Published on Feb 23, 2016 marzacdev

"The official trailer for the OP·A Arduino Shield Kickstarter.

The Kickstarter page is here:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...

OP·A is a multitimbral FM synthesizer shield that’s bursting with character.

Inspired by the classic sound-chips found in 90's video game consoles, keyboards and sound cards, OP·A gives your next project retro flavored sounds and music, all through a simple serial interface."

LAB:1 Synthesizer by Artificial Noise - New Case, Now with VCF!

Published on Feb 29, 2016 Artificial Noise

"New Video featuring the updated case design for the LAB:1 Synthesizer. Since the new case is larger I was able to add a Voltage Controlled Low Pass Filter!

The filter is interesting, in that when the resonance is cranked to max, it drives the filter hard causing a nice fuzzy saturation. You can hear the saturation here and there in the video as I turn the knobs.

The LAB:1 Synthesizer is a 6 oscillator experimental analog synthesizer. It features 3 audio oscillators (with Triangle, Sawtooth and Square waveforms), 3 low frequency oscillators (with Triangle and Square waveforms) and 1 voltage controlled low pass filter. The 6 oscillators can be routed in various ways by switches on the front panel. The 3 audio oscillators can also be triggered individually by three buttons on the front of the case or allowed to run freely. The LAB:1 is 100% analog.

A little delay and reverb have been added to the video.

"This is a Rare Korg FK-1 Synthpedal. A unique filter pedal. As far as I understand, this is the same filter that the Korg 700 has(the very first Korg synth from 1974) . This is a quite different filter and I never tried another FK-1 so I have nothing to compare it to but it seems like it is working fine. I took a video of this actual unit so you can judge for yourself - VIDEO When the balance pot is set all the way to the left side, you get the original source and when it is set to the right side you get the filtered signal. As you can hear in the video, even when the low-pass slider (the top ‘traveler' slider) is set to full range(all the way to the right), the signal sounds quite filtered, however, using the balance knob, you can make up for lack of high frequency if needed. I don’t have the expression pedal so I wasn’t able to test the Remote function.

"This one has been serviced where the sliders were rebuilt less than a year ago. Very amazing shape, hard to find this nice and still has the original slider caps. It stays covered when not in use so everything is still fresh and clean ready for a new owner. Power supply tests good and the filter has already had the factory correction done so that it sounds proper, total Arp!"
