Lorre-Mill Comb Room

"The comb room effect combines a dual delay (room circuit) and a comb filter to make echo/reverb-type sounds and resonant feedback. The comb filter is in the feedback path of the delays. An envelope follower gives movement to either the comb filter or the room circuit. The comb resonance control in conjunction with the comb return control can create self oscillation. The preamp for the 1/4” input has selectable gain of 10x or 40x and a soft clipping characteristic. The comb and room circuits are both built around 1 bit delta-sigma converters. In the case of the delays, the analog to digital conversion is done in the PT2399 echo IC. The comb filter uses a simple and gritty A/D converter built of logic chips and op-amps. Which gives the filter a characteristic sound. Clock noise can be heard at lower frequency settings. Patching the room output to the return will bypass feedback through the filter, allowing all frequencies to echo."

"Oberheim Two Voice System with mini sequencer. It has been fully refurbished at great expense ($1,300 total) with a few mods that make it easy to integrate in a modern setup. The mini sequencer is clockable from an external clock by connecting it at the back and lifting the clock rotary button. The two SEM voices are also controllable separately by CV/gate connections at the back. Finally, a regular IEC Prong is replacing the old one for ease of use with any standard prong cable.

Fully restored by SynthCity in Chicago for a new bill of health, it sounds amazing, and I am only letting it go because I got my Four Voice back from service. Great cosmetic condition for a close to 50 year old synth. The Rolex has a few scratches here and there. They are visible on the pictures I provided. Of note, one of the 4 rubber feet is missing."

"8 Voice Ob-Xa with lots of experience, care and a host of upgrades. This Ob-Xa feels fantastic with a new fatar keybed and Encore Midi, and auto tunes quickly thanks to multi turn calibration pots, recapped voice boards, and an upgraded power supply. The Encore midi is a significant add - the expanded 120 patches are now accessible via sysex (single or all), and many parameters are now automatable/controlled via midi CC messages via your DAW or controller. Portamento, volume, Filter, Resonance, PWM and depth, all envelope controls, Osc freq and detune, LFO functions, 2/4pole switching, tune request, and a lot more."

"Perfectly working Rev 2 SSM Prophet 5 with Kenton Midi; Upgraded, Serviced, Calibrated. Includes 1 hard to find SSM 2030 chip. This Prophet has been cared for over it's life, including keybed rebushing, quiet Toroidal Transformer upgrade and power supply rebuild, full recap, battery, Kenton Midi. The kenton midi makes playing and controlling it a breeze w/ CC filter and resonance control, volume, pitch bend and mod wheel, sustain. A really great version of the Rev 2 Prophet 5 - nothing sounds like them."

Vintage Dual Manual Sequential Prophet 10 Demo 2

video upload by Randy Piscione

"Another demo, this time a bit more involved. Patches are my own, playing is a little rough as usual, all sounds are from the Prophet except the drums. Actual tunes are not lifts, just for demo purposes. I also tried to duplicate a pair of famous bass sounds.

0:00 Chameleon
1:49 Bells jam
2:55 Birdland - I did this one for the FVS demo, figured I'd see how it turns out on the Prophet. This was interesting, I think the bass is better on the Prophet but the FVS certainly does nice chords.
3:48 Blues jam - two slightly different organ patches, using Double mode to combine them.
5:57 Nice to nuts - for the last 6 minutes, I played the controls live on both manuals, ending up with spaceships, machines, room tones and whatever else comes out of two Prophets."

#demo - DX7 Yamaha - Some interesting tones / Alguns timbres interessantes

video upload by Fernando Costalonga - Keyboards, Synthesizers...

"This video showcases the demonstration of some DX7 presets. They were stored on one of the cartridges I managed to obtain. I avoided including brass presets and some marimba variations, highlighting those that caught my attention the most, such as certain strings and distinctive options.

In the video, I used some simple effects from the DAW (Vegas), which I edited (reverb, delay), to illustrate how keyboards from the 80s can still be used today. The presets become more prominent and contemporary due to the effects processing. With a keyboard like the DX7 and some effect pedals, excellent modern tones can be achieved."
