MIDI Touch iPad controller for the Yamaha Tenori-on

Published on Aug 17, 2014 Marcus Padrini

"I created a nice template for controlling the Yamaha Tenori-on using the app MIDI Touch for iPad. All you need to do is connect the iPad to your Tenori-on using any compatible MIDI interface. It works activating the Remote Mode and controlling parameters via SysEx MIDI messages.

"Getting familiar with the OT"

Laurentide SynthWorks 13 (ft. moog werkstatt)

Laurentide SynthWorks 13 (ft. moog werkstatt) from Laurentide SynthWorks on Vimeo.

"Finally took the werkstatt for a proper test drive with the eurorack so I could get a decent demo of it in action utilizing some of the mod's. It starts the video out. The LFO is being modulated by Mutable Instruments Tides (slope is being modulated by a Make Noise DPO in LFO mode. The V/Oct is controlled by a sequence). The combined modulation of the Werkstatt LFO with it's own rate and Tides creates interesting variations of the rate. The Werkstatt LFO is controlling the PWM. The sequence is from Make Noise Rene. The VCF Out on the Werkstatt is going into a passive diode clipper (this is a prototype and part of a small line of devices that I am working on getting manufactured). Drums are handled by Mutable Instruments Peaks. The clicky hi-hat-y part is a Mutable Instruments Braids. The other sequence is a Make Noise STO controlled by a clocked set of Pressure Points.. Some Concertmate MG-1 'Bell Tone' for filler added. Then just some reverb and delay."

TX81Z FM Synth Sounds Demo 2

"All video and audio c.2014 G-Storm Electro
these patches can now be downloaded at http://gstormelectronica.blogspot.com/

Continuing sonic explorations of TWO TX81Z FM Synthesizer Tone Generators this time. Each unit chained for even/odd notes: one panned slightly left and the other to the right. Sounds are outrageous in the dry state but can be made completely preposterous with the Big Sky reverb.

Here's a rundown of the sounds:
0:09 Cymbiosis - Synth pad with cymbal harmonics.
0:38 Ritual - dark tribal bass. Add huge reverb to this one.
0:53 Darknights - Smooth filtered sawtooth with swell.
1:16 Heavyw8 - Super fat bass. Start your own earthquake.
1:33 Wowabass - It literally says wow.
1:44 Drum kit bass drum, snare, tabla, hats
2:34 Sawtopia - Smooth sawtooth pad w/ organ swell.
3:10 Saw Bass - Bread and butter bass.
3:19 Fortress - Super dark cello w/ vibrato.
3:51 Transistor - Hot pad inspired by the Novachord, transistor hum
4:20 Sync Bass - The way FM can bass
4:31 SmakMyBass - Prodigy Fat of the Land Bass on steroids."

Audio Damage Sequencer 1 Testing...

Published on Aug 17, 2014 Audio Damage, Inc.

"This test shows Sequencer 1's ability to drive Hz/V and S-Trig gear.

Sequencer 1 is being driven from the Silent Way Sync plug-in in Ableton Live via an Expert Sleepers ES-4. (The orange module you see to the left of the sequencer.)

Pitch is set to Hz/V, and Gate is set to Inv Gate (Yamaha monosynths use an inverse gate, not an S-Trig gate. Seq 1 will send all three flavors: normal, inverted, and S-Trig.)

Pitch and Gate are patched directly to the Yamaha CS-5's "Control Voltage" and "Trigger" inputs. The CS-5's output is sent directly back to Ableton Live.

The drums are from Audio Damage Tattoo.

Once the sequencer is running for a moment, as you can see in the video, we start hitting the REP and RAT buttons on Seq1. The buttons are labeled REP 8, REP 4, REP 2, REP 1, and RAT 2 and RAT 4. They repeat the last 8, 4, 2, or 1 steps, or ratchet the current step 2 or 4 times. These can also be controlled via control voltage to Seq1's "CV1" or "CV2" inputs, and RAT 1 and RAT2 can also be programmed per note."
