Best Ambient Synth Shootout #65: Modal Craft Synth - Song 3
Published on Mar 17, 2019 Christian's Sonic Spaces
"This is the third song with the Modal Electronics Craft Synth. This time I did a minimal drony/noisy/soundscapish one with this little beast.
I used it for the recording together with the following FX pedals:
4ms Dual Looping Delay, Alesis Ampliton, GFI System Specular Reverb 2, Roland TR-8 (for sidechaining).
The signal went then via a Presonus StudioLive 16.0.2 mixer straight into the pc.
To create the complete song I recorded several stereo audio tracks, each played live. The final song was then mastered with just a bit EQ and compression on some tracks."
The Sequential Prophet Rev2 Volume I Presets by ROBUST AMERICAN PATCHES
"For more info or to purchase these sounds visit www.robustamericanpatches.com
This is the first installment of demonstrations for our new bank of sounds produced with the Sequential Prophet Rev2! We suggest listening on the best speakers you can muster. Laptop pinchers aren't reproducing whole parts of the sound that you need to hear! (All sounds in this demonstration were recorded into Nuendo at 24Bit/44Khz through an Audient ASP-880)Absolutely no extra processing was involved. This is a pretty good mix of the types of sounds you can expect to find in this collection. Creating these sounds and working with the Rev2 so closely was our pleasure. You can view the complete patch list at: drive.google.com/file/d/1cL68JcC7…view?usp=sharing"
Buchla 223e Arpeggio Exploration
Published on Mar 17, 2019 Jens Paldam
"The Buchla sound, that is sometimes described with adjectives like 'wooden' or 'nasal', is to me when the machine seizes to be a synth and starts to become a living creature. Within a sequence, these sounds become vowels between consonants.
My easel is made up of a Roman Filippov 208 Clone, a BEMI 223e an Electric Dompteur Model hED, a Voltage Circus Model hVC and a Time and Triggers Model 2TT lent generously to me by Northern Lights Modular."
Whiskey Cake by Baghead
"One pass recording with one easel channel into a Roger Linn Adrenalinn III pedal (sequenced filters) , H9 for Reverb"
O-Coast & VCV Rack - Krell Patch
Published on Mar 17, 2019 Omri Cohen
"So this is my take on the Krell patch from the O-Coast manual. I find the story behind it so interesting, and it sounds so cool, I could listen to this for hours...
Actually, there is not so much going on. The O-Coast is the only voice, and I'm sending it to VCV Rack for some good old reverb from Plateau (Valley). I did add some patching of my own to this, like sending the square wave to the balance, and modulating the balance with the extra LFO."

"It suffered from the battery leakage problem. I opened it up in 2017 and replaced the KLM367A board with one from Synthronics (web:syntronics.de).
Basic MIDI capability was added back when it was in use via the MIDITEC MK-6 board. This added MIDI but sacrificed the arpeggiator and chord hold functions. You can remove the MIDI functionality and reclaim the arpeggiator and chord hold if desired (instructions included).
It is a fully functioning PolySix, the case is in good shape."
