DOmilasiezento - Italian ARP2600 Clone by Mirco Trentin

Some pics and details in via SoundMiT who also brought us the one of a kind MCS70 by Elka's Mario Maggi.

via the creator Mirco Trentin:

"Two years of hard work, many hours spent for development and many hours for soldering, at the end domilasiezento is alive. Domilasiezento is a dialect Veneto word of 2600. I diced to build it 2 years ago, I'm searching for schematics, pcb, components equivalences, i redraw all pcb's with a CAD but I keep the original layout. Result is DOmilasiezento, Full size, same graphics 3rd generation with 4072 VCF, midi implementation with duophonic cv, case copper with modern tolex and of course a spring reverber.

This is my creature.
have a fun

TM Synthesis FLUX - Temporal Modulation Rhythm Sequencer For Eurorack Launches on Kickstarter

Follow-up to this post. You can find the Kickstarter here.

"Flux is a Temporal Modulation Synthesis™ Complex Rhythm Sequencer for Eurorack.

With Flux, I aimed to create a rhythm sequencer that went beyond quantized rhythms. I wanted the ability to compose true polyrhythms, Euclidean rhythms, realistic and complex rhythms easily. Developing Flux with these goals in mind resulted in the Temporal Modulation Synthesis algorithm. I believe that with Flux I have now arrived at the perfect set of parameters to interact with the TM Synthesis algorithm easily. The ARM Cortex-M7 provides the processing power to execute the module with 64-bit double floating point precision, calculating rhythms with an extremely high degree of accuracy.

This next section has a lot of info about Temporal Modulation Synthesis, if you don't care about the details, prefer to experiment or just want to make exciting rhythms, skip to the Humanize section!

WHAT IS TEMPORAL MODULATION SYNTHESIS?

Temporal Modulation Synthesis applies a curvature to time, creating rhythms by modulating the linearity of trigger distribution within a step (each step can output a density of between 1-64 triggers). This video shows the density of a single step sweeping from 1 to 64:"

Don Martin's Moog Music Cincinnati Modular System

via this auction

Not the sharpest pics, but this is definitely not something you see everyday. A Don Martin Moog Modular. Don owned the rights to Moog Music while Bob Moog was running Big Briar. Bob sued Don Martin to get the name back in time for the release of the Voyager and Bob Moog's re-entry into the synth market. There was also Alex Winters in the UK who own the rights to the Moog name at the time, making Minimoogs (you can see one here). Don Martin also made a Minimoog, often referred as the Donimoog.

This is a fascinating bit of synth history.

From the listing:

"Don Martin's Moog Music Cincinnati Modular System
8 modules + Power Supply and cables
you can find info about these modules at moogmodular.com and on the net (Bob Moog, Don Martin, lawsuit, etc.)

1 X 9501A oscillator controller
1 X 9501B oscilator
1 X 9504A low pass filter
1 X 9504B high pass filter
1 X 9503A random signal generator
1 X 9502 voltage controlled amplifier
2 X 9511 enveloppe generator

power suplly
connectors cables
s-trig cables (+trig converter if needed)

those modules are sold as collector items.

they are faithfull recreations of the first moog modular, using the same strange power voltage, fully compatible with original moog systems, but not with modern standards.

the high pass filter is not working properly, due to a component failure, but I can probably have it fixed.

I deliberately set a high price to avoid an impulse buy which could create a misanderstanding.

If you are interested, you can contact me, ask anything you would like to know and make an offer.

The photos are a little blurred so I will post more and better photos later.

Thanks for your interest."

Makeshift VHS Tape Ribbon Controller In 3-Minutes

Published on Feb 11, 2020 gstormelectro

Audio + Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2020

Haven't had any synth repairs or DIY hacks in a while.
A buddy sent a FB video link and asked what's up with this.
Somebody was using a videotape as a makeshift ribbon controller.
Using the tape to send a control voltage to their modular gear.
You may have seen something like this, but wondered about the details required.

Does it actually work?
If so what are the necessary steps?
Let's find out.

LedRover is a multi diode overdrive module that adds complexity and harmonic richness to any signal.
Three types of diode clipping modes are avaliable:
* Red LED for a compressed drive that is rich in harmonics.
* Blue LED for a punchy & crunchy Drive.
* Germanium diode for a more vintage overdrive.

Technical Specifications
Custom made Drive potentiometer with 300 degrees rotation allows for more fine control and higher resolution of the drive amount.
Three bass boost levels.
Drive CV input with attenuator for external control of the drive.
Drive "Color" - changes the drive brightness.
input gain amplifier for pushing the drive to it's limits.
Dual input with gain amount.
Noise filtering and resettable fuses on the module's power input.
Reverse current protection.

Current Draw
+12V : 5mA
-12V : 5mA

Dimensions
Width : 8HP
Depth : 25mm

Reduxer
Stereo sample rate/bit reducer

Reduxer is a stereo sample/bit reducer effect module.
Depends on it's signal, It can produce dynamic range of sounds from knurly bitcrushing to formant/vowel style effects.

Technical Specifications
Custom made Redux potentiometer with 300 degrees rotation for extra "crashing" resolution.
Two proprietary reduxer circuits for stereo effect.
Inputs are normelized - supporting mono to stereo configuration.
Stereo spread offset for "motion" effect in the stereo field.
Redux Drive CV input with attenuator for external control of the bit reduction rate.
Wet/Dry mix.
input gain amplifiers for pushing the effect to it's limits.
Noise filtering and resettable fuses on the module's power input.
Reverse current protection.
