Camel Audio Acquired by Apple?
via MacRumors
"Apple appears to have acquired popular music plug-in and effect maker Camel Audio, based on information found on corporate registry site Companies House [PDF]. Camel Audio's address has been updated to 100 New Bridge Street, which is Apple's London address, and the company's sole director is now listed as Apple lawyer Heather Joy Morrison, suggesting the company is in the possession of Apple.
Camel Audio is known for its range of plug-ins, synthesizers, effects, and sound libraries, which were available via the company's Alchemy software. Previously available for $249, Alchemy included more than 1000 sounds, 5.5GB worth of samples, a powerful additive resynthesis engine, spectral resynthesis, a virtual analog synthesizer, and more. Its powerful engine was highly useful to those who liked to create and manipulate audio for unique sounds."
Interesting. Curious if it will become part of Garage Band. Deeper instruments coming to the platform?

Camel Audio Alchemy: Patch Morph Example
"Playing with the patch morph facility in Alchemy. 4 very different sounding sources are slowly crossfaded one to the other using the xfade-linear parameter in the Morph section modulated by a very slow LFO. It is also possible to morph the sounds so that the various source settings/parameters gradually morph between the values in the 4 sources rather than crossfade.
Very powerful and a nice way to get huge amounts of movement and progression in a pad sound.
Free download so feel free to grab it and use it in your productions, share a link if you use it."

YouTube Uploaded by resonantfilterblog on Mar 29, 2011
"Quick improv using Camel Audio's Alchemy (Biolabs Tuned Gong) being controlled by Audio Damage's Tattoo, with an additional Tattoo for beats. Additional sounds created with Reaktor Mirage ensemble by Peter Dines loaded with Luftrum samples courtesy of Freesound.org. The whole mess is being routed into Audio Damage's Automaton (Stutter Step variation.) Thanks for checking out my Tuesday morning improv session! L.72"

The Dark - Marty The Vampire

Main Bass Synth/Strings are from a Technics WSA1 (all in a single patch), Scream at the intro is from a Fairlight with Audio Damage Discord 2, SSL's X-Orcism plugin is used (I had to use it somewhere on this one) on the waterphone again from the Fairlight. Drums are a combination of BFD, Kore and an Akai XE-8 drum module. Choirs are an Orchestron sample from an Akai S5000, this is doubled up with the clasic Fairlight Sarah sound. Piano is Korg SG-1D with the chorus on, Wierd sounds under the vocals is a mixture of Camel Audio Cameleon 5000 and a Technics WSA1. This is all underpinned by the fabulous Hahaha CS33 playing the distorted bass and later on the echo distorted synth at the end. Lastly, the strings are from a Yamaha SS-30 String Synth with extra processing. Vocals use my secret weapon.
The track is available as a free download.

Camel Audio Cameleon 5000 Additive Synth Overview, Part One
YouTube via gearwire
"While centuries past, synthesis was reserved for the likes of royalty appointed wizards, the enlightenment and technology teamed up to make it available to everyone. Bill Holland sums up the hidden powers of additive synthesis in this, his demo of Camel Audio Cameleon 5000."
Camel Audio Cameleon 5000 Additive Synth Overview, Part Two
"With the Camel Audio Cameleon 5000, Bill Holland shows that changing up sound and modulating it is as natural and easy as an actual chameleon changing colors to match its environment. In our next video, Bill Holland shows you how to change colors to match your environment."
