Evolving Chords Eurorack Synthesizer Performance Demo

Published on Apr 4, 2017 gstormelectro

"Audio and Video by G-Storm Electro c.2017

Making use of evolving chord changes with my new DRE4MTR4CK Euro module available on Reverb. It has 4 independent tracks of polyphonic pitch control:
Track 1: Pittsburgh Synth Box, internal filter
Track 2: DNA Symbiotic Waves, JP-6 Filter clone
Track 3: Disting MK3, Doepfer SEM filter
Track 4: Rings, no filter.

Clocking direct to envelopes, triggering pitch changes manually. Track 1 pitch CV is going through a PM Toolbox slew limiter. Mix is going to Timefactor delay. Recorded direct through a Mackie 802 to a Tascam DR-05."

crOwBX demo - DIY Oberheim OB-X clone (4 voice polyphonic)

Published on Apr 4, 2017 der oberling

"I recently finished my crOwBX synthesizer to the point that it's finally playable.

My previous demo only featured an uncalibrated single voice ([posted here]). This demo utilizes the whole 4 voice calibrated analog power of the beast.

Since I'm no keyboard player I prerecorded some notes and chords in ableton, corrected them, quantized them where needed an played them back looped - sorry for that :-)

The signal is completely dry - the crOwBX all by itself through my Focusrite Scarlett 18i6 into Ableton. Only the last bit got a little MIDI-Clock synced LFO from my MIDI-CV unit ;-) .

A unison demo is yet to come... It's a little challenging to keep the 15 minutes limit.

This project was "in the making" now since 2013. That's mainly due it's over 3000 parts to solder, debugging, initial calibration (which is really excessive) and finally I wanted to develop my own MIDI-CV unit for this which I did. All in all it's very rewarding to have it all up and running finally and it sounds gorgeous to my ear - but listen for yourselfs :-)"

Schtang - Kitsch (Live Volca Sample Demo Jam)

Published on Apr 4, 2017 Schtang

"For high quality downloads of my hardware jams, head to my bandcamp: https://schtang.bandcamp.com/

Jumped out of the studio and into the kitchen for a cheeky jam! Complete with fake bananas, toy dinosaurs and loaves of bread.

Keen to try my hand at busting out some tracks in different locations, especially as we move into the warmer months! This was a bit of fun and I was very chuffed to sneak my girlfriend into the show too.

You can check out her lovely analogue photography over on her Instagram page:

As always, thanks for your support!
Please subscribe for more Volca Sample tracks, tutorials and demonstrations :)
All sounds used are from the Factory Default sample bank that ships with the box."

New Waldorf Quantum - 8 Voice Hybrid Poly Synth

MESSE 2017: Waldorf Quantum - 8 Voice Hybrid Poly Synth

Published on Apr 4, 2017 sonicstate

Update: a couple of renders in via Soviet Space Child.

Hybrid Digital/Analog 8 voice polysynth

Some specs from the video:

3 Oscilators featuring:
Wavetable - waldorf wavetables
Waveform - traditional analog waveforms
Partical - granular sampler
Resonator - resonator filter bank

Nave synthesizer with speech and spectrum functionality built in - waveform & spectrum will display on the screen like in the app.

All three oscillators are freely assignable. On the original Waldorf uWave & XT, you had two oscillators that shared an assignable wavetable. On the Waldorf Q and Blofeld you had three oscillators, two freely assignable wavetable oscillators (the Q had two sub oscillators for each), and a third oscillator with more standard waveshapes.

Two dual analog filters. Voice inserts, inserting into the digital voice, going out to the analog, and two OTA filters for each voice that goes back into the voice.

Another digital former - drive, bit crusher, digital filters, etc...

Six envelopes - three on the panel. Envelope curves.
Three Digital Effects
Multistage envelope, glide...
Six LFOs
Touch display
Two layers for multi-timbral
Arpeggiator
And more...

Hyve Synth Tutorial - 60 poly analog portable synth

Published on Apr 4, 2017 cuckoomusic

"This is the Hyve Touch Synthesiser, designed by Skot Wiedmann. It's currently campaigning on Kickstarter here:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...

The Hyve Touch Synth is very unique, with it's portable form factor, lovely design, and 60 polyphonic analog architecture. It runs on a 9v battery, or with a power adapter. The sound is an analog square-ish signal. But with a tad of filter on the expressive touch controls, and the hexagon chord friendly layout it makes it highly playable. More so than what you would expect.

Here's a tutorial on the preassembled Hyve. How to play it. What it sounds like. And a number of "jams" or improvised sessions, in combination with mostly a reverb and delay."
