"Here's for sale The Mega Rare & Highly Sought After ULT-SOUND DS-4 Custom By Toyo Gakki made in Japan in the Early 70s... The Ult Sound DS-4 is an amazing Analog Drum Machine composed of 4 Oscillators which can be triggered from the Voltage Control Inputs either all Oscillators at once or each Oscillator individually, each Oscillator section is capable of producing a wide range of different sounds from Bass Drums, Snares, Cymbals, Etc, as well as all kinds of space sounds & other very complex sounds which made this Analog Drum Machine famous for those particular sounds at the time.

There were two models of these units made, the "BLACK" faced model which was the most common and the "CUSTOM" Model which is the hardest to find usually sell for over $ 3,100 but I am only selling mine for $ 2,650 shipping included because Christmas is coming and wanna buy some new stuff in my studio.



Many artists and bands like The Yellow Magic Orchestra used the Ult-Sound DS-4 in their live performances and recordings in the late 70's and early 80's..."

"Rare and historically significant drum module, with classic vintage sound, and great analogue synthesis capability. There are 4 modules, each triggered by an external trigger input (this can be a dedicated trigger voltage, or just even a simple audio trigger from a drum machine, sampler, or computer. This unit was overhauled last year and all modules are working well. There are 'preset' sounds - hihats, snares, and noise. But then these can also be overridden with synthesized sounds. Great unit, very collectible."

"Up for sale is the ultra rare ULT Sound DS2 drum synthesizer. A very unique and interesting unit made in Japan around mid / end 70ies. It has two independent drum synth channels and sounds pretty good for it’s size. It can be triggered via gate or audio signals at the back of the unit. The drumpads in the case are not working anymore, they have been removed."

Homemade drum pads

"I have an idea for a drum interface to use with some of my homemade synthesizer modules. But to make that I need some drum pads. In this video I am therefore making a set of drum pads out of some wood (some of it is actually chipboard) and some old speakers.

The music is something I made in 2002. I used the Yamaha HE-8 organ, Roland CR-1000 drum machine, and JX-8P synthesizer."

"After making the drum pads I need to build some sort of interface that can convert the short electric pulses from the pads to an analog voltage that can control other musical devices.
