X1L3 - circuit bent - synth mod - Yamaha RX17 with Synthacon Filter

via this auction
see X1L3 on eBay (RSS) for more.

video at the auction and previously posted here.

"MODIFICATIONS:

***DIGITAL DELAY***
RATE
FEEDBACK
NOISE FILTER
DELAY OFF/ON

THE DELAY AS ALWAYS WITH THE WAY I USE IT IN MY MACHINES DOUBLES UP AS A NOISE GENERATOR.
EVEN WITHOUT AN INPUT SIGNAL IT CAN BE DIALED UP INTO OVERLOAD AND SOME BRUTAL NOISE
AND GLITCHING.

***SYNTHACON RESONANT HIGH/LOW PASS FILTER***
RESONANCE
CUTOFF
GAIN

THIS IS A TRUE RESONANT FILTER BASED ON THE STEINER SYNTHACON AND NOT A SIMPLE CIRCUIT BOARD MOD
BEING DESCRIBED AS A FILTER.

***2 X 8 GLITCH MATRIX***

***DAMAGE CONTROL***
GAIN
FILTER
DISTORTION

THIS IS AN EXACT CLONE OF THE CLASSIC PROCO RAT STOMP BOX. IT'S AN EXCELLENT CHOICE OF DISTORTION FOR DRUMS AND SYNTHS AS WELL AS GUITARS.
WHEN APPPLIED IT CAN ADD LIGHT FUZZ TO DEVASTATING DISTORTION. THE FILTER AT HIGH RESONANCE
SOUNDS AMAZING THROUGH IT.

***GLOWING PANEL UNDERLAY***
ALTHOUGH SERVING NO PURPOSE AS FAR AS THE SOUND GOES IT DOES LOOK COOL WITH THE LIGHTS OUT :-)

THE RX-17 HAS FULL MIDI SPEC WITH MIDI IN. THRU AND OUT. IT CAN ALSO SYNC TO MIDI CLOCK."

"Rare, collectable vintage Maestrovos Consort valve keyboard/synthesizer 1950s

see http://www.debbiecurtis.co.uk/id99.html- for further information, The Official Maestrovos Information Centre.

They keep a register of all known models, and are only aware of 23 known models

"The first design model went on sale on May 5th 1952 at the British Industries Fair at Olympia, London, where it was hailed as the "Success of the Year" taking orders in excess of £80,000! that would be about 1.85 million pounds today!" (The Official Maestrovos Centre)
Its has been used, Not sure if it works, have not plugged it in as a one valve is loose and do not wish to cause any damage. One black key is missing.speaker grill is missing and paper cone speaker is damaged"

"This auction is for one custom analog synth and mini-amp made by foam_FORM. The "Trigguitar"
adds that sonic grit to taste and grinds it down, too. Features include:
- Atari Punk Console inside (capable of some extremely hardcore analog sounds) controlled by an Arduino Uno.
- 6 selectable LED's can be turned on to conrol the pitch based on their light frequencies and intensities
- 6 Photocells can also mod frequencies (most effective on higher pitches)
- Arpeggio programming is possible (screw off one of the side-plates on the instrument to access the Arduino's USB)
- Can be powered using a single 9V battery or with a choice of 2 different power adapters (slightly different tones).
-High-quality HAPP arcade pushuttons
-Includes a mini metal amp (9v battery powered!) with volume knob, 1/4" input jack, and sound/speaker/hole"

Trigguitar Analog _ one Published on Jun 20, 2013

"Here is an example of how you can use an Arduino (or ATMega-related product) to send CV signals to control an external synth. Here I am controlling an Atari Punk Console by sending a PWM (square-wave pulse using the preset "Blink" code) to a homemade digital-to-analog converter. The converter is made of 2 resistors in series which are connected to the positive pin of an eletrolytic capacitor and the Arduino "common" pin. The CV (where the speaker normally goes) is hooked up to common and the negative side of the capacitor. There you have it-- a cheap programmable CV converter!!!"

Metalbox ChaQuO Wiard 300 Format Analog Modular Synth Module

via this auction

"This is one of two custom built Metalbox Ian Fritz ChaQuO quadrature oscillator/chaos generators in Wiard 300 format.

The main function of this module is a versatile chaotic signal generator (cg). chaotic signals are signals that have varying degrees of interesting irregularity without actually becoming random. The Chaos Generator is an analog electronic simulation of the classical driven double potential-well problem, with the addition of extra gain in the circuit loop, and an extra cross-coupling path to extend the range of chaotic patterns available.

The double-well system is a "second-order" system and therefore requires an external driving signal. This is provided by the second part of the module, a sinusoidal quadrature oscillator (qo). The two parts of the module may be used together or separately. The Chaos Generator may be driven by any output of the built-in Quadrature Oscillator or by any external oscillator. The oscillator may drive the Chaos Generator or be used independently as a four phase oscillator for the usual spatial modulation and other applications. Both parts of the module are manually controlled. The Quadrature Oscillator has a frequency span of ~0.03 hz to ~3 khz in two overlapping ranges.

The module has a maximum current draw of 45ma..."

A-155 as Beat Slicer & Jungle Sequencer

A-155 as Beat Slicer from N K on Vimeo.

"This video demonstrates using the step inputs for Row 2 of a Doepfer A-155 sequencer for arranging audio. Eight different drum loops, some with effects on them, are patched from my DAW to the Row 2 inputs and all play continuously. The A-155 steps through all the different drum loops randomly (as set by the A-154). The sequencer advances in time with the drum loops, triggered by a four bar pattern. This trigger pattern also triggers a S+H filter on the sequencer output. The four bar pattern increases from 1/2 notes to 1/16th notes. The trigger pattern does not re-trigger the drum loops, instead it merely forces the sequencer to choose which loop you can hear."

Update:

A-155 Jungle Sequencer from N K on Vimeo.

"Here's another example of using the Doepfer A-155 Sequencer to manipulate audio signals. Eight audio samples are fed to the sequencer Row 2 inputs, in this case I use eight Jungle drum loops. A trigger pattern synced to the drum loops advances the sequencer and triggers a S+H module. The A-155 changes to a random step each time thanks to an A-154 Sequencer Controller. All the drum loops are always playing and are synced, so when a step is activated, it passes the part of the selected drum loop that is playing at that moment, rather than triggering that drum loop again. The result is similar to a DJ cross-fading between two beat-matched records, except there are eight records!"
