"Here's a complete walk-through of my pick and place setup using the low-cost Neoden 4 pick and place machine from Neodentech. This setup is not fancy or expensive, but is good for small shops building small runs of boards on a regular basis."

"This baby is a beast of a Synth. A classic vintage Angela 6 voice Poly."

Angela?

"Towards the end of the eighties, the British company Cheetah released their finest, the MS6. It's a 6-voice polyphonic/multitimbral analog synthesizer in a single-unit rack module. It has two digitally controlled oscillators per voice (12 DCOs) to provide better stability, and they sound surprisingly warm and musical. It's got the same sound chips (CEM 3396) as the Oberheim Matrix 6/6R and Matrix 1000 but the MS6 is multitimbral! Get creative with layering patches for ensembles or Trance heaven! Hidden within this little unit are some wonderful string, bass, lead, voice and percussion sounds!"

Korg Radias-R Module in Unique Custom Case w/ Keyboard

"This is a Korg Radias-R module that thinks it's a Mini-Moog!

It has been skilfully built into a totally custom vintage-styled wooden keyboard assembly, utilising an EMU xboard25, which features aftertouch, pitch-bend / mod wheels and additional programmable knobs. Unit has genuine hardwood sides / front / rear panels.

The 2 x PSU's for the units are integrated in the assembly, therefore you only need a standard IEC kettle lead to power it up.

The keyboard connects via MIDI 5pin socket on the rear of the Radias: this plug can be unplugged to allow Radias to connect to other outside sources or to allow the keyboard to pluginto other gear..?

You already know about Radias' capability if you are looking at this: it is a very powerful VA synth / groovebox / arpeggiator / vocoder."

Nord Lead A1 - "Quatro Arpeggi"

Comparative Irrelevance
Published on Aug 5, 2017

"Just a quick little ditty on my brand new NL1A. This thing is just awesome: great sounding, and blindingly fast to program.

The synth is four parts multitimbral, and in this little patch I have each part set up using the arpeggiator in a different subdivision of the master tempo. The wheel controls the subdivisions for each part in a different way (one increases, another decreases, and all within different ranges).

I'm also using the built in effects, and the ping-pong delay is especially featured here. This was recorded directly into my camera with no audio post-processing other than a master limiter to set the volume.

This was all just a matter of seconds to set up – no joke! The attention to detail in the design of the user interface and selection of features (and more specifically the lack of unnecessary minutia) is seriously impressive. This thing is an absolute blast to play!"

Dreadbox Abyss Overview by ProckGnosis

"Part 1 of an overview of the Dreadbox Abyss, 4-voice analog(ue) synth(esizer/esiser). Go to 02:45 to skip the babble and brewski intro. For more specific sound examples, check out the “Dreadbox Abyss - Twiddling With and Exploring the Sounds” video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwiVW...). [posted here]

This vid covers the VCO, VCF, and VCA sections of the synth (ad nauseam in places). Part 2 will cover the Mode, Mod Wheel, LFO, Effects, and Dip Switch sections of the synth.

A little bit about the synth:
- 4 voice polyphonic analog
- 1 variable-waveform osc and 1 square-wave sub osc per voice
- 24db Murmux low-pass filter
- 2 independent LFOs with 4 selectable wave forms
- 4 playing modes - multi-channel, unison, polyphonic, and chords
- 3 effects sections including Reflector (for flange/chorus effects), Delay, and Phaser

I just haven’t found a synth that can sound as vintage, other than older vintage synths. Looking for that slightly, wobbly, unstable analog synth sound (ala Boards of Canada, etc)? This does it, but in a very controllable way. I do sometimes find myself missing a second oscillator to fatten up the sound a bit in polyphonic mode, but given the variable wave forms and the vintage sounding effects, I’m missing it much less than I thought I would.

I’ve said it in half a dozen other posts, but hats off to Dreadbox for doing synths just a little differently than the rest of the folks (and that’s different in a GOOD way)."
