Serge Patch: RING MOD & 2X PVCO INTO VCFS

Published on Jun 2, 2015 djangosfire

"This is what 2x Precision VCO's into Ring Mod, through the Variable Slope VCF (LPF out) can sound like.

The random sequence was created by the Smooth Stepped Generator using 2x DUSG (top and bottom of a single module) for clock and CV source. Using attenuation (via Scaling Buffers & Active Processor) I was able to have the SSG also mildly modify the clock speed of the DUSG.

Mono out for this patch..... through a Strymon Blue Sky Reverb.

Better audio this time :) I really wanted to share just how beautiful the Serge Ring Modulator and PVCO Sine Waves can sound... just amazing, and 100% real ANALOG!

Cheers! - Djangosfire"

"BRAND NEW RELEASE! HAUNTED GROUND - Ambience & FX from Abandoned Places, by Adam Pietruszko.

Introductory offer until Wednesday 3rd June - 50% OFF.

Haunted Ground is an avant-garde sound library inspired by the unique character of abandoned places. The structures that man left to crumble as time ticks away, now brought to life in this collection of samples. Created by sound designer Adam Pietruszko specializing in visual and aural documentation of forsaken buildings, to provide you with the atmosphere and spirit of these forbidden locations. This library took a year to plan, prepare and record. Carefully choosing locations as recording sites and inspiration was taken from countless photographs, schematics and abandoned structure history resources.

The mood of abandoned factories, warehouses and installations has been recreated via means of analog and digital synthesis, along with the sounds captured on-site via field recording, to bring you closer to the exploration, all properly mangled and warped, for that particular eerie feeling.

The sounds of this library give insight into the afterlife of these seemingly dead and quiet buildings. For beneath the rubble, rust and peeling paint, there lies another dimension. The ghosts of workers and inhabitants roam the rooms, halls, corridors and attics, longing for the life that had been taken away from their homes. The machines, furnaces and tools remember their duties, but their shift is over. Delve in the echoes of the past and explore their legacy and hidden nature.

This library is aimed at cinematic and game sound producers, looking to bring a touch of reflection, suspense and nostalgia into their works. Also a contemporary electronic musician will find many inspiring sounds to exploit.

All sounds have been captured in 24-bit, 48kHz audio and are split into 4 categories, for easy construction of your own custom abandoned places sound scenes.

Haunted Ground Demo 1 - Condemned Hospital (mp3)
Haunted Ground Demo 2 - Factory Drones (mp3)
Haunted Ground Demo 3 - Haunted Prison(mp3)
Haunted Ground Demo 4 - Old Cottage (mp3)

The categories and gear used in the recordings are as follows:

Entities and Spirits – eerie sounds of ghosts and lost souls, for that haunted feeling. You'll find chants, drones and atmospheres as well as numerous sweeps and whines. Most of these sounds were created using a semi-modular analog synth setup (Moog Little Phatty Tribute Edition Serial No. 1165 with CV Out Mod, a collection of Moog Moogerfooger analog effects + WMD Geiger Counter digital wave-shaping distortion unit).

Tinsizer & Klangbau Köln Modular Synthesizer Jam #TTNM

Published on Jun 2, 2015

"Here's a dark ambient jam with the Tinysizer and Klangbau Köln Eurorack modules.

The Benjolin is the master module, which sequences the other modules and the Tinysizer, using its Square and Rungler outputs. The LogFn module adds some more variation and the spring reverb and the Tinysizer's Digital FX give the sounds some spaciousness.

Questions or comments? Go ahead and post them below! :) Thanks for watching! Check out my channel for more Synthesizer Music.

Audio gear used:
- Eurorack Modular Synthesizer with the following Klangbau Köln modules: Rob Hordijk Twin Peak Filter, Benjolin, Logistische Gleichung / LogFn, qVCF, Röhren VCA / Tube VCA, Wavefolder, Wavetable Oscillator, Spring Reverb)
- Anyware Instruments Tinysizer (modular synth)
- Zoom R16 (recording & mastering)

Filmed with a Canon EOS 550D (Rebel t2i)."

"Ciat-Lonbarde Sidrassi Organ from the days when Peter Blasser was making each instrument by hand and in very small numbers. The larger barres create an EXTREMELY sensitive and expressive experience. Tap gently for percussion noises, longer presses for very articulate control over organ sounds ranging from sublime to chaotic.

Each of the seven tone generators is individually tuned and controlled, while master tuning and chaos knobs set the overall structure. Three inputs and three outputs (barre pressure, FM & chaos) for each voice are presented as brass screws for alligator-clip programming of the instrument and are also very responsive to simple touch via skin capacitance.

This rare and wonderful instrument is in excellent condition, functions perfectly and includes a power supply. I'm really going to miss this one - the new owner is a lucky person indeed and will certainly be blown away by this unique and incredible synthesizer. It's truly a work of art."

"Ciat-Lonbarde Cocoquantus from the days when Peter Blasser was still building his incredible instruments completely by hand, as much works of art as they are capable instruments.

This gorgeous unit is from the final production in the "brass screws" era and more than any other C-L instrument, the Cocoquantus makes it clear why Peter took this approach: the screws are extremely sensitive to the touch via skin capacitance, and connections can be established and the instrument programmed simply by tapping or touching a few screws at once. Wonderfully responsive leading to hours of sonic exploration with this unique and incredibly powerful device.

Two looping delay units (made of all discrete parts) provide the ability to capture, repitch, stretch, compress and otherwise time-mangle your audio (three inputs are provided to each delay, an XLR microphone with preamp, line level, and synth level)..... Assignable-curve Dolby filters give the ability to cut or mute either delay line via voltage or input control. Functions to flip/skip and reverse audio are all available as patch points, as is overall speed of each delay.

Sitting between the two delay lines is the quantussy oscillator device. Five interactive oscillators (with modulation inputs and multi-waveform outputs) modulate each other in ways that can be reordered and controlled in real time, and overall speed and chaos is available from two master control knobs. This quantussy device provides the coco-pilot with numerous interesting voltage patterns, perfect for modulating the delay and audio parameters of the delay lines.

Used this way the Cocoquantus provides an incredibly unique and powerful way to interact with your audio - it can reorder, re-shape, re-contextualize, it can mangle beyond all recognition. It can find voices and patterns in your inputs that would have remained undiscovered.

It's a mistake to think of the Cocoquantus as simply a fancy pair of audio loopers. It's better to think of this an an instrument that is controlled by incoming and sampled audio.

This one is hard to part with. It's beautiful and a joy to interact with, and a wonderful piece of art from the early days of Ciat-Lonbarse. It is in nearly mint condition, fully functional and includes a power supply. You will love it."
