"Farfisa Syntorchestra from the 1970s. It is fully functional and is in good condition overall. There are some areas where the wood covering is missing or has been glued back on. Additionally, one of the feet has been glued back together after breaking off. This synth has incredible lead and string sounds."

video upload by ohm_studi_ohm

"Quick demo to showcase a custom built Farfisa Partner 14 drum machine.
100% analog sounds.
Plays through the analog BBD chrous / delay Roland DC-50"

via this auction

"One-of-a-kind drum machine.

It"s a rhythm unit ripped from a 70s farfisa spinet organ and built in a custom case (trying to remain faithful to the original look).

Classic analog drum sounds like the ones you get out of the many boxes of that area (Roland TR77, Ace Tone FR-1 FR-2 FR-8, Hammond Auto Vari etc etc)

14 rhythms, controls for tempo and volume.

Mono Jack output and running on 12v DC (power supply is not provided. It works with any 12v DC positive center power suppl). Perfectly working."

Farfisa Soundmaker w/ Music Sheet Stand

"Here are some facts about the synth:
The Soundmaker has 61 keys on its keyboard and therefore covers five complete octaves including C of the sixth octave. You can choose between polyphonic and monophonic registers. A combination of these is also possible - the keyboard can be "split" in the middle.

Polyphonic chords can be played with the right hand and the melody with the left hand. The Soundmaker has five poly registers (piano, harpsichord, honky-tonk piano, brass and brass with vibrato), an external one for Time-typical string ensemble, which is also polyphonic, and a total of twelve monophonic sounds (tuba, trombone, trumpet, saxophone, clarinet, oboe, flute, piccolo, accordion, electric bass and electric guitar).

All registers can be easily changed and adjusted with the synthesizer elements on the front of the instrument. In addition, the instrument has a mode in which no preset is activated and the musician can create, save and retrieve his own sound. The synthesizer has two 6.35mm jacks, one each for the polyphonic and monophonic section, as well as a headphone output and an input socket. External noise sources could be integrated into the soundmaker's technology."

Unfortunately this one needs work. Also from the listing: "The synthesizer can be switched on and the various buttons also react, but unfortunately I can't get any sound out."

DIGIGRAM MC 5 COMPOSER - A Sequencer That Lets You Connect a Printer to it

via this auction

This one was spotted and sent in via xonox, who translated the recent EEH Zaunkönig article. Note this is the first post to mention the DIGIGRAM MC 5 or rebranded Farfisa MC5.

The following description from the listing appears to have been pulled from Music Technology - October 1987, captured on Mu:sines. It also appears to have been rebranded as the Farfisa MC5 as seen below the ZYKLUS here. [Update: link fixed]

"The Musical Composer from French company Digigram combines sequencing and music printing functions in a single unit. Is it the answer to every composer's dream?

CREATING A SCORE from a musical performance is an area of music production well suited to inclusion in a MIDI sequencing system. The advantages are numerous: a composer can print out compositions, an improviser can print out a performance, an arranger can print out parts. And any musician, regardless of whether or not they can read or write music, can have a printed score of their music for others to play or for copyright purposes.

While an increasing number of MIDI software companies are writing music printing programs for the Apple Macintosh, IBM PC and Atari ST, French company Digigram have chosen to combine sequencing and printing functions in a single dedicated unit which needs the addition of an IBM PC-compatible printer (at around £200+) to become what the manual describes in a burst of enthusiasm as "a high performance tool, a veritable digital MIDI studio". Well, we shall see.

The MC5 Musical Composer has a 12-track sequencer which can store upwards of 11,000 notes recorded in real and step time. Ten of these tracks are polyphonic (each up to eight notes) and the remaining two - labelled Melody and Chord - are monophonic and, er, chordal respectively (more on these later). The MC5 allows you to mix two tracks onto a third empty track, copy a track onto an empty track, chain two tracks together to form a new track, and erase tracks either individually or all together. Mixed tracks can't be edited or printed, however.

Farfisa Syntorchestra - Silver Model - Serviced

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

You can find demos of the Syntorchestra in previous posts here.

"Recently serviced and internally re-enforced - since these models tend to get pretty wonky with the years - this one is sturdy.

Lid is included and closes well and has been equipped with new latches - you can carry it like a suitcase. It's been freshly spray painted - like the original silver and black - so a slight halo can be seen around logos, but it matches the original colors well - we've made a side by side comparison with another one we have in line awaiting service.

It's equipped with a new power plug as well, another thing that fails on the original ones.

All original slider caps.

Condition is fair - we would say almost good but this machine has seen some action so please view photos carefully : Some oxidation and scratches on face plates and , missing the plastic music stand strip - hence the 4 small holes on the top, a few scratches on the front plate as well.

The flute presets sound good but a bit different - less than a flute compared to the other ones we've heard - so could be a capacitor or something else that needs changing, but should be an easy fix.

Mono-tuning can be an issue on these but it's not bad on this one, you need to adjust tuning after ca 2 octaves and sometimes when switching presets - this is quite normal for these machines.

Tuning might need to be adjusted on arrival since the trim pots sometimes get affected by bouncing around during shipping."

Klaus Schulze: A tribute to his music and legacy

video upload by CatSynth TV

"We play tribute to electronic music pioneer Klaus Schulze, who passed away on April 26, 2022.

Schulze was known for his early work with Tangerine Dream, the krautrock band Ash Ra Tempel, and especially his electronic music solo work as part of the so-called Berlin School in the 1970s. He used a wide array of analog synthesizers during this period, but in the ensuing decades he embraced new technologies, including MIDI, computers for music, virtual instruments, and more. He also explored various styles and techniques in his later music.

His final album, Deus Arrakis, will be released in June of 2022."

An amazing tribute by https://catsynth.com.

"Here is a rare and incredible machine. The Farfisa Syntorchestra is a polysynth and a mono synth in one. Check out the video. These things go where no others do. The tone is holy analog wholeness, that warm organic purity often spoken of but never landed anywhere near in today's mass lies. This is the best of those raw strange Farfisa organs that go right through the subconscious-- but add to that an epic super expressible mono voice. Check out the video. [previously posted here

This was just looked over by my super synth tech-- Chris at Electronic Innovations. It needed the vibrato button to the poly section put right. It was put right plus the power supply section worked for health and longevity.

This supremely rare legend is ready to make you the same."
