"Inspired by scenes in one of my favourite films, this piece could be the score to an interrogation, 15 years in the future. The drums are from Roland's TR-8, a Pulse 2 is on string and rezo synth, while my old SH-5 acts as the metallic, dissonant voice."

"The 'S.B.G' is a compact utility module intended for the interfacing of guitar effect pedals with your eurorack modular system.

It provides both attenuation and amplification of audio signals for level matching together with a crossfade control to conveniently adjust the wet/dry mix of a processed signal. The module also offers regulation of outgoing CV signals for safer use of pedal expression inputs"

EURORACK MODULE - RYO - Optodist Published on Apr 17, 2014 DivKidMusic·16 videos

RYO stand for Roll Your Own. I thought this was the first RYO post, but it looks like I had one last December here. Some info from the video follows. Click through the link for more modules by RYO.

"Here's my overview video for the RYO Optodist, voltage controlled distortion and saturating VCA. It passes both audio and CV so you can clip and modulate your control voltages as well as audio.

For more information head to the companies website here -

As always any questions ask in the comments or message me. Like the video and subscribe for more coming soon.

If there's anything you'd like to see from my set up let me know and I'll try and get a video together.

"A compact, easy to use, easy to build and great sounding distortion module which will also work as a VCA if desired.

The Optodist is based on two Silonex optocouplers that gives its characterful overdriven sound and plucky dynamic response to CV, it is equally at home adding a bit of extra crisp to highs and mids or warming up your lows as it is turning a resonant filter into a howling beast or your drums into crushing carnage. We offer two choices of optocouplers, SR2 and SR3, the latter giving a tighter, snappier CV response and slightly less bleed. Please note that due to the nature of the vactrol-style optocouplers, response behaviour may vary between different factory batches.

Also on board is an LED based limiter circuit which limits the signal thru a set of 4 LEDs which can be seen on the panel, for adding a different flavour to your distortion. Experimenting with different types will affect the sound.

The Optodist is a novice-friendly project, it is a low part count, single-PCB build that only requires the most basic experience in PCB soldering and module assembly. Kits comes supplied with PCB, front panel (PCB material), component kit, knobs, power cable and mounting screws. Solder and tools are not supplied."
