LedRover is a multi diode overdrive module that adds complexity and harmonic richness to any signal.
Three types of diode clipping modes are avaliable:
* Red LED for a compressed drive that is rich in harmonics.
* Blue LED for a punchy & crunchy Drive.
* Germanium diode for a more vintage overdrive.
Technical Specifications
Custom made Drive potentiometer with 300 degrees rotation allows for more fine control and higher resolution of the drive amount.
Three bass boost levels.
Drive CV input with attenuator for external control of the drive.
Drive "Color" - changes the drive brightness.
input gain amplifier for pushing the drive to it's limits.
Dual input with gain amount.
Noise filtering and resettable fuses on the module's power input.
Reverse current protection.
Current Draw
+12V : 5mA
-12V : 5mA
Dimensions
Width : 8HP
Depth : 25mm
$170"
Reduxer
Stereo sample rate/bit reducer
Reduxer is a stereo sample/bit reducer effect module.
Depends on it's signal, It can produce dynamic range of sounds from knurly bitcrushing to formant/vowel style effects.
Technical Specifications
Custom made Redux potentiometer with 300 degrees rotation for extra "crashing" resolution.
Two proprietary reduxer circuits for stereo effect.
Inputs are normelized - supporting mono to stereo configuration.
Stereo spread offset for "motion" effect in the stereo field.
Redux Drive CV input with attenuator for external control of the bit reduction rate.
Wet/Dry mix.
input gain amplifiers for pushing the effect to it's limits.
Noise filtering and resettable fuses on the module's power input.
Reverse current protection.
Current Draw
+12V : 25mA
-12V : 25mA
Dimensions
Width : 8HP
Depth : 20mm

First patch with Magneto from Strymon
Published on Feb 2, 2020 Omri Cohen
"Lyrics by Leonard Cohen:
For I have been thru many lives
and no one follows me
I am what you were last night
and I am what you'll be
The moment that you track me down
I surrender there
I leave you with a bag of cracks
that you know you must repair

Create Brian Eno style generative music: 20 ideas and tools for Ableton, Eurorack, DAWless and VCV
Published on Apr 24, 2019 loopop
“Generative Music” is a term coined by Brian Eno to describe music that is always different and changing, generated by a system but led by creative guidelines, rather than typical music which follows a set of predetermined notes intended to be played the same way every time.
This video includes 20 ideas and even more tools for creating generative music inspired by Brian Eno's generative work. It's focused on ideas rather than one platform, and covers eurorack, iOS, VCV and Ableton tools for creating generative and probability based music.
TIMELINE OF IDEAS AND TOOLS:
0:00 Defining Generative
1:05 Simple randomization – Ableton MIDI LFO Max4Live device
2:10 Scaling random pitch – Ableton Random and Scale MIDI effects
2:50 Pitch to modal chords - Harmonaig from Instruo, with arpeggiation by Quaid Megaslope and Boss Bow Tie from ALM playing Rings from Mutable Instruments

10 creative ways to use LFOs (Synth tips and tricks)
Published on Apr 16, 2018 loopop
"I recently received for review the VariFO, a new and relatively cheap quad LFO module from VoicAs (http://voicas.audio) - a new eurorack company. With so many LFOs on tap, it inspired me to put together a clip with beginner as well as more advanced and creative LFO uses.
In this clip I explain what an LFO is, demonstrate how its basic parameters work (depth, rate, shape), and show ten different things you can do with LFOs:
1. Tremolo
2. Vibrato
3. FM synthesis
4. A Wobble effect with two LFOs
5. How an LFO can also be used as a clock or trigger in a modular setup
6. Using an LFO to sequence beats
7. Random sequencing with LFOs
8. How to use an LFO as an arpeggiator
9. How to create new LFO shapes
10. How to use an LFO as a sequence-synced timed VCA gate.
Used in this clip alongside VariFO are the Arturia Minibrute 2S, Disting MK4 from Expert Sleepers, and Plaits from Mutable Instruments"

Why Eurorack is AWESOME: 5 wish-list features added to DFAM by Moog
Published on Apr 10, 2018 loopop
"In my review of DFAM and the comparison to Mother-32, I mentioned a few features that Mother-32 had and DFAM didn’t. The ability to have different length sequences – either less or more than 8 steps, the ability to sequence notes, not just continuous pitches, an LFO, glide and ratchets.
And as you know me, if a feature is on my wishlist, I’m going to do my best to make it happen.
This video focuses on the beauty of eurorack and semi-modular synths – where either through internal patching or with the help of a handful of modules, you can get almost everything you want.
Alongside Moog’s DFAM, I use Polyend Seq, Expert Sleepers Disting in Quantize and Slew modes, and a cool new analog quad LFO module called VariFO from a new modular company called VoicAs (I’ll be reviewing this in an upcoming video because it has a few cool features I’ve never seen before - here's their site: http://voicas.audio)"
