"For your consideration is the extremely rare and weird ZAelectronic Zebralogic Circular Oscillator VIII modular synthesizer. This is basically a eurorack-type synthesizer housed in a round, clear case. Visually stunning, sonically bonkers, and functionally dense, here's probably your only chance to get your hands on a Zebralogic Circular Oscillator VIII.

"For your consideration is the Sequential Circuits Prophet 2000 sampler keyboard synthesizer. The unit is in very good condition for it's age. It has the upgraded memory and a newer disc drive purchased from Wine Country.

Please see our other listings. All proceeds from sales here go to keep the Vintage Synthesizer Museum open during this time of social distancing.
Thanks. Keep safe and healthy.

The Prophet 2000 was a sampler keyboard manufactured by Dave Smith's Sequential Circuits (SCI) and released in 1985. It was the company's first sampler, and, despite its low quality and technical limitations by modern standards, marked a shift toward affordable samplers of better quality than its predecessors. It is also considered to be one of the earliest multitimbral samplers.

ROLAND SH-5 - "A Sample & Hold Odyssey" | Experimental Sounds & Synth Demo

Published on Apr 10, 2020 synth4ever

"Demo of the Roland SH-5 analog synthesizer with a focus on S&H tweaking and experimental sound patches. This Roland SH-5 synth demo features extensive use of Sample & Hold generator + oscillator, LFO, filter, mixer, noise, ring modulator and other adjustments to showcase various sounds and patches on the Roland SH-5.

The Roland SH-5 is an iconic and rare vintage monophonic synthesizer that was manufactured from 1976-1981. It features 2 VCOs (32' to 2' with triangle, saw, square and pulse waveforms), 2 LFOs (LFO1 = saw, reverse saw; LFO2 = triangle, sine, square) and 1 S&H with sample time & delay time.

The Roland SH 5 also has 2 VCF filters: 1 multimode LP/BP/HP and 1 Bandpass, both with cutoff and resonance. 2 Envelopes (1 AR and 1ADSR) can be routed to filter, osc and amp, and there is env sensitivity and keyboard tracking on the filter. On the back of the SH-5 are various inputs/outputs for CV and other control.

Additional Roland SH5 features include portamento, pitch bend, ring modulation, soft & hard sync, white & pink noise, external audio input, VCA panning, VCA-triggering via S&H, LFO2 or external trigger. A comprehensive mixer section allows for routing of 5 audio signals through VCF, VCF+BPF, BPF, or direct to VCA.

The Roland SH-5 is a classic vintage synthesizer that can output massive bass, piercing resonance, create amazing textures/noise/FX, and of course leads and other standard tones. The additional bandpass filter is also a key feature that sets the Roland SH-5 apart from many other synths in terms of tone.

Roland SH-5 are becoming increasingly rare on the second hand market, often commanding high prices as many consider it to be the pinnacle (alongside System 100) in sound for early portable vintage Roland monosynths. If you have the opportunity to try a Roland SH-5, do not hesitate as it is a fantastic instrument."

Akemie's Taiko Sounds

Published on Apr 10, 2020 ALM TV

"‘Akemie’s Taiko’ is an authentic complete FM synthesis based drum voice created using original Yamaha IC’s. It builds on the same technology used in the mighty Akemie’s Castle but in a more complete triggered voice form featuring both signal generation and envelope shaping.

Big thanks to Andrew Duff for the video synth visuals."

Future Sound Systems OSC2 Recombination Engine // a UNIQUE triple analogue Eurorack oscillator

Published on Apr 10, 2020 DivKidVideo

"Here we have a total unique triple analogue (or analog for our stateside friends) oscillator for the Eurorack format from Future Sound Systems. The OSC2 Recombination Engine has a master ‘Scissor’ oscillator that can audio rate switch, sync and glue waveforms together from separate positive and negative DNA oscillators. The Glue section is a VCA that merges the positive and negative waves at the rate of the Scissor with options for additional level modulation and mixing internal or external sounds with an added input.

It’s a massively varied unit with everything from soft and sweet sines and triangles working independently to a totally mad as a box of frogs noise oscillator and everything in between. Coaxing out digital DX style musical FM has been easy, it’s a total wizard with AM synthesis and the unique wave the waveform level VCAs work. So I look forward to further exploration.

Roland JD-990 | The Best Roland Module Ever?

In 1993 Roland released the JD-990, a synth module that has grown into a cult phenomenon. Many hail this as the greatest Roland synth module ever.
As with the JD-800, the 990 was forgotten at first. Few people saw the potential as it came between the popular JV-80 (and module 880) in 1992 and the mega popular Super JV-1080 that came in 1994.

Compared to the JD-800 this enhances pretty much everything. Some key differences are:

- More waveforms, 195 vs 108 on the 800
- The ability to pan each TONE individually, essential to make it so wide and lush
- A matrixed modulation setup
- Oscillator sync
- Effect structures
- Filter can self-oscillate
- Delays can be tempo synced to MIDI
- You can add a random modulation to a sound, sort of emulate drifting oscillators
- One slot for adding a SR-JV expansion card (the famous SR-JV80-04 vintage card comes to mind)
