"This is one of two of these customs we built for show at an Experimental Music Fest.. This is a light activated synthesizer with 8 oscillators ( two banks of four) it has push bottom momentary switches that turn the individual banks ON when pushed for maximum control of sounds also two separate outputs .. So you can run separate chains of effects for each bank .. It is powered by two internal 9 volt battery's that will last for years....."

"One of the great things about this MS synth is that it has a V/Oct input as well as the Hz/V so you can use it with other gear without extra equipment..."

Custom Pittsburgh Modular 'Cell 48'

flickr by Jeffrey Shell (click for more)

"Seen here with my existing pedal-style modular MoogerFooger and old Metasonix gear. Really digging the Cell 48 case as it's small enough to not be intimidating for starting out, while being big enough to support a usable number of modules to stand on its own."

Retro Synth Studio Spoiler

Published on Jun 8, 2013 snolan1990·29 videos

"As requested on numerous occasions by Sean O'Neill this is a brief studio tour. I am moving home within the next month so this video is almost as much for me to reminisce about this room in the future as much as it is for the few other like minded retro electronic musicians who are interested to get a brief insight into my set up before it is entirely disassembled and rebuilt in a garage.

I had to keep it brief because the tune wasn't very long but if anyone has any questions regarding the MIDI and Audio connections then feel free to ask a question.

The music featured in the video is a little idea that I liked but that never really went anywhere, I didn't actually use much other than the Pianet on it but I thought I would stick it over this video anyway as a way to air some of my less electronic/more funky sounding stuff for those interested. Even though he will probably never see this, thanks to Tom for playing the bass for me."

Some studio synth spotting. MPC Electronics MPC-1 Music Percussion System in there.

Ruin Electronics PCS-1 Pressure Controlled Synthesizer & VEP

Published on Jun 7, 2013 Ruin Music·26 videos

"Ruin Electronics PCS-1 Pressure Controlled Synth. 4 oscillators and a filter. The four knobs above the first four pressure sensors are for oscillator pitch, and the four sensor control amplitude of the oscillators. The fifth pad controls filter cutoff, while the knob controls output level. The large grey knob switches from a quick sustain for the pads to a long sustain, this is there for quick percussive sounds or long pad like sounds. I found it was easier to apply pressure smoothly than it was to remove it so the sustain knob helps a lot. The knob on the side of the unit is for sensitivity. 1/4" output. 9v battery."

"Quick-o camera feedback test using my Ruin Electronics VEP. Im holding two cameras and didn't have any tripods set up... So i couldn't tweak any parameters. LFO provides the undulating. sorry for the crap quality. i need to find my capture card!"

Quick note: I created a new Ruin Electronics label for these moving forward. The Ruin & Wesen label will remain for previous posts.
