Dreamy Minimal Ambient with OP-1 field and norns shield | Warmth 2026-03-05 by atnr

video upload by atnr

"Ambient Engine (macOS)
https://store.atnr.net/downloads/ambi...

A piece created with ‪@teenageengineering‬ OP-1 field, ‪@KOMAelektronik‬ Field Kit, norns shield, NTS-1, and Ambient Engine. It is minimal ambient built from dreamy synth tones, distortion, and fragmented chorus textures.

On the OP-1 field, a 44 step phrase runs in a loop using the ENDLESS sequencer. The output is connected to. ‪@strymon‬ blueSky with reverb applied.

On the norns shield, Graintopia is launched and an electric piano sound from the CP-88 is recorded with phaser applied and processed with granular synthesis. The output runs through ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ LOSSY with EQ and reverb. In the outro, packet loss effect is used to create a lo fi texture while the sound fades out.

In the Field Kit, radio tuner audio is sent to the ‪@KORG_INC‬ NTS-1 where delay, chorus, and reverb are applied. The return signal is sent again to an AUX channel to create feedback and distortion.

In Ambient Engine, two voice samples are loaded and played with randomized playback ranges. Filter, MicroLoop, delay, and reverb are adjusted during playback."

"Ambient Engine (macOS)
https://store.atnr.net/downloads/ambi...

A piece created with field recordings from the streets of Tokyo, piano, ‪@SequentialLLC‬ Prophet-10, and Ambient Engine.

The piano is a YAMAHA CP-88 with its built in reverb set deep.

On the Prophet-10, a synth pad is performed while adding reverb with blueSky.

The field recordings were captured on an iPhone. The edited audio in the DAW is layered together with versions processed inside Ambient Engine.

In Ambient Engine, a single field recording sample is assigned random or specified playback ranges and triggered by seven sample players. Modulation is sent to the filter, Delay, and MicroLoop, and parameters are also adjusted in real time using the trackpad."

A piece built around piano, synth, and granular-processed chorus textures.

The piano is performed on the YAMAHA CP-88 with deep reverb applied.

On the volca fm2, a synth pad is played and processed with deep reverb through ‪@strymon‬ blueSky.

The chorus samples are imported into Ambient Engine and played back with randomized playback ranges. Modulation is applied to the filter, and additional variation is created using the built-in looper and delay effects."

An ambient session built from street sounds recorded in West Hollywood and a live performance on the ‪@SequentialLLC‬ Prophet-10.

Street sounds captured on an iPhone in West Hollywood were imported into Ambient Engine. Using three sample players, the sounds are played back at random timings and ranges, creating wave-like textures. Over this evolving backdrop, a live Prophet-10 performance is layered.

The Prophet-10 is processed through ‪@strymon‬ blueSky with deep reverb applied."

Ambient Engine – Preset Demo: SineForest

video upload by atnr

Ambient Engine was featured in this previous video by atnr.

"This sound is generated using a single preset [ SineForest ] in Ambient Engine.
No DAW, no performance, recorded in one take.

This preset uses sine wave samples at C3, C4, C5, and C7.

"What you can do with Ambient Engine

Ambient Engine is designed not just for 'making songs' but as a 'device that continuously generates sound.'

Load samples
Adjust the playback range and density
Add fluctuations with modulation
Record in real time
Even without playing, the sound continues to change autonomously according to the parameter settings.

Import sounds recorded with your smartphone and instantly create your own ambient music."
