IEC on Korg Polysix/MonoPoly

via http://synthwood.com

"The customer just needs to send us the power/serial number plate and we'll send it back to them with an IEC installed along with 3 solderless crimp on blade connectors. You basically just cut your old power cable off at the plate on the inside and then crimp on the connectors we send."

Doepfer A-106-1 Xtreme filter AR-FM Demo

via Veqtor's corner:
"Audio rate FM using four ADSR's in loop mode, the ADSR's are running in audio-rate.
ADSR1 is doing the syncronization.
ADSR2 is synched to ADSR2 and connected to a real ring mod, X input.
ADSR3 is not synched and goes into real ring mod, Y input.
ADSR4 is synched to ADSR1 and goes to CV3 (adjustable +/-10) on the A-106-1
real ring mod out is going into LP in on the A-106-1 VCF.
Resonance is up quite high, some kind of clipping is always active, either +, - or both."

The Dübreq Stylophone has now been reborn for the 21st century in the form of the iStylophone, and will be available to buy from the Apple iPhone App Store on 1st December 2008."

Circuit bent instruments by David Cranmer

images at this auction
"Here is the latest version of a line of voice modulator effects boxes from nervoussquirrel.com. Plug your synth/drum machine/laptop/gameboy/microphone/guitar etc. into the audio in socket, and receive a pleasant range of flanging/ring modulation-esque/dalek/vocoder/distortion sounds from the output.

Features include:
• Seven different pitch modes
• A switch to automatically cycle through the different pitch modes to create a chaotic sequence of effects
• Input level
• Volume
• LFO rate
• Pitch dial, which works over a very large range
• 'Robotic' and 'wobbliness' modes
• Feedback function, allowing the unit to be played on its own without any input
• Heavy duty extruded aluminium case with power and LFO rate LEDs

The unit is powered by a 9V 'PP3' type battery (not included), accessible via a discrete drawer in the side of the unit.

High-quality switches and components have been used throughout, and build quality/soldering etc. is all very good. The front panel graphics are made from signmaker's vinyl.

Useful for annoying neighbours if used at a high volume. Instructions included.
Again, check out this link to hear what it actually sounds like:

Analogue sequencer / synth / sound creator / dub siren

images at this auction

You might remember this one from the video further below.

"Here we have a slightly different noise making machine. It is a 10 step analogue sequencer, with 2 internal VCO’s and some logic to allow certain steps to be muted from the sequence to give rythmical patterns and a portamento control to glide one step into the next. It is not a circuit bent toy but built from scratch, purely to make weird noises and sounds.

The way it works is that there are 10 sliders and the position of the slider equates to the pitch of the VCO or oscillator. A led above the slider lights up when the slider is active. A control determines how quick it steps from one slider to the next, and another control determines how many steps there should be from 1 to 10. Under each slider is a switch that drops the audio out from the sequence, so gaps can be created giving a simple rythmical pattern as the sequence steps across. There is a second VCO that is detuned from the first and this is enabled by another control. Another switch drastically increases the sequence speed so all the notes appear to play at once, this gives lovely sweeping sounds as sliders are enabled or sequence speed is altered. It also makes a neat dub siren, as 2-tone noises / wails / weird sirens can be easilly produced, and through a delay sounds mental. This unit was originally designed to fit into the Oceanus modular synth ( small picture! ) but works well as a stand alone machine, hence putting one into a case. It is a prototype unit and slightly modified for stand alone use.

Controls:
· 10 sliders for pitch control
· 10 switches for slider on / off
· 10 Led’s to indicate active slider
· Sequence speed control
· 2nd VCO pitch / enable
· Portamento / wail control
· Sequence length selector 1 – 10 steps
· Hi – Lo clock mode switch
· ¼” mono output jack
· ¼” mono output jack activated by push button – not much use!

It is powered from a regular 9v battery inside, so you have to unscrew the front to change it, but an allan key is provided! The actual sequencer is laser cut from a stainless steel sheet, so it should last a while.. likewise you can remove it from the case and put it in your own housing if you want to."

Paia Proteus Synthesizer

via this auction

"This is a Paia Proteus 1 programmable monophonic analog synthesizer with 16 memory locations! It uses CEM chips, has two oscillators with oscillator sync, an envelope generator, LFO, lowpass resonant filter, glide and noise-gen. The patch memory can be recalled and a series of lights show when knob settings match internal patch settings.

There is also a patch bay on the rear panel with control voltage inputs for many of the synthesizer functions."

Quasimidi Sirius

images at this auction
"The Sirius is Quasimidi's souped-up keyboard similar to the RaveOLution 309 and aimed directly at the dance market. It's filled with knobs, buttons and cool colors. Designed for total control for live performance or studio work!
Actually most knobs are dedicated to patch editing. It has a welcome new feature, a modern vocoder! There are also 8 control knobs for setting various mixer-type settings (level, pan, fx send). That's right, it has effects on board! It's got a great sound too! Choose from basic categories like 'bass sounds', 'dirty bass', 'pad sounds', 808 & 909 kits and much more! There's plenty of memory (96 user patches) to store your own creations. The filter and envelopes are flexible and sound very good.

Also taken from the Rave-O-Lution is the incredible pattern-based seven track sequencer with part mutes and tap-tempo! A truly useful dance music production synth capable for demanding studio use and creative live performance control with excellent sounds and a funky new vocoder! An ideal all in-one-synth for any DJ or dance musician!
