General Electric Keyboard

via Smoov-E

"Here are some pictures of my GE N4001A White and Red.

I picked this up at the swap meet. It wasn't working so the guy just gave it to me. I added a 9 volt battery snap connector and a 1/4 inch out. Now I run it thru my Wah pedal. Simply amazing."

Nanoloop for the iPhoe

"Nanoloop is a mobile music software that provides all functionality you need to create nice electronic music. With its clear, minimalistic interface it plays almost like a game while still allowing for complex musical structures as well as sheer noise."

Morphing Terrarium (pt. 1)

Morphing Terrarium (pt. 1) from katavist on Vimeo.

"This is a demo of the Synthesis Technology E350 ("Morphing Terrarium") eurorack module and its waveforms. Two Doepfer A-179s (Light-to-CV) were used as controller modules. Left hand controlled Borg filter cutoff, right hand speed of the LFO driving the sequence. This first part shows the xy- and z-outputs in normal mode. Part 2 will focus on the 'hidden' variable-phase-shift mode."

Morphing Terrarium (pt. 2) from katavist on Vimeo.

"This is part 2 of my demo of the Synthesis Technology E350 ("Morphing Terrarium", here in variable phase shift-mode (accessible via jumper 7 on the back of the module) that enables the waves to form lissajous patterns. I added a Doepfer BBD and an Analogue Solutions VCO to spice up the drones. Sorry for the compression. I wanted the video to be this long, but it also had to be under 500MB… Part 3 will demonstrate the use of Bank C waveforms as LFOs."

MrManson: modular set-up

flickr by Analogue Haven

"Beautiful DIY Eurorack case courtesy of MrManson at the Muff Wiggler forum.

"I've always thought that the 200e folding style case was just about a perfect combination of portability and functionality, so I had a go at making a Buchla style Euro case a couple of weeks ago...

It worked out really well - much better than I was expecting to be honest, and it's confirmed for me that form factor is a huge aspect of the patching experience for me. It's completely changed how I interact with my modular - it totally feels like an instrument now.

It's heavy though - guitar amp heavy. Having said that, it's the equivalent of a monster case, so I guess the weight goes with the territory, and it's nice to be able to fold it up and take it places."

Great job!

"Trying out my new Chroma Polaris II on the track Crush. Get the album for free at http://beem.se

On the album it's an Obx doing the pad (with a bit less cheese :) The main melody is originally a memory moog.

There's more Polaris on the recent Jennie Abrahamsson remix and the Deportees remix."

Roland SBX-10 DIN MIDI Sync Box

via this auction

"This is a beautiful SBX-10. Perfect for syncing your TB-303, MC-202 or TR-808 with Midi Clock. Even use it for a master Midi Clock and tap tempos! For it's age, the unit is near flawless. Comes with Boss PSA-120 adapter."

Playing Around with ProLoop by Trapcode

Playing Around with ProLoop by Trapcode from Calvin Cardioid on Vimeo.

Review, pics, and audio on cl516 here.

"So this thing plays up to 6 loops at a time. Each loop can be pitchshifted up or down, and the user can select whether the pitchshift is locked / quantized to tones or not. I prefer smooth pitchshift, kinda like a digital tape varispeed. Each loop has forward or reverse, but it can also freeze in whatever position you're holding down on the screen. All of this is already enough for me, but they add a bonus: there's FM between the loops! Loop 1 can modulate 2 can modulate 3, etc. etc. Plus the user gets to choose between FM, PM or Ring modulation. Sweet."

Can be used by navigators to plot courses through space-time, turning what once seemed like impossible intergalactic voyages into routine trips.

OBERHEIM OB-Mx 2 Voice Expansion Card

Close up shot of the board. Note the CEM 5508H Octal Sample & Hold. It is also used in the Waldorf Waveslave, mentioned on Till Kopper's site here.

Update via Qwave (Till) in the comments: "This CEM 5508H is used in all versions of the Waldorf MicroWave too: [link]

Spot it in the close up pictures.

The Waldorf WAVE uses 1 CEM PD508 as multiplexer for the analog voltages that feed the analog filter and VCA chips. The CEM 5508H is used for the very same purpose in the MicroWave and WaveSlave."

YAMAHA SK 15 Vintage analog string/brass/organ synth

WALDORF MICRO Q Keyboard

via this auction

"rare Waldorf MicroQ synthesizer. This keyboard is amazing at emulating some of the best analog bass synths, including: 303 lines, synth leads, trance pads, beats, and more. This may be the little brother of the Q synth, but it definitely isn't light on features! This synth features 25 voices (expandable to 75), 16-part multi timbral, 300 single programs, 100 multi programs, 20 drummaps, 5 Oscillators per voice capability, Oscillator FM, Ring Modulation, Noise Generator, Arpeggiator with user pattern, including accents, timing information, swing, glide, chords, and a load of effects including Reverb, Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Distortion, Delay, 2X Surround Delay, and a Vocoder with 25 bands. The rack mount version is much more common, and this version with the keyboard is much more accessible and easy to use. Unlike the 2-space rack mount version, the 37-note keyboard version come with Pitch and Mod wheels, in addition to, pedal inputs."
