to modulate a three VCA's bank panned 1 to 50% left and right, 2 to 100% right and 3 to 100% left in order to obtain an auto-panner effect.
The sound source is the Roland JX-8P processed througt the élkorus at the
same time.

Gear used:
-élkorus v.2 (modulator and processor at same time)
-modular analog synthesizer with dotcom, stg and cotk modules (VCA's)
-Roland jx-8p (sound source)"

Playing Yamaha CS-80 with elkorus and other chorus units

YouTube via wutierson

"Test session with Sergio Koval playing his Yamaha CS-80 at Synthoma studio. The test is a chorus comparison with the CS-80 built-in chorus, a Digitech multieffect chorus, and the élkorus analog bbd chorus. Now the CS-80 can do a very nice strings, not only brasses!! More info about élkorus and synthoma in general, at www.synthoma.net"
