Update: price reduced

"The MOTM use 1/4 in. jacks, while the Blacet use 1/8 in. jacks. The MOTM modules have their own power supply, while there are 2 power supplies for the Blacet modules. All are interchangeable, as they use the same voltages and plug interfaces. The Blacet modules are housed in 3 of his rack mount frames, which make them compatible with standard 19 inch racks. I have them in 2 separate Road Runner boxes, along with a Furman power conditioner and a Lexicon MX400 effects unit. I also built a jack converter module to allow easy interchange between the MOTM and the Blacet modules. All modules were built by a doctorate-level scientist. The Road Runner racks are in amazing condition and super high-quality. They have spring handles, aluminum-reinforced edges, steel-reinforced corners, and twist latches. One box is 12U and the other is 5U. Below is a list of the included modules.

MOTM-300 ULTRA VCO 1
MOTM-300 ULTRA VCO 2
MOTM-800 ENVELOPE GENERATOR
MOTM-380 QUAD LFO
MOTM-410 TRIPLE RESONANT FILTER (this thing ROCKS)
MOTM-1490 LADDER VCF FILTER (Moog-type filter, this one in Frac format)
MOTM-950 TRIPLE POWER SUPPLY
BLACET 2100 VCO 1
BLACET 2100 VCO 2
BLACET 2790 MIXER
BLACET 2520 BAR GRAPH
BLACET 2310 FILTHY FILTRE
BLACET 2090 WIARD MINI WAVE
BLACET 2700 WINDOW COMPARATOR

BLACET 3010 MULTIPLIER/ATTENUATOR
BLACET 2910 MIDIVERTER
BLACET 2410 DUAL LINEAR VCA
BLACET 2970 DAD DELAY/ATTACK/DECAY LFO WITH GATE
BLACET 2930 SUPER VCA
BLACET PS505 POWER SUPPLY 1
BLACET PS505 POWER SUPPLY 2
BLACET PSCONN3 POWER DISTRIBUTOR

All of the original documentation is included in a nice protected 3-ring binder for easy reference.

This listing is for the MODULES and their SPECIFIC POWER SUPPLIES. I will also include the 3 rack mount frames that house the Blacet modules. If you would like the cases, the Furman power conditioner, a ton of patch cables, and the Lexicon effects unit as well, message me to work out a new price.

PLEASE do not ask me to break out modules and sell them separately. I am not willing to do this. If you are only interested in the Frac gear, or the 5U gear, send me a message to work out a price."

An Homage to Don Buchla From a Musician's Perspective via Todd Barton

"Don Buchla’s love of music and engineering is legend. Countless engineers, designers, scientists, and synthesizer builders have spoken of Don’s design genius.

I, as a composer/performer, would like to offer my perspective on Don’s musical genius. It seems to me that he has imbued his instruments with musicality. The deeper I delve into his modules the more an innate sense of this musicality arises. By musicality I mean the elegant, evocative, gestural and dynamic way his circuits shape, sculpt and massage sound. It is 'musical' in the largest sense of the word, a frame so big that it can hold all styles of music past, present and future. In Don’s own words:

'I try to design in such a way that things are pretty wide open in a modular system. I don’t expect any compositional style.'

How can a circuit be “musical”? As a composer I want an instrument that gives me single, fingertip control over many sonic parameters. Not unlike the continuous variable fingertip control a violinist has over the many parameters of his or her instrument."

Jawn Fire Soundpack (Week 13)

Published on Dec 15, 2014 KM Productions

"This week we have a two bank soundpack, which is influenced by some of the Gent & Jawns stems I sliced accompanied by a few choice trap samples. As always it is slightly dashed with influence and tone, but make no mistake, this is not a remix or cover pack in any way. Have fun, twerk it out (haha), and make it drop!!

For this video I also used a template I designed to replicate a Midi Fighter on both my iPhone and iPad using the app Touch OSC, which is wirelessly triggering the drumrack in Ableton. (Tutorial and mapping coming soon!)
