11hz Robot - Alesis Micron Album

"These tracks were an exercise in using one synthesizer as a random noise generator. The synth used was the Alesis Micron which has a modulation matrix and the ability to generate random values that can then be used to modulate different parameters. In the process of creating the patches I found a way to consistently freeze the machine. When it freezes up the generation of sound is completely out of my control, but it continues to evolve in interesting ways on its own...which is kind of fun. The synth froze during the recording of a few of these tracks, but I continued recording for a while before fading the songs out. Geiger Counter Eurorack Module - Brief Overview

"This is a demo video of the WMD Devices 'Geiger Counter' Eurorack module. In it I run a Nintendo DS with a Korg DS-10 cart into a Doepfer A-119 Envelope Follower module, followed by the Geiger Counter. First I give a brief, shoddy description of the 'Counter, then show the unaffected sound of the DS and begin to play with the Geiger Counter affecting the DS.

This video focuses on the Wavetable feature of the Geiger Counter. Subsequent videos focusing on the Sample Rate, Bit Depth and Wavetable (with an emphasis on CV modulation) are tentatively planned."

"A GetLofi.com 555 Oscillator Kit, available from www.GetLoFi.com/shop, has been installed in this device. The 555 Outputs both a square wave and a ramp wave at the same rate. The square wave, when oscillating at a high rate, fools the toy into thinking that someone is blowing into the toy, which is what would normally control the looping. The ramp wave can be injected into the pitch circuit in place of +4.5v, controlling the warble effect. The pitch resistor has been replaced with a potentiometer and body contacts. Finally a distortion knob was added, which is a 1k pot between the two leads of the added 1/4" audio output."
