BUCHLA 285E FREQUENCY SHIFTER FEEDBACK & 296E - Examples 02

Published on Jan 13, 2018 djangosfire

"Today I’m further exploring a Todd Barton suggested 285e feedback patch found here: [posted here]

And am extending the idea to include a 296e!

Basic patch setup:

- 285e Down Output into 285e Signal In
- 285e Up Output into285e FM Input
- 285e Down Output patched into 296e ODD Input
- 285e Up Output patched into 296e EVEN Input
- 296e Spectrum Transfer set on to both ODD to Even, and Even to ODD
- 296e Display set to Envelopes
- 296e ODD audio output patched to 206e Channel 1 Left
- 296e ODD audio output patched to 206e Channel 6 Right
- I patched 296e Envelope Out CV from channel 15 back into the 285e Frequency CV jack

Audio from this video was straight out from the 206e main, through the console, into DAW (which I used some UAD EMT Reverb).

Now, go explore some sounds!!

Cheers,
- Djangosfire"

Pyramid vs Pyramid: should you upgrade your Squarp sequencer from Mk1 to Mk2?

Published on Jan 13, 2018 Olivier Ozoux

"Right before the Holidays, I got a nice surprise from Jean at Squarp Instruments, offering me a free upgrade for my Pyramid. So I accepted the offer, in exchange for a video showing the differences between the Mk1 and the Mk2

Gear list on Kit: https://kit.com/o0/musique-electronique

While I really happy with the updated case on the Mk2, because everything else is still exactly the same, I would have happily kept my Mk1 if I hadn't had this offer from Squarp."

Two Note Per Step Sequence: Two Moog Sub 37s and a Modular.

Published on Jan 13, 2018 Resonant Anvil

"Model 15 Modular by MOS-LAB. Upper Sub 37 is silent until the third iteration of the 64 step sequence. Its volume is activated via MIDI by the volume control on the lower Sub 37. The Model 15 comes in on the 5th iteration, following one line only of the sequence. Reverb from Strymon Big Sky."

TR-08 Individual Outputs from hard panning

Published on Jan 13, 2018 offworld network

"Setting up the TR-08 for individual outputs from hard panning left and right. This enables individual sounds to be panned precise control over volume in the mix or have EQ and FX added to individual sounds.
This method is not as versatile as separate outputs through the USB but its a simple and effective way of processing the 08"

HYPERSYNTHETIC// Prophet-6, OB-6, MS2000, Juno-106, System-8, Squarp Pyramid

Published on Jan 12, 2018 MR TUNA Music

"🙏🙏🙏 Presented for your approval--- The blazing synth sounds of the Sequential Prophet 6 to the slamcity beats of the Roland TR-8, making way for JC on the OB, and then it's like magic to icy accent from the MS2000. Quick cut to the Juno106, then it's rapid fire on the System-8 before we get a little twisted and remixeded on the MX-1 with Jared taking some cool pics on his phone because MEMORIES 📸"

The New Sismo Zer0 A

The Zer0 actually made it's first appearance in the video posted here. The following are some quick details from Sismo:

"Zer0A combines a lfo pass through a simple attack-release envelope generator, controled by squarewave oscillator. Zer0A has two external inputs, one to control oscillator pitch and the other to run the envelope generator. And three outputs: lfo rate, eg out and audio output."

Pianoish Moog

Published on Jan 11, 2018

"Trying out a patch idea for a piano sound on the Moog 3C (patch idea based partially on an article by G.Read, 'Synth Secrets', SOS magazine, October 2002)

Modules used (all RA Moog from around 1968): 5 x VCO, 1 x Noise, 1 x LPF (for tuning the noise), 3 x 4 :1 Mixers, 1 x Fixed Filter Bank, 1 x Spring Reverb, 2 x VCA, 2 x Env Gen, 1 x VCLPF, 1 x Multiple, Keyboard,
Output Mixer with EQ

The patch is as follows: 3 square wave VCOs tuned to unison into a mixer and out into a fixed filter bank for fine-tuning the tone, then into a VCA/envelope with a very long decay (this models the piano strings)

A second bank of 2 VCOs and some tuned noise go into a second VCA/envelope with a very short decay then into the reverb module (this models the hammer hitting the strings)

These two signals are mixed into the LPF and the long envelope controls the frequency of this

No other sounds or effects are being heard

I only wish it was 88 note polyphonic!
