261e controlling 259e wavetables

Published on Jul 19, 2013 Todd Barton·109 videos

"This is a brief demo of using the audio out of the Mod Osc on the Buchla 261e to pick out various wavetables on the Principal Osc of the 259e via the FM In jack. By varying the speed of the Mod Osc and its waveshape you can get different rhythms and sweeps of the 259e wavetables."

CustomSynth Modules Including Speaker

via CustomSynth on Facebook

"what do you think , worth making or not"

I love the speaker headphone module.  I went to a recent get-together and almost brought a eurorack case as I thought it would be fun for some of my non-synth-savvy friends to play with it,  I didn't want to lug around a separate amp.  Having built in speakers would make bringing a small case a no brainer. Having a headphone jack for laptop tweaking without disturbing others would be nice as well.

The multiples with A-440Hz tuning module would be useful as well. I usually just tune my OSCs to another synth in the studio, but when playing with others outside of the studio I can see it being useful. Having the mults helps justify taking up the rack space as well. Then it's a mult with the added benefit of having an A-440Hz tuner, so yes, I think that module is a good idea as well.  Just watch your levels and be careful with those modulations!

And a new Synthe Meme is born. I do think the seals have him beat, and the sea, definitely the sea.

Richard EIS demonstrates Synth Gurning

Details: http://www.vinceclarkemusic.com/interact/synthgurning.php

"We all know about ‘Air Guitar’ (a form of movement in which the performer pretends to play rock or heavy metal-style electric guitar) and ‘Beatboxing’ (a form of vocal percussion primarily involving the art of producing drum beats, using one’s mouth, lips, tongue, and voice).

But what about ‘Synth Gurning’? Synth Gurning is defined as the art of producing synth sounds or effects using just the voice whilst pulling a funny face.

In order to give this little known artform the attention and respect it rightly deserves, we’re launching the worlds first International Synth Gurning competition..."

"This is a really cool 19" sound module. Unlike every other 1U rack synth I've owned, programming it 'through the letterbox' is actually fun, rather than a tedious, confusing mess."
