The Moon Modular 518 Lowpass Gate is Sweet Sounding

Moon Modular - 518 Low Pass Gate
Voltage Controlled Low Pass Gate Filter/VCA
The VOLTAGE CONTROLLED LOW PASS GATE is inspired by the
special module from Don Buchla found in his famous 'west coast type' modular synthesizers (Series 200) from around 1970.
The 518 module features a switchable combination of a low pass filter circuit with voltage controllable cutoff frequency and a VCA (here called 'Gate').
Both functions work separately or in combination.
The filter resonance ist voltage controllable.
The low pass filter slope is 12 dB/oct."
Orpho VLPF - Eurorack Vactrol Low-Pass-Filter
video upload by HOX808
"The Orpho VLPF is an active low-pass filter module for modular synthesizers in the Eurorack format. It is a fully resonant low-pass filter that uses vactrols as controlling elements for the filter frequency and resonance. The two potentiometers for frequency and resonance set the desired filtering. The more they are opened, the more light falls on the two LDRs. By changing the control voltage, frequency, volume, and resonance change simultaneously. The potentiometers allow the adjustment of the light impact to achieve fine gradations. The two LEDs are exposed to provide a visual representation.
A fully resonant filter shows significant amplification at its resonance frequency, leading to a sharp peak in the frequency response. The quality factor (Q-factor) determines the sharpness of this resonance: a high Q-factor implies a sharp resonance, while a low Q-factor results in a more damped resonance. Fully resonant filters can also tend to oscillate in the absence of an input signal when set to maximum amplification, a phenomenon known as self-oscillation.
Vactrol:
A vactrol is a combination of a light-dependent resistor (LDR) and a light-emitting diode (LED) housed in a common, light-tight enclosure. Increasing the LED brightness decreases the resistance of the LDR. This can be used for various circuits that rely on variable resistances. These components are known for their "soft" sound, as they are linear elements that do not cause distortion.
Module Overview:
- VLPF with vactrol control
- Fully resonant filter
- Self-oscillation possible
- High-quality potentiometers
- CV input
- Two LEDs behind the front panel for visual representation
- Amazing organic sound, ideal for drum snappy sounds and bongo sounds
Enclosure and Power Consumption:
The VLPF is 3U high, 8HP wide, and 18mm deep. Power consumption: +12V, -12V | 40mA.

Sequential Prophet 10 REV4 soundscape - Tonight there are no dreams
video upload by MIDERA
"Today I went through documents that I found from my mother. Some of these things were cards she had written to my dad (Hallmark cards, with love underlined), and vice versa. I found her old drawings from when she was 4 to 6. My grandmother saved them. Seeing a '5 year old' version of my mom, drawing a picture of a snowman with red hair (my mom had red hair), it was... really hard to look at. Kind of thinking of the fleeting world we live in.
Some day - my kids kid could be looking at pictures that my kid drew when she was young, the way that I'm doing this now with my mother. It's just wild how fast it all goes.
My grandma had also saved a locket of my mom's hair from when she was 5. I guess it's the only part of her I still have... I don't know what to do with it, but I can't really throw it out either.
Anyway, this track was made in response to my Kawai SX-240 soundscape, because I didn't know if I could make anything quite as nice as that one, but I think I got close.
Strymon Volante used for delay.
Eventide Blackhole VST used for reverb."

"Extremely rare machine (around 25 working units known in the world today)
FEATURES:
An ultra-rare instrument from the Italian Farfisa company from 1978 – the Polychrome. It’s a combo synth/strings/organ/vocal, and percussive instrument, that is not like anything coming out of USA or Japan at that time (Korg Trident/Arp Quadra etc). There are believed to be only a couple of hundred ever made, so certainly rare.
Fully polyphonic using octave-divider technology, and features an inbuilt analogue Phaser and Ensemble for effects. Particular fame was the chorus section, which many comment as being the most beautiful sounding of all analog synths from these era and reason enough to want to own one.
Another great feature of the keyboard is what Farfisa call the “Touch Brilliance” operation. This provides 3 aftertouch settings to control the Chorus Section and all the tone colours for; Electric Guitar, Brass, Reed and Strings. It’s a nice ‘Touch’ so to speak and offers a level of playable control that really makes this instrument sing."

Glasgow Synth Guild Oct Tone Sequencer Review
video upload by Molten Music Technology
"Oct Tone is 8 steps of Eurorack cyclic sequencing. Who would ever need more? It's a delightfully musical module with a great front end, some snazzy features and can cook up a storm in more ways than you'd think.
GSG did not send me the module; I bought it myself, and they have no idea I'm making a video review.
