It Is absolutelt big, It gas its own stand, handle and cover, bit the weight It Is so much (I think It Is about 50 kg )

The PK4900 has only been mentioned on the site once before in a post on General Music declaring bankruptcy back in 2009. This is the first demo and video of one in action.

"A short demonstration of the Poly Aftertouch responsiveness on the GEM S3 workstation, which is one of a very view keyboards, which can play Poly AT. It is a pity that the really great keyboard of the Solaris is not capable of. In the second part of this video I demonstrate a sound comparision of the classic string patch. The GEM S3 is not bad sounding IMO."

Demo of the GEM/LEM (Galanti Group) PK 4900. Played along with Korg SDD-3000 for delay effects (right channel only).

The rare GEM/LEM PK 4900 is a multikeyboard containing a polyphonic section (called POLYTRON) including a string-ensemble (INSTA-STRINGS) and a monophonic preset synthesizer (called MONOTRON). Both sections are independently tunable, although intervals are not possible. Both sections have their own output on the backside. CHORUS and VIBRATO switchable.

It sounds somewhat cheesy, sometimes like a cheap organ (squarewave sound), but it was a cost effective keyboard back then. Although the strings are called 'Insta-Strings', the strings are completely different from the strings of the LEM Insta-Strings keyboard I demoed two years ago."

"This is a rare board in the states. I only tested the sounds, buttons and inputs, this board is too complicated to test any further than that. There are two headphone jacks on the left corner, the bottom jack works, but the top jack is not producing any sound, it could be a special operating procedure."

Odd regarding having two headphone jacks.

This keyboard has some synthesizer functions
You can create and store your own sounds by combining two waveforms.
There are 32 preset envelopes and 16 preset pitch envelopes. Also 8 preset lfo's. The second DCO can be detuned. Some nice wavetable-like sounds can be made.
The keyboard is not velocity sensentive but over midi it is. Over midi it als responds to pitchbend and modulation.

This one is currently up for sale on Reverb, and eBay.

"This is a mega rare digitally controlled analog synthesizer.
It's a very unique and special synthesizer with multiple uses and many exotic sounds. There is a string section called Insta-strings, a polyphonic section called Polytron and a monophonic section called Monotron. There is two separate outs in the back for poly and mono.

The string section has preset buttons with the following sounds:

The poly section has preset buttons with the following sounds:

"I have become a bit 'Rusty',i did not play my synthesizers in past much,i wanted to make "Dream Scape Part 8',but i must become better and also today 2 synthesizers has "passed away":the Roland JD-800 and the Yamaha SY-77 are no longer working good,these i must fix,today i have done a major soundcheck and all other synths worked very well!,but these short piece of music i have made today,and i hope you like it!,i hope i become better soon,no longer rusty and un-inspired,wish me good luck,LOL!
