Black Panel Buchla Music Easel

via this auction

Some pics of the inside below.

"The 208 is a 208r V1 with NOS vactrols and NOS tropical fish capacitors and Sprauge capacitors for accurate tone. All high quality parts that you won't find in another Easel unless you have the components and build it yourself of course. Comes with Buchla style silver panel if you prefer. Black panel is a little cloudy in spots but hardly noticeable. You can mount this 208r in a shallow boat in your Buchla case, unlike every other version of the 208."

258r BUCHLA DUAL OSCILLATOR MODEL CLONE

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via NOISEBUG Reverb

"Two independent voltage controlled oscillators, continuously tunable from 5Hz to 20kHz (applied control voltages can extend limits to .1Hz and 30kHz). Each oscillator has two processing inputs and a frequency modulation input. Waveshapes as well as frequency can be voltage controlled. Model 258 Dual Oscillators feature low sine wave harmonic content, negligible settling error, and high short and long term stability, even with rapidly changing ambient temperatures.

Waveshapes can be varied from sine to saw (osc1) and sine to square (osc2)"

Buchla 360r Update & 221r Kinesthetic Input Port

An update from Roman sent my way via Soviet Space Child.

"The 360r will have 15 programmable outputs with full control from the 221r (standard midi messages), it uses a 16-core mcu/dsp by XMOS and 24b/216KHz 16ch codec by Cirrus Logic.

The 221r will have midi and usb i/o and 4x digital ports for communication with the other modules. It also uses a combination of accelerometer and gyroscope for the bend function. also i hope to decode 200e I2C buss, it already has it connected."

Also added to this post where you'll find a pic of the 360r.

New Buchla Programmable Octal Signal Source Model 360 Coming from Roman Filippov

"Soon. Can’t tell much more details yet"

Roman Filippov as you know is the man behind Sputnik Modular, Black Corporation, and various Buchla DIY projects. Black Corporation is focused on full blown desktop synths including Deckard’s Dream, Kijimi, Xerses, as well as some erurorack adaptations of various components of these synths. Sputnik focuses on Roman's line of primarly west coast inspired eurorack modules. Roman has also offered one-off creations of classic designs for the DIY market.

This one was spotted and sent in via Soviet Space Child.

Update: "It has stereo, quad outputs as well. Will be 8 voices, 3osc per voice with built in enveloppe and VCAs - fully 24osc synth (shouldn't the VCA be LPG on the OG?). Inputs wil be via digital buss from 221r. You'll have to have both modules to make 360 funtcionnal. Also coming this summer. 300 computer open source module is also in the works."

Black Corporation's Roman Filippov Introduces Buchla format 288r Time Domain Processor

This one is in via Black Corporation's Roman Filippov:

"I'm starting a preorder for a limited run of 288r - my approach on the Time Domain Processor, the digital version of it.

- 24bit/196KHz sound quality (switchable to 12bit "vintage" mode)

- up to 40 seconds of looping buffer (switchable to original short loop timings)

- both timing and phase/mixing presets are set up by trimmers and dip-switches on a back of a module, no need to wire or change resistors

- preorder is $299, total price is $1099 shipped

- a usb-programmer for firmware updates will be included with each order

- source code will become public shortly after the release of a module

- shipping is scheduled for mid-march 2021

- this is one-time run and i'm not offering kits atm unfortunately

- couple more cool modules to be released later this year.

reservations are via PayPal only, please PM or email to in@btwn.us if you want one"

According to fluxmonkey, the original Buchla 288 8-stage voltage controlled looping digital delay never went into production. Only 2 prototypes exist. Mark Verbos of Verbos Electronics created a version using different circuitry.

Buchla Dual Oscillator Model 258 258c 258r

via this auction

"Excellent condition Buchla Dual Oscillator Model 258c from Roman Filippov kit. Meticulously assembled utilizing uA726s.

Two independent voltage-controlled oscillators, continuously tunable from 5 Hz to 20 kHz. Each has two processing inputs and a frequency modulation input. Waveshapes as well as frequency can be voltage controlled. Model 258 oscillators feature low sine wave harmonic content, negligible settling error, and high short and long-term stability, even with rapidly changing ambient temperatures.

Controls and I/O:

Processing inputs — Two processing control inputs permit multiple control of pitch without need of separate external processor.
Processing controls — Used to set desired range of frequency control. Expansion, compression, and inversion of scales are accomplished here.
Frequency modulation control — For adjusting vibrato depth or creating clangorous or bell-like tones, rich in non-harmonic partials.
Output — Signal amplitude is +4 dB. Output impedance is 600 ohms.
Oscillator frequency control — Spans the audio spectrum of 5 Hz to 20 kHz with no range switching. (Applied control voltages can extend limits to .1 Hz and 30 kHz.)
Waveshape control input — Waveshapes can be varied from sine to saw (osc 1) and sine to square (osc 2). Voltage control of waveshape enables powerful dynamic control of timbre."

Buchla 227r

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"This has been completely gone over by Dave Brown and works as should EXCEPT I didn't mount the reverb...a tank is included with the sale along with a card that is wired..you'll have to get the 2nd half to go into your mixer..it can be 1/4, tt, or xlr."

This appears to be a listing by Joshua Holley of Malekko. You can find more of his listings here. The r in Buchla models usually represents Roman Filippov of Black Corporation. Prior to Black Corporation he was making Buchla clones. You can find previous posts featuring the 227r in the archives. I believe this is the first post to feature an image of the 227r.
