A4 dub

"just jamming with a classic dub-influenced pattern...at the middle I started to load different kits in a random way, just for fun...some of them delivered bombastic results and now I want them to be used in a song...while trying different sounds a kind of "x-files" motif resulted that made the track even more moody"

via Daniel Anselmi on The MATRIXSYNTH Lounge:
"Elektron Analog Four 'paranormal dub' jamming: I got loads of fun with this pattern alone, just letting it run and change sounds on the fly. At 2´38" I started to switch kits over the same pattern and some happy accidents happened!. All you hear in this demo is just the Analog Four, direct recording from the stereo out in one take, no overdubs, no post-processing of any kind, pure A4 magic!"

David Cranmer's Owl Theremin

From The Nervous Squirrel who brought us the Badgermin, we now have the Owl Theremin.  It moves up and down.

"This was commissioned by Scott Williams, who got in touch to express his love of both owls and theremins. Surely the two could be combined somehow?.. The theremin is in fact an excellent PAiA Theremax, the same as used for the Badgermin. The owl rests on a sliding carriage, which can slide along four vertical bars fixed inside the log. When the motor is turned on a winch mechanism winds a length of sash cord, which loops over the top of a second pulley, which in turn lifts up the sliding carriage. When the carriage reaches the top, a limit switch is automatically pressed, switching off the motor. For the owl to descend, the owl activation switch is flipped once more, reversing the polarity of the motor, allowing the carriage to be lowered down onto another limit switch.

The antennae disconnect for ease of transportation, and the lower half of the stand can be unbolted. The owl variety is a Southern Boobok."  Video will follow.

Nord Modular G1 FM Synth with M4L Plugin in Controller by Cooptrol HG

via Cooptrol HG on The MATRIXSYNTH Lounge:

"For Nord Modular G1 users, I have made an FM synth patch and this M4L plugin to control it. It is a 4 operator FM synth with 8 algorithms, ADSR envelopes, and a resonant filter with AR envelope and overdrive. All knobs on the Modular are mapped to most relevant parameters. You can download this zip with the Nord file, the M4L file and a jpg with the knob mapping. http://www.cooptrol.com/CoopsynthFM.zip"

This reminds me, one of these days I want to design Nord Modular synths with dedicated iPad editors using TB MIDI Stuff or the like.
