Bastl Instruments BUDDY // Stereo mixer with preamp and TRS inputs for hybrid setups and more!!!

video upload by Bastl Instruments

"Buddy is a four-channel eurorack stereo mixer optimized for hybrid setups. Channels A and B are optimized for eurorack sources (either mono or stereo) with a slight boost (×2 / +6dB). Channels C and D are line-level pre-amps that can boost the signal up to ×10 / +20dB and feature stereo TRS jack inputs for directly connecting desktop units without further adaptors. All channels feature a clean boost via the high-quality, low-noise NE5532 op-amp (same as on the Dude), which delivers smooth overdrive - that can be used to overdrive clean stereo signals. Several Buddy mixers can be chained via jumper cables on the back to expand the number of channels without losing precious inputs."

「SLEDGEHAMMER」by SYNTHFOX ~overview~

video by SYNTHFOX Channel

"Overviewing my newest module, SLEDGEHAMMER. This is a wicked dynamics and harmonics processor with huge feedback play capabilities!"

SYNTHFOX Reverb Shop

"Meet SLEDGEHAMMER, a vactrol gate core experimental dynamics and harmonics processor. This module serves many needs, such as mixdown, wavefolding, waveshaping, distortion, VCA, suboctave generation, and much more. The three signal inputs - one with a dedicated thru-zero VCA, and four differently processed outputs provide endless tonal possibilities and a core module for creative patch-programming.

SLEDGEHAMMER is intended for heavy feedback usage. The INPUTS section mixes down three signals (audio or CV) for further processing. The first and second inputs have dedicated attenuators. The third input is special: it is a voltage controlled crossfader that fades between the negative and positive copy of the input signal. The FOLD output is normalized to input 2, and the SHARP output is normalized to input 3, so patching audio to input 1 and adjusting other inputs' volumes already creates a self-patched feedback loop.

The heart of this module is a vactrol-based dynamics processor ('gate') similar to the widely known low pass gates. It processes the mixdown of the three inputs from the INPUTS section: the big LEVEL knob, two Level CV (LCV) inputs and the PING input control both the amplitude and the slight filtering of the signal: from quiet and dark to loud and bright. The first LCV input has a dedicated attenuverter; the second one has a simple attenuator. The PING input expects a gate, and upon receiving one, will strike the gate with a sharp decay-only envelope. This input has a simple passive circuit behind it, which can be creatively exploited: for example, striking it with stepped voltages, e.g. a S&H output, will make the circuit skip some strikes, and the remaining strikes will have different velocity. The DULL / VIVID switch on the left chooses the type of the response: the DULL setting yields daker, quieter tones, while the BRIGHT setting makes the gate sound more open and loud. Both modes are useful in different applications.

Finally, the output of the gate core is passed through different harmonic processor to create the four SLEDGEHAMMER outputs: GATE, FOLD, BEND and SHARP.

Arcaico Kairos VCA-DELAY #modularsynthesizer #eurorack #arcaico #delay

Arcaico Instruments

"Kairos is analogue hybrid that reproduces the classic vintage BBD/Echo tape delay with VCA integrated, delay tone control and a dedicated wet out. The delay time range goes from 0.05ms to 1.1sec.

Technical specifications:

VCA (with attenuator)
CV time control (with attenuator)
TONE control delay
WET dedicated out
LOOP function
FEEDBACK control

10 HP
50mm deep"

"Reverb in eurorack format inspired by the infamous Reverberation Machine, built in THT technology with passive welded 'point-to-point' components, characterized by a VCA input and a post reverb distortion.

The input section is controlled by an integrated VCA. The TONE switch darkens or lightens the signal. The Decay, controlled in CV, through LDR resistor allows to create a large reverb: increasing the Decay to maximum level the feedback extends to infinity. The GAIN control allows to saturate the post-reverb signal. The RAVE button short-circuits the IN and OUT of the module, so as to obtain an infinite and self-regenerative feedback, creating auto-oscillation of the effect."

Frequency Central Seismograf BD and SD

Frequency Central

"A short Seismograf BD and SD jam, just randomly auditioning some of the drum types, and tuning/distort effects. No real plan!"

"Seismograf is a PIC based drum module featuring coding by Jetroid. There is currently a choice of two PICs which may be used with Seismograf, ‘BD‘ and ‘SD‘. As you might expect, BD contains a range of 8 bass drums, while SD contains a range 8 of snare drums. The drum sounds are 10 bit encodings of some of our favourite electronic kits from yesteryear (see chart below). It is not possible for the user to load their own sounds onto Seismograf PICs, but there is a chance that we may release alternative drum sets as the years roll (!) by.

Select

This knob is used to select one of the 8 sounds to be triggered. It has a CV input associated with it, and when a jack is inserted into the CV input, the knob is used to attenuate the incoming control voltage. This CV input responds to 0V to 5V signals.

Tune

This knob may be used to detune the drum sound either upwards or downwards. It has a CV input associated with it, and when a jack is inserted into the CV input, the knob is used to attenuate the incoming control voltage. This CV input responds to 0V to 5V signals.

Distort

This knob may be used to introduce either one of two different types of distortion to your chosen drum sound. When set to the mid position (12 o’clock) no distortion is present. Turning the knob anti-clockwise will cause the sound to be progressively clipped harder, while turning the knob clockwise will cause the sound to be progressively more bitcrushed. This knob has a CV input associated with it, and when a jack is inserted into the CV input, the knob is used to attenuate the incoming control voltage. This CV input responds to 0V to 5V signals.

Secret Sauce

Try running the sawtooth output of an audio rate VCO into Seismograf’s trigger input, then wiggle the Tune knob manually, or apply a control voltage to the Tune input. Wow! What’s happening here then? When I first demo’ed this feature to Jetroid he buffered for a few minutes before performing a cold shutdown, unable to process what was happening to his code. Seismograf is acting kinda like a fliter, right? Well maybe! Probably more akin to oscillator sync really. As the incoming trigger is so fast, Seismograf only gets to play the initial part of it’s waveform, less on high notes, more on low notes. Additionally, there is naturally higher frequency content the higher the note and so forth. Whatever’s going on, we’re sure that you’ll agree that it sounds freaking awesome. More than just a drum module, right?"

ORPHO - VOODOO DRUM series |EURORACK TUBE DRUM MACHINE- BD RELEASE | EURORACK MODULAR DRUM MODULE

HOX808

Beim Einstellen ist also etwas Behutsamkeit erforderlich.

Mutable Instruments BLADES // Eurorack dual/stereo multimode filter, folder & saturator

DivKidVideo

"Here we have the new Mutable Instruments Eurorack module ‘Blades’. It’s a dual multimode stereo filter that can be used as a dual mono filter, stereo filter, dual filter in series of parallel blends with CV modulation over EVERYTHING! An exciting addition in the input stage which takes your inputs through a dynamic saturation stage that can also blend (so you can mix both together) across to a wavefolder. You can modulate the input drive so CV modulated saturation or wavefolding is possible before going into the filters."

A DUAL MULTIMODE FILTER…

A CV-controlled overdrive circuit capable of wavefolding.

A clean 12dB/octave multimode filter self-oscillating cleanly across the audio range.

Times two. And this could have stopped here.

FOR ALL THE IN-BETWEENS…

What sets Blades apart is that options commonly presented as multiple choices (low-pass or high-pass? serial or parallel?) are presented here as a continuum, ready to be explored at the twist of a knob or with a CV.

The filter response is continuously variable between low-pass, band-pass and high-pass, and delivers intermediate shelving responses, for more nuanced spectral coloring.

A dual crossfader circuit allows the routing between the two filters to smoothly vary from single to parallel to series.

AND MORE…

Originally thought as a complex filter, Blades turns out to be capable of much more:

A dual distortion with spectral color control?
An oscillator mixer with crossfading, wavefolding, and enough filtering to clean up the mess?
A voice, using one filter as an oscillator, then distorting, folding it and filtering it with the second filter?
A complex oscillator capable of FM, PM and AM?

ADDAC604 - Dual Filter - a little stereo filter that likes a little filth!

Oscillator Sink

"I bought the ADDAC604 Dual Filter module pretty much on a hunch - it fit the form factor and feature set that I was after but I struggled to find a demo so I had to just "trust" that I'd like it based on other filters in the ADDAC range.

So this video is the demo that I would have wanted to find before I made the purchase - hopefully it'll help you out if you're looking to pick up a stereo filter module some time soon!

"While developing our ADDAC105 4 Voice Cluster module we made a new multimode filter to place after the summing mix stage. We were so pleased with it’s sound that decided to release it as a dedicated filter.

To make it more interesting we duplicated its circuitry to be able to use it in a stereo signal path.

To make it more versatile we added a switch to set the working mode from Stereo to Dual Mono where both filters can be used independently.

In Stereo Mode the Left Cutoff is used to control the Right Cutoff.

In this case the Right Cutoff Knob and CV Input are simply bypassed and will have no impact on the Right Channel operation.

This allows immediate sync of both filter frequencies when the Stereo position is engaged.

Optionally there’s a jumper in it’s back that, when placed, connects the Right Controls back to the Right CV control allowing the possibility to control the offset of the Right Channel Cutoff.

Resonance is independent on both Modes and still has to be set manually to match both channels.

Both the Audio and CV inputs are normalled from the Left into the Right channels.
As standard plugging any input to the Right channels removes this connection.

This module will also be available as a full DIY kit.
