"The whole synth has been gone through by a specialist based here in Los Angeles, CA. The VCOs and VCF have been thoroughly inspected and function perfectly. Ring Mod, CV/Gate/Trigger/Audio Input and Pedal inputs all function as they should. New bushings for keys have been installed.

General information below:

The ARP Solus is a light and portable synth that lies somewhere between the Axxe and the Odyssey. The Solus is monophonic with 2 oscillators that include pulse-width-modulation and a digital ring modulator. An FM slider allows for an external sound source to be ring modulated through VCO #1 which gives this synth added function as an analog ring modulator perfect for creating wacky sounds. A great sounding ARP VCF (filter) adds a nice touch. Pitch bending is accomplished using a simple knob. Designed for portability this synth comes packaged in a very nicely built road case.

The synthesizer works great and all the keys produce sounds, all the keys have bushings and nice action. The keyboard also comes in a sturdy built in carrying case."

"this is how the GRAINS look like on a scope when a sinewave is fet into one of the cv inputs.
Soon the GRAINS will be available as DIY kit from www.ginkosynthese.com"

via www.ginkosynthese.com

"Coming soon as eurorack module!

This complete and easy-to-build DIY kit is one of the cheapest ways to get a voltage controlled oscillator in your modular.

It is based on digital FOF synthesis and sounds completely different than all other oscillators!

This module works with an (included) preprogrammed Arduino Nano, and to make it even better the code will be available on this website with highlighted parameters for creating your own sounds.
It can do minimalistic clicks and plops, fat basslines, chiptunes or screaming leads."

Music for Easels by Todd Barton, Bruce Bayard, Eden Mononym & Adam Scramstad

via Todd Barton:

"Dear Friends,

I am excited to announce the release of our new CD: Music for Easels!

Digital downloads available soon on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

This is a live recording of a rare convergence on November 7, 2014 at the Schneider Museum of Art in Ashland, Oregon where Todd Barton, Bruce Bayard, Eden Mononym and Adam Scramstad gathered to explore the improvised interactions of four Buchla Music Easels.

In this historic performance these Oregon sound artists met in quadraphonic space surrounding the audience with speakers, offering them a unique listening experience. The CD is a stereo mix of all four channels.

The five tracks on this live performance album range from the world premiere of Todd Barton's composition, Butoh for Easels, to compelling solo improvisations by Eden and Adam to exciting ensemble soundscapes.

All best wishes, Todd"

Black Waldorf Q+ Phoenix Digital Analog Synthesizer SN 0001

"It was purchased in 2007. It is serial number 0001 as indicated on the serial number sticker and displayed on the LCD screen when powered on.

It is in gorgeous cosmetic condition - barely a mark on it.

The Phoenix Edition have a reputation for stability issues. The unit for sale here occasionally needs to have its filter tuning and calibration/diagnostic menus run and then it is solid. This takes 5 minutes. This is especially true when moving the synth around to a new location.

Once it stabilizes it sounds incredible and works beautifully. This is NOT a synth to gig with, but is better suited to living in a studio setting.

This auction includes MANY desirable extras:

Spare AFM filter board acquired direct from Waldorf Germany (a valuable back up!)
Official Waldorf "Q+ clock modification" kit w/ install instructions (I never installed it, but this supposedly addresses stability issues).
Original owners manual.
Original Q+ analog filter addendum sheet.
Original power cord.
2x custom Q+ wooden side panels (if you prefer a more vintage look.)
1x spare original Q+ black metal side panel.
Original shipping box with matching serial number labels.
Original Waldorf Q 256 RAM card.

The spare AFM daughter board has 4 VCF channels on it - the synth has four of these boards in it to achieve 16 VCF channels. Remember these boards accounted for the $2000 USD price difference between Q and Q+! I don't think you can get this spare part anywhere.

Waldorf Germany sent me the clock modification kit but I never installed it because I was fine with the synth's behavior as-is, but the new owner may wish to do so. This was Waldorf's official fix for the Phoenix issues. Again, I don't think you can still get this official kit.

International bidders are welcome. Shipping will be at exact costs."
