The Din Sync DrumDokta is No More

via Din Sync

"The DrumDokta run is finished.

Yes that's it! The very last DrumDokta has rolled off the workbench. It was never any secret that it was a limited edition module and as they say, all good things come to an end. There are still a few pcbs left over so I may make a few more at some point but not anytime soon.

The DDB build has started.

The DDB build is well underway, please note that this is an expander for the DrumDokta and not a stand alone module. Everyone who bought a DrumDokta direct will get an email in the coming weeks for ordering, those with units from batch one and two will get the now obsolete rean knobs so that they match (yes I saved some) and those from the last batch will get the new style knobs. If you picked one up second hand and want to get a DDB drop me a line on info@dinsync.info and let me know your serial number to be sure to get the correct knob style.

The VCF303 project is underway.

Prototype pcbs will be here in the very near future, pretty excited about this one and I know a lot of you have been waiting quite a while for it. It's going to be well worth the wait. Drop me a line if you want to get on the waiting list.

The OSC303 will be back!

And finally giving this one a revisit with a MKII version. Not going to give too much away on this yet, but it will feature that ever so lovely not so square, square wave and some improvements over the original.

stay tuned"

""Iris" is a software synthesizer has been developed based on the spectrogram software editor of Restoration "RX"'s iZotope. The "RX", (time, graph representing the strength of the signal component frequency, and color in the vertical axis in the horizontal axis) by displaying in, but has realized the removal of visual noise component spectrogram audio material , in the "iris" has been announced today, it is possible to pin point the signal component extracted by using the oscillator and its spectrogram. This means that can be synthesized only retrieve and read the audio material "some part" is it has become possible. Of course, the selection is not only a simple circular or rectangular, it is possible to freely set by using a versatile tool. The "iris" is (such as Photoshop)-rich tools such as graphics software is included."

Update: new videos here.

Oberheim Advertising Timeline Added to Retro Synth Ads

Retro Synth Ads has just added an Oberheim Adversting Timeline. You'll also find timelines for ARP, KORG, Moog, and Sequential Circuits. These are not only a great way to see the synths introduced by a manufacturer over the years, but also how they marketed them and how their design choices changed over time.

"The Atomosynth Mochika 2 custom synth and step sequencer made in Peru.

They are incredibly rare and a very versatile. Can be used with the internal synth sounds and sequencer,
or as an external sequencer with CV and Gate to control other synths.
It can be Midi Synced as well.

Controls and Parameters
Main
On/Off switch: It is located in the rear panel, it turns on and off the unit.
Volume: It sets the main volume level.

Noise
Noise On/Off switch: It adds a white noise
Noise Depth: It sets the amount of white noise applied to the VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator).

Low frequency oscillator
LFO Wave: It sets the waveform of the LFO (Low Frequency Oscillator) to square wave (up), off (centre) and triangle wave (down).
LFO Depth: Is Sets the amount of modulation applied to the VCO.
LFO Rate: It sets the frequency (velocity) of the LFO; a led will indicate the actual frequency of the LFO.
MOD switcher: in the VCO position it sends the LFO signal to the VCO to modulate it. In the VCF position it sends the signal to the filter and affects the Cutoff parameter

VCO
VCO Wave: It sets the waveform of the VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) to square wave (up) and ramp wave (down).
VCO Depth: It sets the depth of the VCO.
Tune: It set the pitch range of the VCO, it has a huge range, from subsonic (were only the spikes on the wave are heard) to ultrasonic. You can use it to change in real time the tone of all the "Step pitch knobs" at once.

Filter
Cut Off: Set the cut off frequency.
Resonance: add a big resonance feedback.

Sequencer
Seq : It sets the mode of the sequencer: starts and stops the internal clock, or set it to midi synchronization
Tempo: It sets the Tempo (velocity) of the internal clock
Step switchers: These turn on and off each individual step.
Step Pitch knobs: These set the pitch of each individual step.

Inputs and Outputs
Audio Out: Audio output used to connect the Mochika2 with an amplifier or mixer. Use unbalanced ¼" connector (mono plug)
CV Out: Control Voltage Output, used to control other analog synth by the Mochika2's internal sequencer and the step switchers and step pitch knobs. The CV out is controlled by the step pitch knobs, so each step knob can set the CV Out from 0V to +4V. Use unbalanced ¼" connector (mono plug).
Gate Out: sends a +5Volt gate signal .
Midi in: Midi sync input, used to sync the Mochika2.1 with other midi devise. Use standard midi cable.

Synchronization
The Mochika2 can be synchronized with other Midi devices via messages such as Timing clock, start, and stop. (Mochika2 as slave)"
