+ Haxxor HR-16 - An evening of Glitch, Damage & Distortion for Sampling (Jan 2014)

Published on Jan 31, 2014 HAXXOR AUDIO·40 videos

"Haxxed & Circuit Bent ALESIS HR-16 Drum Machine -

'High Resolution' Glitch, Distortion & Damage. Powerful sounds indeed...

The HR-16 is a master of fierce digital distortion, and can produce some of the meanest beats you're ever likely to hear. It's kinda like the ED-209 of digital drum machines...
It has a whole range of different uniquely electronic sounding Damage and Gate Effects. Add these with the Tones, Ring-Mods, Glitch / Weirdness, and use the Step-Sequencers to 'program' complex patterns of Effects and Modulation.

Use the Switches/Rotary Switch to - Twist, Warp, Mangle, Scramble, Disrupt & Distort the 'High Resolution' ALESIS HR-16 Drum Machine....

This machine has been fitted with a sophisticated Step-Sequencer & Pattern-Generator, which provides patchable effects & Modulation. Complex Patterns & Fills can be Cut/Dropped on demand with a single switch. The Step Sequencers can also be used to modulate and trigger other suitable gear (more on this in a later vid).

I have some interesting ideas that I want to try out on a fresh unit, so this particular machine is going on ebay in a day or two.

STOCKHAUSEN - SPIRAL

STOCKHAUSEN - SPIRAL from Giorgio Sancristoforo on Vimeo.

"An extract of my interpretation of Karlheinz Stockhausen's SPIRAL (1968)

The shortwave radio is coming from the internet thanks to the Wide Band SDR made available to the public by the University of Twente (Netherlands), all the rest is performed at the modular synthesizer Make Noise.

The performance still is not perfect, the helmet does not make life easy while reading the score and using the synthesizer, nevertheless this recording is a step ahead in my understanding of this piece.

I hope you will enjoy it.
Please take with some humour.

SPEKTRUMSYNTH 2 2

"Here's a quick tour of Spektrumsynth 2 Reaktor Ensemble. Additional videos will cover the instrument in more detail. One of the key features of Spektrumsynth is the intense modulation routing. The 'Animator Pad' is directly linked to the main target parameters, with additional routing through Grand Central Station. Pad movements are recordable and polyphonically activated, reminiscent of Rob Papen's Blade instrument. Synthesis types include wavetable, granular, fixed waveform, FM and tuned noise."
