ETI MAPLIN 4600 for sale on ebay

YouTube via cores303. via this auction

"Analog modular synthetizer with 4 vcos (and the 4th has two outputs) !!!

A matrix patch (like synthi aks or vcs3) bay allows for incredible routing options, This thing is ultra fat and makes the craziest sound effects, mega sci-fi sounds with its inbuilt spring reverb."

"Here is the latest from Metasonix, the all new D-1000 vacuum tube drum machine. It is the first all tube drum machine since the Wurlitzer Sideman was introduced 51 years ago in 1959."

"(probably) the final components all together for a modular sound machine i'm building. you're seeing/hearing just one of the combinations possible out of (from left-to-right in the pic):

--- a single-input state variable filter with separate outs for HP, BP and LP

--- passive mixer with 3 inputs and a single buffered output

--- 2 variable speed oscillators, each with CV input and separate triangle and square wave outputs

--- buffered amplifier with gain and volume control

--- 10-step sequencer with both clock and gate inputs and a single output

the only thing really missing in the breadboard layout is a dedicated variable voltage power control for the oscillator chip to get nice glitchy effects.

i believe in this configuration i have the VCA driving the triangle output of VCO1 and leading into the filter, which here has HP and LP being mixed together. the triangle signal is being modulated by the output of the sequencer, which itself is being controlled by VCO2... at the same time, the pulse (square) wave output of VCO1 is acting as a gate/reset for the sequencer, providing even more interesting modulation effects."

Driving a new distortion

"My first synth module (with blue lights) is a simple pair of 555 square-wave oscillators with very simple sallen-key low pass filters on top of each, with dials on top for pitch and cut-off frequency for each VCO. There are switches which can be used as momentary toggles or turned on for drones and rhythmic phrasing.

The other device I'm playing is brand new, but has been designed in my head for quite a while now: a 3-stage distortion unit (jfet buffer and hex inverters), with tone control on each of the first two stages and a switchable EQ on the third (basically it's just "brighter" / "darker"), also with amplitude control. The gray metal box behind the breadboard is the chassis; the three knobs, two switches, 1/4" in/out, battery and PCB all fit nice and snugly."

"Just a bit of a nice drone I worked up with my hardware to test my newly built Nebulophone (bleeplabs.com). The small silver box is the completed distortion unit I designed recently."

AutomoSynth MEDUSSA ACID ANALOG SYNTH +16 STEP SEQUENCER

via this auction
"Make insane analog effect loops, cool phrases, fat basslines or crazy percusion rhythms, change the sound in real time by tweeking the knobs on stage or in studio or connect it to your favorite effects (delay, flange, etc, etc)and create a wide sort of rhytm textures and soundscapes with this beautiful lighted analog sequencer synth box... And now create 16-step patterns ans save them in it's internal non-volatile memory, switch between the patterns while playing in real time and sync it to any midi device like a drumbox midi sequencer or computer and play live!!!

The instrument is powered directly from 110V or 220V AC. Dimensions: 167mm(W), 216mm(D), 83mm(H. incuded rubber feet and knobs)

The Medussa synth features:
one analog square and saw waveform VCO (voltage controled oscillator) with a huge pitch range, from subsonic to ultrasonic sound.

Glide module to add a portamento effect to the VCO.

One Low-pass vactrol based VCF (voltage controled filter)with cutoff and resonance controls and whith a decay knob which controls the cutoff parameter.

The Medussa features a 16 step analog-style sequencer.

Non-volatile internal memory to storage 3 sessions of 4 patterns each (while playing you can swith between the patterns in real time).

LCD blue back-ligthed display (very useful on dark stages).

5 buttons and pitch knob to control the sequencer (play/stop, cursor + and -, Ok and back buttons for intuitive control)

1/4 inch audio output, and a MIDI input to sync the Medussa with any midi device that sends midi clock signals, the Medussa can be synchronized at 1/4, 1/2, 1 and 2 times the tempo of the master clock midi device.

The instrument is ligthed with one ultra bright led that illuminates the panel layout and one ultra bright led to indicate the step that is being played, also very usefull (and nice) in dark stages.

The Medussa is packed in a cool laser cut clear acrilic case that shows all the hand made analog circuitry. It includes the power cord and user manual."
